Parking here can get pretty bad throughout certain hours of the day. I’ve gotten lucky with street parking each time I’ve came here. Just make sure to read the signs with some saying that it’s a 2hr max. Also bring your quarters!
I’ve been here to witness a marriage, pick up certificates, and recently came here to do a testing for employment. I’ve had great experiences each time I came here. Their services are fast and efficient which amazes me since this place could get soo crowded!

Pleasantly surprised by the experience I had picking up a new copy of my birth certificate. I was sure I’d be there for 30+ minutes waiting in line or waiting for them to find my records or who knows what. Instead, I was able to quickly check in, find the form I needed to fill out, and saw a clerk in a matter of minutes. I think it took me longer to walk to and from the clerk’s office from my car than it actually took me to receive my printed, certified birth certificate.
Hopefully I won’t have to be back often, but kudos to the clerk recorder’s office for making this such an easy process.

I come here every couple months for business-​related reasons.
This review is solely for the Clerk-Recorder’s Office. The system here is very similar to the DMV, so if you think you’re going to be able to get in and out — you’re wrong! Make sure to block out some time when you come here cause it’s not a walk in the park.
Some tips:
— When you walk in, go straight to the computer screens and fill out a short form to let them know what you’re there for. After you’re done, your number will be printed.
— Make sure to make photocopies at home or elsewhere. They charge you $ 7 PER COPY here.
— They also charge $ 2 if you pay with a credit card so make sure to bring ca$h money.

I’ve been to the County office a few times to process my Marriage Certificate, get copies, etc. The service has usually been quick and the employees are friendly. Parking can be challenging but now there’s a FREE 2 hour parking lot. Yippee!

Man these folks giving the County a bad rap… so I had to weigh in.
I got my marriage license here and my son’s birth certificate with no problems. The cafeteria here is decent and affordable, see my Garden Café review. You can usually find some great information on programs that help with everything from immigration to raising children.
One hour parking free right at the corner of Hedding and San Pedro… what more could you ask for!

Quickie:
Despite presenting adequate documentation and extenuating circumstances, the Tax Collections Division decided not to waive excessive fees on my cousin’s installments. This is after lengthy phone calls with departmental reps leading us through bureaucratic hoops.
And then???
Poor customer service. Unfortunately, they’re the only department handling county tax issues!
