I don’t know what is with downtown San Jose So I had a refill, I went in there I don’t know … about 15 — 20 minutes later to refill my cup(medium) the manager looks at me and says once you leave you can come back. I literally went outside to go and get something that I was meeting up with… I like how they have the Mexican with the burgers I’m not gonna complain about the food but the customer service sucks

Wow. First thing I noticed was the smell — moldy, don’t know how else to describe it… not pleasant. Just being there made me feel dirty. The tables were probably not wipped down and were terribly sticky(gross).

Went in today and was surprised with most of the sodas not ready/working. No root beer, Cherry coke, ex. only power aid. I asked if there will be some soon and they said they completely ran out! ?? What?! Very dirty restrooms. Even the door from the inside look like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. No parking validations available cause they ran out. I know there was an event today nearby but they should prepare for good business traffic. Most businesses do. Not impressed. San Jose downtown and all around the city isn’t a slump or getto city. This place should get there act together at this location. :/

The guy at the counter at 7:20PM today who tried to make me buy something to use the restroom, understandable, but then proceeded to say that in downtown San Jose EVERYWHERE is buy something and NO public restrooms is a jerk. There’s a public restroom 2 minutes to the left leaving the store. Tourist like me and my friend from Japan, beware! Also, I don’t think I’ve ever seen tips requested at a Carl’s Jr. It makes me wonder if they’re paying their workers below minimum

On 10⁄22 me and the wife eat at the you burger joint and had a the Mile high ½ lb. We were both very disappointed with this hamburger. It looked nothing like the picture with lots of crispy looking bacon piled high. There was hardly any bacon and it was not crisp. The server said we use bacon bits! We said bacon bits, no restaurant uses bacon bits not even fast food hamburger joints! I called to complain and she said I well have someone contact you that did not happen! Called again she said she well escalate this complaint, still waiting. I thought they would send us a couple of coupons for two free burgers or something! If it was a $ 1.00 hamburger who cares but a $ 11.00 bucks!

The squeak, the peer, and the seer… Another review mentioned the squeak and the crazies. The crying baby and the guy who dropped trau and peed next to the pickup window was unique as well. Ambiance. Can’t buy this. Well, you wouldn’t. I need a shower. This places makes me hope i didnt pick up anything along with my togo order. Ugh. There is a distinct feel of scumminess that this location has.

Should have known better than to patronize a downtown carls. Terrible, terrible service after their credit card reader was down. They would do nothing for me. Never going there again.

Came here because Good Karma was closed(at 11:15am…freaking hippies). Well, then I decided screw it and ordered from their Green Burrito menu. A steak quesadilla and steak nachos. I hate myself a little bit.

I’m actually kind of glad this Carl’s Jr. exists because it validates my review that the one by Coleman is mysteriously better than most Carl’s Jr’s. Anyway. This particular Carl’s Jr is fairly large, which Is kind of a relief because it attracts all the downtown crazies. Note that this would be a plus for people watching, but really a minus because every goddamn person is staring at you, the one weirdo in Carl’s Jr. wearing a collared shirt. Also there’s an incessant squeaking noise emanating from inside the kitchen, which I thought I could tune out, but nope, apparently it has a resonant frequency to all my childhood nightmares. That’s not great either. In short: subpar burgers, terrifying ambiance, but entertaining clientele. It’s a fast food place in Downtown San Jose — what’d you expect?

It is what it is. Normally it would be a two star to me, but since its open late night and has kind of a walk in drive through it deserves three stars!

Ideal downtown location so I come here a lot. I love Green Burrito and Carl’s Jr. items too. How can you not love bean & cheese burritos with curly fries?! You walk in and there’s panhandlers around but they leave you alone most of the time. They just add to the fast food vibe, if you ask me. My order has always been correct and speedy. Did I mention I looooove burritos? Avoid the salsa bar because it looks decrepit but no one comes here for pico de gallo, anyway. Their server Benjamin is always very pleasant and helpful. Best place for downtown fasty foods.

The slowest & worst service ive ever had. Screw up on just about every order. Went in for a promotion of a free 6 dollar burger with a 20 dollar gift card, they managed not to add a full 20 dollars on the card… Manager had no answers and went about charging me for the rest of my meal despite me only using the card once ever. Never eating there again.

This was just bad. Went on Sunday afternoon. First thing I noticed is that the garbage cans were all overflowing, like they haven’t been emptied since the morning. There was even spillover to the floor on one. When I got to the front of the restaurant and saw into the kitchen I could also see overflowing bins in the pack from food prep all day. Definitely should have just walked out at that point but sitting on public transit for 3 hours got me hungry. Took me about 10 minutes to order because the shift lead seemed to be having issues with the registers. But it was mostly because she would take one order, and disappear for 2 – 3 minutes with no one else on registers. She was also dressed in a tacky sweatshirt which seemed odd considering theres a uniform requirement for most fast food places. After ordering I went and sat in the jumble of tables and chairs of the dining room. The floor was sticky in places and there seemed to be no order of where the tables were originally placed. While I was waiting for food a new rush of customers appeared. Every customer in the rush recieved their food before I had to go back to the counter and pester for my order which had been sitting in a heat lamp for 10 minutes(Carl’s JR walks food out to tables like restaurant service). The food was meh(which is ok, I honestly don’t mind bad burgers). But the location had ran out of fries which is odd considering that fries are the second most ordered thing at most fast food places(you know… next to burgers). TLDR, this place has sanitation issues which I will be reporting. For a city area trying to cleanse its image of dirtiness, this restaurant is most assuredly not helping.

Right across light rail and bus stops, if you’re bus/train isn’t coming for another 10/15mins, good place for fast food. Only complaint is the people that sit around outside this establishment.

A chain in downtown San Jose tends to lower my expectations walking in the door so I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean, well-lit establishment that didn’t resemble a hostel. It’s a good thing. An attendant has to open to door to the restroom. I suppose the benefit to that is it’s a clean bathroom. yay! Oh yeah, food. I tried the jalapeño turkey burger. It was brought to my table promptly and it was tasty. I’m really not sure if it’s a «healthy alternative» to a regular burger, but it was good on its own merits. Totally worth a reorder.

It’s a Carl’s Jr. but for me it was also a reunion. I live in Virginia now where we have Hardee’s(Carl’s Jr. for the East) but there are some important favorites that Hardee’s doesn’t have: the Western Bacon Cheeseburger and Fried Zucchini. This Carl’s came through and made me happy. Service was fast and friendly, food was freshly prepared, and the place was clean. I have no other requirements for a fast food restaurant.

This is a good location to prep yourself for the trip elsewhere, after you’ve been to the pubs or restaurants around the S First St area. It is good for you and for the public’s safety. And, can get their greasy foods if still inclined! The restroom is free usage, with purchase. $ 1.49 for a coffee. $ 1.69 for a Vitamin Water XXX Anti-Oxidant. Milestone: the 5,000th «Cool» vote’s review, lol.
