Delfino & Family Hauling LLC

I hired Delfino to move us twice one week apart. We had to be out of our house on April 30^th and couldn’t move into our new house until one week later on May 7^th. The first move was to pack everything up and move all our stuff into a rented storage unit. Delfino was one hour late and when they were done they told us that we had to pay for their one hour lunch break, so we did. When I told Yesinia about that she said that they were wrong and she would refund us for that hour. (Which I have not received yet) Then one week later I sent her a confirmation email the day before our move into our new home but never heard back form her but figured she was on top of it and the movers would be there. But on moving day, while we are driving the one hour drive at 6:30am to our storage unit to meet them there, I got a cryptic email saying they won’t be moving anybody today because their trucks were tampered with and their dispatch lines are down. But last week when they moved us, they rented a U-​Haul truck so I’m not sure what they were talking about. But the end result was that they never showed up and we were out of luck. We called many moving companies that really tried to squeeze us in that day but ended up taking another day off of work and had a wonderful moving company move us the following day. I still have never heard back from Yesinia which was surprising because she was so helpful and attentive prior to our first move. Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend this company!

They gave us a great hourly rate that was cheaper than any others we found, and we got 3 movers on top of it as well. So I was excited to get such a good deal.
We scheduled the move for a Saturday about a week in advance, but the Wednesday before the move they tried to call me and say that they had to postpone the move until Sunday, which would have been terribly inconvenient since we had already planned our whole weekend around the Saturday move. They ended up being able to keep it on Saturday, but it was frustrating to have to panic in the middle of the week 3 days before making a huge move thinking we might have to find another moving company on such short notice.
Also, we had agreed upon an hourly moving rate, plus one flat gas fee for the whole day, even though we had a 4 location move through out the Bay Area. Which we were so happy about! But then after the moving day was done 6 hours later, they charged us the flat rate plus another driving fee of 3 times that price. We were exhausted from the all day move and the movers had worked so hard, so we just paid it and moved on. But it would have been nice to know that ahead of time (which is why I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5).
Overall on moving day, the 3 movers we had were incredibly hard working and so nice! They took such great care of our furniture and fragile items, and really took the time to make sure everything was packed safely in the truck. They even took some of our old furniture that we were getting rid of and offered to take it to the junk pile for us. It was a long day, they had to meet us in Berkeley at 8am to pick up my items, then drive down to Palo Alto to get some couches, then to Los Altos to get my boyfriends items, then unpack all of it at our new place in San Jose. It took 6 hours on a hot day and they did not complain once. We were so pleased with their hard work and would easily hire them again or recommend them to anyone else. Just make sure to budget for some possible hidden fees!

I sold a very large, heavy, and unwieldy standing mirror and the new owner hired Delfino to retrieve it from my house. Owner and helper worked well together. They were careful to wrap and tape and store it on its side so legs wouldn’t be stressed. I will keep their information handy for any future moving requirements!

Very professional. Highly recommended. Wonderful crew. The crew lead of the day Gary made everything go so smooth. They came in got all my stuff out my house an into my new one in one day. I moved a handful of times in my life an never seen a crew that enjoyed their job so much. Hopefully I don’t move again but if I do delfino an family hauling is who I’ll be calling thanks so much

CAUTION!!! DO NOT USE!!! When I first called they receptionist was nice, friendly and answered all my questions. The movers got there 20 minutes late and only delivered half of my items but couldn’t move the heaviest item which was a 5000 lb. safe even though they assured me they could. They moved the safe outside and left it wrapped and safely secured. When the movers arrived to our destination, my administrator and I personally talked to the lead mover and he assured us again that they would bring the safe on the following day. We paid the movers expecting for them to return as promised. The following day, we never got a call and they wouldn’t answer their phones or check their messages. I and my administrator called about more than 50 times trying to find out what was going on, did they get the safe? Are they able to? No response from anyone. A few hours later after getting extremely frustrated I did get a hold of the lead mover. He advised me that they couldn’t get a truck big enough to carry the safe and that they were «sorry???» Not okay or professional. I wouldn’t recommended this company to anyone because of their customer service and careless attitude especially after paying for an uncompleted job. The receptionist never got ahold of me again or called back as promised. On a positive note: The movers were nice and effective on the day of service!!! Also, I will be contacting BBB and writing a review there also!!!
