After a bad experience with Marilyn Moreno, I went about interviewing very strictly for another lawyer — one who wasn’t so clearly trying to put her own self-​interests ahead of mine. And I found it in David. One sign that David was the kind of lawyer that you want is that he laid out many options for me and carefully and clearly explained them all.
The one I took ended up being to try to go through mediation, which ended up being successful. Due to the fact that I had already had a retainer for Mr. Yomtov, he could not mediate my marriage.
But I am confident through the various initial actions he took on my behalf, such as filing for the initial separation, and walking me through the process of serving my ex-​spouse and making a set of initial claims, that David served me as best any lawyer could have. He was prompt, and aggressive when he needed to be, and slowed down and discussed thoroughly with me and walked through scenarios of how our actions would be perceived by the other side.
That David operated well in multiple modes showed me that he was dynamic, ready to deal with any scenario with the optimal response. That was a breath of fresh air after having met a few lawyers who really showed that they were looking to line their own pockets rather than looking our for what’s best for their clients.
Before I settled in on Mr. Yomtov, I did ask the other lawyers of their opinions of David and he came highly regarded in every case except for 1 who did not know him.

I’m happy to be the first Unilocaler to review David. When I first started searching for an attorney, I was not aware of the AVVO site. So I think it’s important to also review attorneys on Unilocal for those of us who don’t know where to look.
The Yomtov practice is well run. When I called, the phone was typically answered by a person, not a machine. I needed an attorney FAST and had a hearing in 2 days about a custody issue related to my child but we were no longer living in CA (my child’s father was there).
When I called, David was in court but his assistant had his calendar and saw that he was available for my hearing. She requested the pertinent information from me so that David could quickly review my file and determine the best course forward.
In less than 5 weeks we had two hearings (almost impossible in the Santa Clara family courts) and my CA case was dismissed. I did not have to fly across country to CA for either hearing and David worked with my GA attorney seamlessly.
I highly recommend David and the entire Yomtov law offices family for running an excellent Bay area practice!!!
