Bay Area Tan – Mobile Spray Tanning

Once AGAIN… the BEST spray tan ever! Karissa makes you look and feel like a Rockstar! I have been getting spray tans from her for years, and she is THE ONLY SPRAY TAN person you should consider. It’s no big deal to her… she shows up, sets up her equipment, sprays you, and goes. Tell her what your goals are with your tan, and she will get creative with you. Hands down, THE BEST!

I booked an apt Thursday night for a 9am mobile spray tan… at 7am I get an email that she is canceling that she saw I booked my appointment last night but her car was in the shop and that all her equipment is in there as well. Problem 1. You knew the night prior your vehicle was in the shop and she did not bother to call that night. I was on a strict time line for a wedding. I was charged twice for no services rendered. She said she would refund my money and My money was refunded and after it was i forgot about this review but got an email from her saying it was bullshit and unfair. I only wish it could have been brought to my attention with a please and kind words rather than a attack. I am sure those that receive her tans are nothing short of satisfied. I was not because of a series of unfortunate events. I just believe it could have been handled in a more business appropriate format. I change my review from 1 star to 3 for my money being returned and for her due diligence at making sure her business Unilocal page is as accurately portrayed as possible. If i was to get a spray tan from her possibly my review would change and more stars would be added.

This is my 2^nd tan from Karissa and I have not been disappointed yet! She’s really easy and professional to work with. Only took 15 minutes max to come into my house to set up the equipment, spray, pack and leave. Awesome service.

Karissa was great! She came in, set up her equipment, sprayed me, and left all within about 15 minutes! She couldn’t have been nicer or more knowledgeable about spray tanning. The tan turned out great! And I’m an avid spray tanner for many years now so I know my stuff on the subject! Her price point is also very reasonable for coming to your home, $ 60. She was a bit late for our appointment but she kept me updated on her status which was much appreciated, and lets face it, its hard to stay on time with mobile services anyway! I will definitely recommend her services to all my friends and family!

I am astounded! Made an appointment online. Got several texts and email confirmations. No-​show!
Sent her an email and left a voicemail. She texted back to reschedule for 4 days later. Send her a text the evening before to confirm. She texted back saying yes. No show!
Do not waste your time, especially if you are tanning for a special occasion. She might be good if she actually showed up, but that is kind of key to running a business.

Karissa is awesome! Hire her if you want an amazing and natural looking tan! She is great to work with and extremely professional!

I am absolutely in love with Bay Area Tan!!! I am a bikini competitor and needed a pre spray before heading to Vegas. Karissa was amazingly easy to set up an appointment with and took the time to explain the process and spray me evenly. I was the perfect shade heading into competition. There are a lot of spray tan companies that rush you and your color just doesnt come out right. Karissa is great pre, during and post spray. Now I just need her to start spraying for competition! Do NOT put down the partial $ 30 deposit when you book online!!! She does NOT show up! As of right now I have been flaked on two nights in a row for my mobile spray tan! Karissa contacted me last night 1 hour prior to our scheduled appointment and flaked out. I immediately had a bad feeling about her but when I asked, She guaranteed me she would be here today at 5:15 and never showed up or responded to my messages! So as of right now I am out $ 30 and my vacation is ruined?! I will figure out how to get my money back!

I made an appointment with Karissa and she never showed up. She didn’t even give me a courteous call and when I called her she didn’t answer. I needed this spray tan for a photoshoot and now it is too late for me to get one. Just unprofessional.

1 week later and my spray tan looks PERFECT! Karissa came at 8:00 on a Sunday morning and worked her magic in my living room. It could be quite disconcerting to disrobe in front of someone you just met, but Karissa instantly put me at ease. I have very fair skin and she mixed the perfect color — it looks amazing! I’ve had so many spray tans and this is by far the best. I was afraid of being orange after rinsing, but the color was perfect and looked very natural.
I love the convenience of having her come to my home and wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.

This a VERRRY late post! Sorry karissa if you read this. So I was going on a bachelorette trip to Vegas and I always wanted to try tanning since there will be a lot of pool parties that weekend. I contacted karissa online on a Saturday morning and I received a call same day to get a spray tan on Sunday. Great and easy communication. She texted me the address to the location – nice area and easy parking.
When I first met Karissa easy going and she explained the process as I have never had a spray tan before. Also FYI my skin color is pale and as much as I go in the sun I do not get tanned. She recommended the Venetian spray tan and it came out awesome!
Before coming into the appointment she does recommend to wear a sundress or maxi dress and the reason is so the tan does not rub off or have funky lines. All jewelry have to be taken off as well. She leaves it up to the customer whether you want to wear the disposable thong or swim suit. I went with the disposable thong and a REMINDER– leave the thong at the place you feel comfortable. It was my first time tanning and I had the thong pulled a little too high and didn’t notice until I hopped in the shower. You cannot shower for at least I think 6 hours later. I texted karissa telling her my concern that the thong line was too high and I might need a touch up and she was very understanding and said after the shower see how the color comes out and if the line was noticeable which it was and she was very accommodating seeing me the next morning for the touch up.
Quick response and communication. The spray tan room was small and cozy as she is the only person and sees 1 client at a time. Very accommodating and would definitely go back and recommend others. Thanks karissa!!! Happy and satisfied of the Venetian color.

Just had my first spray tan from Karissa and she was AWESOME. It was my first time ever and she explained what she was doing and why. She is funny and very down to earth. I have a great sunkissed tan and no orange color at all. I will be coming back to her for future tans for sure.

Karissa is the owner and she is super nice and easy to work with. I had to get a spray tan before a photoshoot and she was really efficient and made sure it was perfect. She even offered a complimentary touch up job for me the day before the photoshoot in case I wanted to be more tan. The whole process was quick and easy and she made me feel very comfortable. Karissa is very accommodating, friendly and does a great job! She knows how to make the color look right for your skin tone and is detailed oriented. I’ve received several spray tans from her on numerous occasions and all have looked great. I continue to go back and I definitely recommend!

Bay Area Tan was just what I was looking for. I wanted a quick, simple tan and a lot of the other places I researched had 5+ different packages and things and I couldn’t tell what I would be paying extra for. On top of her reasonable prices the website was clear and easy to navigate unlike those of other tanning salons.
After rinsing, I am so happy with my tan! I was afraid of being orange but Karissa did an amazing job. I felt comfortable and she seemed very knowledgeable on the process and products involved and it shows in the tan. I am definitely going back to her and telling all my friends not to waste their time with other places!

Karissa is amazing!!! I have had two spray tans from Karissa and she is amazing! So professional, friendly, and efficient. Karissa was so understanding when I was a couple minutes late for my appointment which was beyond cool. She did an amazingly smooth, flawless airbrush tan both times. Thank you Karissa!

She started off with a great consultation, checking out the tone of my skin in order to insure that she would pick the correct tone for me. She also asked a few questions about how I tan in the sun and if I have any rough spots or rashes she should be aware of. I thought this was great as a lot of spray technicians will just jump right in there treating your skin the same as anyone else.
She worked quickly but was extremely thorough. She is very detail oriented and quite the perfectionist (which is EXACTLY what I want in my spray technician).
The solution dried very quickly which was great.
After showering the next day I absolutely loved the color of my tan. Nice and bronzey brown, no orange. There were no streaks or weird dots which I’ve experienced in the past from other places. The tan lasted a full week before I noticed any fading.
She also did an excellent job on my feet, hands, neck and face which can sometimes be tricky. It all blended well and looked very natural. Well, as natural as a deep tan in February can look anyway ;)
Karissa is great and I can’t wait to go back again!
