I really want to say that this company is wonderful. Oscar, who works especially with lights, was extremely helpful. I am a high school music teacher, and wanted some special effects lighting for my end-​of-​the-​year pops concert. It’s always a big deal at my school & I wanted this year’s to be really special. I didn’t have tons of money or know-​how, but Oscar helped me find just the right combination of truss, special lights, etc., at a reasonable rental price that I could afford. He came out to my school and gave us advice on how to set it up, and seemed to genuinely care about what we were doing. I can’t say enough good about the people who run this place — they were all very helpful and easy to work with. They helped to make my end-​of-​the-​year event a great thing! I recommend this place highly! I will be a return customer.

I don’t write reviews very often but I felt like I really needed to for Dynamic Sounds the service was that great. I came in looking for DJ equipment to rent for my Graduation party and they were able to help me with everything I need all at an amazing price! They beat out Guitar Centers quote and the equipment worked great. The mixer that I came in asking for had been stolen and they were able to hook me up with a brand new Rane MKII which worked amazing. Thank you again Dynamic Sounds and I will definitely be coming back again!

Hands down the best place for any of your party /​DJ needs, with more than 30 years of experience, these guys know their history of equipment. New businesses have opened trying to compete, but all they really are is a cubic zirc compared to the diamond that is Oscar and The Dynamic sounds crew.

I used Dynamic Sound & Lighting twice in one month to rent blacklights. I expressed my needs, wants and concerns and everyone made sure I was well taken care of. They beat out competitor pricing which was great. I was lucky enough to use a couple of their brand new black light cannons. They worked so well I was HIGHLY tempted to buy one for myself. The store is very fun and they will take their time to help you — they will answer and and all questions you have and will even do demonstrations. Be patient when you go — they often get very busy so you may want to set an appointment or give yourself some extra time to be there. I look forward to using them in the future.

Dynamic Sounds did my wedding last August 2013 at the St. Claire hotel downtown San Jose. Oscar saw my vision and my wedding was a dream !! Oscar did uplighting and pattern lighting as well as a initial Mongram. I was so excited when i saw ballroom set up for the first time. Just beautiful and much appreciated. Great Job !!!

Great customer service. Rent and buy stuff here often. They really care about helping you rather than just take your money. THEY ACTUALLY HELP ADVICE YOU ON HOW YOU CAN SAVE And still get what you need… Gilbert and Oscar are great and will hook you up.

These guys are great. Yes they have great prices but it’s the service that impressed me. They take the time to work with you answer any questions or concerns. I’m working on recording videos and been having issues working with that particular program. At Dynamic Sound they will take the time and show you how to use it even of you didn’t buy it through them.
That’s pretty cool and so now I am now a client. It’s great to still have businesses out there willing to teach you not just sell you.

Probably one of the best lighting and sound stores in the bay area… I’ve come back to them again and again for very, very large setups (full stage sound and lighting productions), as well as small rentals (such as one fog machine).
It’s great to get to a good comfort level knowing the people you are working with have such a good knowledge and are willing to go the extra mile to help you with your show.
Give them a shout whether you’re purchasing and need advice, or trying to put on an awesome production /​party.

This is where I go to get my party equipment if I’m trying to make my function epic. Light rentals range from 20 – 30 bucks, but u r probably going to need a fog machine (which is kinda expensive for a rental I have to admit-​$ 35) bc it does accentuate the light show. However, when u r partying n dancing u kind of forget to use the fog machine, but if u r doing an electro party, I def. rec it.
I would come back to this shop just to get some ambient lighting for get-​togethers. You can budget somewhere from 60 – 200 dollars for a decent lightshow party. They also lease dj equipment n speakers. This is ur one stop shop for dance party equipment.

Large showroom and the staff is willing to let you try out anything that they sell. The staff will help you find EXACTLY what you want and demo similar products to compare each other. They are prepared to order anything they do not already have in stock and are willing to create packages for bulk orders. You can also rent their equipment.
Best of all, they do NOT push you into buying equipment that you will not absolutely love. I definitely will be using Dynamic for anything I need!

Yo… this place… IS FREAKIN’ INSANE! I mean I’m all about the customer service when it comes to businesses and they have excellent customer service. I went here 2 days in a row, and was greeted my the same person, Patrick, who is a really nice laid back fellow. I went there on Wednesday right before they were about to close and Patrick didn’t mind helping me out and more. Im hosting a party today and I was looking for some killer lights to rent without breaking the budget. I checked out this place because of the Unilocal reviews on here, and these reviews are not fake. The service and the prices are unbeatable! Anyways, Patrick had an extensive knowledge of all the lights in the store. He booted up some EDM on their sound system there and turn on some of the lights in the store. And did I mention they have this HUGE black curtain that they close to block off all sunlight to show their demo’s of their lights. Its pretty freakin awesome. Anyways, we immediately found what we wanted when we turned on the first two lights, then he explained to us their functions and all. He even covered the place with the fog machine, giving us a full «rave» experience. lol. Then for the fun of it, he turned on every light they had in the store and it was like a night club in there!
Went back the next day to show some of my boys, and they absolutely loved the presentation also. Patrick explained the same stuff he explained to me the previous day and they were also amazed by his knowledge of the items and just really helpful personality. We will be going back today to rent the lights, and might I say, THEY ARE DIRT CHEAP. I mean the products they have are worth around hundreds of dollars and up, and they are renting it out for like 1 percent of the price. It is really mind blowing but just awesome at the same time. I know I will be back here in the future for more events, and I know that these guys could supply me with virtually everything I need! THANKS AGAIN PATRICK!

This place kicks butt. My wife and I are hosting a pretty good sized party but in a small space. I wanted some dance lighting, nothing fancy. So we walk in and one guys says hello but he and some guys are busy on some contraption or other. About 30 seconds later, «Reuben» walks up and asks if anyone said anything to us when we walked in and we tell him yes.
He then goes on to say that they want people to feel welcomed so someone is supposed to greet us as we come through the door. So I’m sort of blown away by the whole encounter and wondering if he’s serious. Well he was.
This guy knew we were not there to spend a lot of money and we hadn’t even decided if we were going to buy or rent but he didn’t care. He spent at least 15 to 20 minutes asking us what we were trying to do, how much space we were looking at and then showed us all the options, turned them on for us, showed us how things worked.
The shop looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside but once you’re in you can see they put some effort into it. I thought the displays were very well laid out and I can’t think of how it could have been any better.
Our party is in July but you can be sure that I’ll be hitting them up for some things very soon because the rentals alone were dirt cheap.

My brother needed lights for gigs, so I saw this place on Unilocal and came through.
Had a lot of stuff, but messy.
We walked in and no one acknowledged us the whole time we were in the store.
We see what we are eyeing and ask a guy if he can help us. He says hold on for 10 minutes… 10 minutes in this store with nothing to really look at? My brother looks up lighting at guitar center and we headout after some time.
The guy does’t make an effort to stop us or anything, nor does he get another sales associate to help us.
When we walked out there was a cat sleeping against the other door. Just like this store, dead.

You can easily get your lighting fix here with all their American DJ to Elation inventory. Need trussing? Not a problem– they got it! They can help you design your next rig for any-​sized venue. It does get busy sometimes as there aren’t that many good stores like this around so don’t be afraid to browse the gear and ask your questions when you have them!
These guys also rent sound/​lighting equipment and gear. They’re always quick with setup and exceeds our expectations. Highly recommended!
