Business Owner

Mark has been in the flooring industry his whole life. His father was an installer and taught him to install. He went through the local apprenticeship program after high school and continued to install all types of flooring for nearly 15 years. Then, he worked as a rep for various manufacturers for about 14 years. Lastly, he spent some time honing his sales skills and learning more about the retail side of the business to prepare for his current role. Now, he is the owner and head salesman here at Bitticks Carpets & Interiors.

This is a great small business. The selection of materials is extensive; prices are reasonable; staff is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. They have over several years installed hardwood flooring, vinyl for my kitchen and carpet. The pay attention to details. I highly recommend them.

Very knowledgeable, friendly, and reasonably-​priced family business (Mark’s been doing this stuff forever). Pulled up all the old nasty carpet in a vintage home I bought, and restored the beautiful hardwood floors underneath. And they squeezed me into their busy schedule, because I had to move in soon.

Just bought first house and needed carpet in the lounge. Bitticks were great. Stephanie helped me choose some likely samples in the showroom and talked me through ideas and delivery times on several carpets (as I was on a deadline). The owner came out soon after to show me those samples in my home and take measurements. The carpet was installed exactly when I needed and the installation guys were great — timely, respectful, and boy did they work hard! Prices were competitive. and carpet looks lovely. Would definitely use them again!

Outstanding customer service!
I needed a small carpet (only about 2 ft. by 5 ft.) to replace the ancient one in my tiny closet. I called Conklin Brothers first; they said they’d sell a remnant of a larger size for well over $ 50 and I’d need cut the carpet myself. S&G Carpet was a bit more accommodating but I’d have to visit their warehouse about 10 miles away. I then called Bittick’s, which is only about a mile away from my place. Stephanie answered and said that Hector was available and could cut a carpet to the desired dimensions. I visited the shop, and within ten minutes … voila! A 2 ft. by 5 ft. carpet for my closet at a very modest price! Both Stephanie and Hector were courteous and friendly, which is remarkable since they weren’t making much $$$ off my request. But I guess this illustrates the distinct advantage of local small businesses — good, friendly customer service. You can bet I’ll seriously consider Bittick’s when I have a large carpeting project in mind.

They are the ones to see if you need someone who really knows flooring. The big retailers can sell you something easy enough, but Mark really has the experience to help you find a solution. Our solution turned out to be something I didn’t even know existed. His crew was GREAT! When it was all done, I checked it out and it was the perfect look.

They did a great job all the way around. I now have beautiful, new carpet after years of living with old carpet in my house. Mark, the owner, did a great job walking me through the decision-​making process, purchase and installation. It was clear to me that customer service is their highest priority. I would use Bittick’s again for that reason, and I highly recommend them to anyone with high standards and expectations. They even came back to provide a free sample bottle of carpet cleaner product in the event of a future spill (due to boys and dogs!). Thank you Bitticks. :-)

I’d like to thank Marty and Bitticks Carpets for the outstanding job putting hardwood floors throughout my home. My family was out of the country at the time. Marty facilitated the whole process and when we came home… well it looked like a new home. Additionally, my wife and I wanted to go with a smooth hardwood, but Marty recommended a scraped look since we have a 2.5 year old. So when he drops something on the floor it’s character building instead of a blemish. Good eye for the long term. Strongly recommend.

Hector, Steph and Mark are amazing. They give good advice on the pros and cons of different materials. That helps, since they have a massive selection of materials to choose from. We are very happy with their prices and quality of work. Our new wood floors look terrific. Mark gave us several pieces of advice that saved us a lot of money. The fact that we spent much less money than we initially planned, based on his advice, did not deter him from sharing that information with us. It’s a family run business, and they have a lot of integrity. I recommend them with flying colors.
