Clean Rooter & Plumbing

Very impressed and happy with the top-​notch service Chris provided. Although our issue was a relatively minor slow bath drain, he was professional, friendly and clear in his approach to helping us solve the problem. He was on time, called to let us know he was on his way, was thorough, and very fair in his pricing. Thank you, Chris, you were awesome.

I called about 10:00 this morning and talked to Chris and he said they could be out between 12 – 2. Charles called at 12:10 telling me he was 10 mins out. – Great!!! My main line had a backed up. Charles tried multiple tries to break through the backup. His snake machine actually broke! I felt bad! But he had managed to put a small hole in the blockage and then did this fire horse thing to blast out the remaining blockage. He was so nice and helpful. He suggested I get them out with the camera and have the pipe looked at – he was thinking we might have a pipe that is no longer lined up and that is what is causing the pipe to back up. He would have done the camera today except their truck had been broken into and the monitor was stolen. I will have them back out to look at the pipe. They were a little expensive on their rates, but I will use them again!

I contacted Chris yesterday to get a 2^nd opinion on a major plumbing issue. Long story short, Chris and Charles were 1000x better than the previous plumber. Full story below.
The previous day, a plumber came out to my place to do an estimate for fixing a leaking drain pipe inside the wall in my laundry room. After opening the drywall, this plumber showed me the crack in the pipe which was about 5″ off of the floor. He also told me that there was no way to replace the cracked pipe section without jackhammering through my concrete floor at a cost of $ 1950 and also that I’d have to wait two more weeks for a fix. Having gone through a jackhammer plumbing fix in this same room once before, I knew I didn’t want to do it again.
After sleeping on this very bad news of a $ 2k plumbing job, I decided I wanted to get a 2^nd opinion, so I looked on Unilocal and found Chris and gave him a call. I sent him some pictures of the cracked pipe and to my surprise, Chris said he thought there was a good chance it could be fixed without jackhammering, and he even sent Charles over just 2 hours later. Charles was very friendly and after coming up with a plan and purchasing a special tool from the store, he got to work. Amazingly, after about 1.5 hours of work, Charles had totally fixed my problem for a grand total of $ 255 and without ruining my brand new laundry room floor. Amazing!
I could not be more satisfied with my experience with Chris and Charles. I’ve been living in San Jose for about 9 years now and I’ve used probably a half-​dozen plumbers over this time period and I am so happy to have finally found a plumber I now trust to be my go-​to guy. 5 stars, will absolutely call Chris and Charles for all of my future plumbing needs.

Chris is my go-​to plumber. He’s always happy to help, extremely responsive, and is a bargain compared to other plumbers I’ve hired. I own multiple properties and have used him for numerous jobs — from small jobs changing out faucets, to large jobs tearing open walls and repairing blown pipes, water heaters etc. He’s got a wonderful personality and is extremely dependable about showing up when he says he will or calling if he’s going to be a few minutes late. I genuinely trust him and would strongly recommend him.

Chris answered the phone and scheduled the service the same day. He was very patient to answer my questions and gave me a very detailed quotation over the phone based the problem I told him. He provided me a two hour service window and informed me when the technician was on the way. Charles, the technician was very knowledgeable and reliable. He even took off his shoes before enter to my house. He examined problem and solved my drain clogged problem very fast. Good service and deserve what you paid for.

Chris answered your phone call and scheduled service fast. He gathered information, explained what might need to be done, and give you quote. Their quote is more reasonable than the «leak detection service» quoted. His guy showed up on time, finished the job quicker than originally quoted (2hrs). Thus the final bill is even cheaper. I’ll go to them again if there’s another plumbing issue! (But better not too soon…)

One day, our toilet stopped flushing. I tried plunging it and nasty sewer water started backing up into the shower. I immediately called a plumber who was more interested in charging us money than fixing the problem. I checked around and I was given a referral to Chris at Clean Rooter. Essentially, our landlord is a cheap SOB so he always cuts as many corners as possible when it comes to repairs/​remodels around the house. I coordinated with Chris the night before to show up from 7−9am and he was friendly, on-​time and helpful. After showing up, he worked hard, and fixed the problem for a very fair and reasonable price. He was able to identify the shortcuts the owner took 1) didn’t install a 2-​way clean out 2) installed the toilet drain pipe at less than a 2% grade and 3) installed a broken toilet without a flange. Chris even cleaned up the mess that was caused by him working on the job. While I hope I don’t have to deal with this for a while, I know I can count on Chris from Clean Rooter.

What would I do without you, Unilocal?
I normally go with Pacific Plumbing for any plumbing issues, but this time I thought I’d see how THEY rate with Unilocal and, to my surprise, it’s really hit & miss. Thinking it was maybe a matter of time before my luck changed, I thought I’d try someone with excellent reviews — Clean Rooter!
They were kind enough to work later than usual to accommodate my schedule. Chris’ cousin, Charles, showed up and was thankfully a nice guy (some contractors can be a bit crusty), and was just fine with my dogs who weren’t too sure they liked a stranger in the house.
The price was fair, the service was timely, and well-​done. I will use them again!

I contacted Clean Rooter and Plumbing due to their excellent reviews here on Unilocal and they definitely lived up to their reputation. I spoke with Chris on the phone and he was very friendly and professional. He was really easy to interact with and he was very responsive. I could tell right off that this was an honest outfit that puts the customer first.
The next day Charles came out to address the leak behind the drywall in my garage. I knew this was going to be a big job and I felt very confident knowing that I had someone with his expertise working on it. Charles worked hard to fix the problem and also addressed a bunch of other miscellaneous plumbing issues around the house. He went the extra mile in helping me resolve these plumbing issues and you couldn’t ask for a nicer, more pleasant person. Charles is very knowledgeable and his customer service is top notch.
I am definitely going to use Rooter Clean again for any of my plumbing needs in the future. I am extremely satisfied with them and I would Highly Recommend them for their Five Star Service!

I had a great experience with Clean Rooter on April 17, 2014. My kitchen sink was clogged up. I had packed down some vegetable grinds from my juicer into my garbage disposable. When I ran the garbage disposable it just spat out the remaining water and wouldn’t drain. I even tried the plunger! I read some reviews on Unilocal and decided to call Clean Rooter. I spoke with Chris on the phone who picked up promptly. I explained what happened and be told me they can come out that day and fix it. He was very friendly on the phone. He also have me an advice to treat my garbage disposable as if I didn’t have one! Thank goodness they were available! Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to do the dishes and live with a clogged and backed up kitchen sink who knows how long! Unbearable! He told me what he would charge which I thought was reasonable. They showed up between the window of time he have me. It took them exactly an hour to fix. Apparently my pipes were clogged up from years of sludge and needed to be flushed. We ended up using high pressure water. I was glad we did it. Because it would have eventually clogged up that way with everyday use. Thank god for Unilocal and Clean Rooter! There was no way I could have fixed it with a plunger or Draino! Thank you Clean Rooter!

Had a difficult job checked with many other plumbers with 5 stars here for estimates chose clean rooters for their prompt response fixed the problem in 3 – 4 hours after many weeks we still haven’t seen a drop of water leaking fantastic price at a fraction of what other guys quoted this is an excellent plumber will recommend them to anyone i care about thanks!!!

Quick, knowledgeable and fair. I used them a couple of times, once for the clogged sewer line, once for a broken water line. Both times happy with the diagnosis/​repair/​price/​recommendations.

We’ve had to use Clean Rooter twice, and have had a good experience both times. After repeated clogged toilets, we had another plumber come fix them and he suggested that the best option was to spend $ 2000 to replace the old toilets. We had Clean Rooter come for a second opinion, and they told us (correctly) that there was no way to tell yet (given the clogged pipes) whether it was the pipes and toilets or just pipes. Essentially, he charged us $ 135 to clear the pipes and told us we needed to wait a month or two to see if the problem resolved, rather than wasting $ 2000. He’s our go-​to plumber now, because he’s honest, friendly, helpful, and affordable. In addition, he’s been able to come same-​day both times. I highly recommend Clean Rooter!

Chris is awesome! We had a sewer clog on a Saturday morning, and being newish homeowners, we had no idea where our cleanout was. Not only did he show us both cleanouts, but he determined the clog was in the city’s side of the sewer, saving us thousands of dollars. He even came back on his own time to help us cut off the cleanout cap that had a sheared nut. He’s a lifesaver!

Again, Clean Rooter saved the day.
Had an accident of pouring fiber power, and clogged the my kitchen sink. Called several plumbers who were either fully booked, or no one picked up phone. Clean Rooter was available for the same morning service, and came in to fix the problem on time.

Our kitchen and garage drains clogged on the weekend — after bottles and bottles of chemical stuff, they weren’t really better, so we called the plumbers who replaced our water-​main a few years ago, and they recommended Chris & Clean Rooter. Christ came out that day — injured ankle & using a rolling walker to get around.
Took him a bunch longer than average, as we had a soft clog that would fill back in behind the snake, but he took the time to debug it and clear it out, and gave us a fair price. Would definitely recommend him to all my friends and family.

We had an urgency yesterday; I called late morning, and they were there in about an hour. The service guy was courteous, professional, and explained anything I asked. Great service and would use them again — thank you!

There’s a huge problem with this sort of service, in that we ordinary people never actually know what the problem is, or how expensive it should be to fix it. Used car salesman, lawyers, even medical doctors, have the same problem. How do you find someone you can trust?
Well, with Chris and Clean Rooter, you will not have that problem. I have asked him for assistance and advice on numerous occasions — with two dogs, and two cats, plumbing issues are unfortunately common — and he has yet to charge me any significant amount (because it has gotten to the level of requiring any heavy duty equipment). I don’t know how he makes money doing this, but it’s a pretty unique and appreciated style of business.
The measure of a valuable service is when you feel that you owe the person more, after they’ve done their job. I’ve felt that way every time with Chris. Thanks buddy!

Great service at a fair price!

Chris from Clean Rooter and Plumbing came to our house to investigate and resolve a plumbing clog that was backing up into our shower and causing all kinds of systemic issues (making it impossible to shower, do dishes and even use ‘the facilities’). What a nightmare!
Chris responded to our call for help and came out asap. He found the root cause of the clog (literally the cause was roots growing into our waste line), fixed the problem and made recommendations to prevent it moving forward.
All told, he was prompt, responsive and very reasonable.
We will for sure use Clean Rooter for all our future clean out needs.
