«I was walking in the park and this guy waved at me. Then he said, ‘I’m sorry, I thought you were someone else.’ I said, ‘I am.’ «– Demetri Martin Chynoweth Park(CP) is yet another notch on the ever-growing laundry list of «meh» neighborhood parks that afflicts CSJ. Situated in a suspect neighborhood, and just up the road from the Dolce Hayes Mansion, this ±2.4 acre park leaves a lot to be desired. There’s really not much going on at CP, but –in case you care– here’s a list: –Street parking only –No restrooms –Non-reservable picnic tables w/BBQ Pits –Tiny Tot Lot and swings –Decent-sized grassy area for sports, that’s not in the best condition – which is SOP for CSJ. CP was most likely built as a turn-key project meant to satisfy the Parkland Dedication Ordinance( ); whatever the case, unless you live close by I would skip this dump, and move up the road a piece to the newly opened Martial Cottle Park.
