Established in 2013.

Two other buddies and I opened up the garage doors of Drift Cave in 2012. We were all young, excited, and just wanted a place our race cars to call home for the up and coming milestones in our FD careers.

We found a small shop in Downtown San Jose. Location was great. It was also the perfect size to house 3 racecars, customers’ cars, tools, tires, and more. We found our place to help us kick off a great year of upcoming achievements in our racing careers.

2 short years later and we’ve already quickly outgrown our beloved shop on Taylor street and have moved onto a much bigger space on Commercial.

Our shop has evolved so much since 2012. It’s only been two short years, but there have been great improvements in all aspects of our team, office, management, and business goals. Drift Cave is only going up from here. Come see us at our new location and we’ll show you around.

Meet the Business Owner

Matt F.

Business Owner

Matt was competed in pro motorsports at a young age. He has been racing in the pro drift championship series, Formula Drift, for several years. He’s also the co-​driver of his father, Bruce Field’s off-​road dessert race truck. To date, this father and son team has brought home over 30 wins and 4 championships.

This young entrepreneur has also dedicated his career in other forms of racing — refining his skills as a technician, fabricator, engine builder, as well as being a pro driver and team owner.

He opened his own auto fabrication business at the Drift Cave in 2013. He managed his racing team, new shop, and new sponsors all while going to San Jose State University School of Business.

Matt’s a proud advocate in motorsports, giving back to local organizations and sponsors by offering coaching, event judging and car setup knowledge to his clients and fellow drivers.

Matt’s principal goal of becoming Formula Drift’s champ and go-​to fab shop is nothing short of becoming a reality.
