Great pkace clean and the massages are awesome! You feel like new when you get out of there. We went with my boyfriend and he loved it too!

This is my favorite foot massage place in the area! Great price and most everyone I’ve had there gives an amazing massage.

BLUF: The definition of you get what you pay for. A good cheap massage parlor if that is what you are looking for. Anything fancier, you’re in the wrong place.
I’m going to be doing this review a little differently with a short intro and then a list of pros and cons.
I was recently at Back N Balance to take advantage of their $ 20, 1 hour massage therapy. As soon as you walk in, theres a small reception area where you pay up front. Once you go into the back, there is a large dimly lit room with multiple beds in a row.
Pros:
–cheap. You won’t get a massage for this amount of time at the relative quality anywhere else
–convenient. Back N Balance is in Cahalan square near Santa Teresa high school.
Cons:
–small. The entire parlor is one open area with multiple beds in a row.
–loud. You can hear people entering and exiting as well as the masseuses talking amongst themselves
–cheap. Cheap materials. As soon as I walked in, I noticed that they did not use any oils or fragrances, rather plain lotion. Each bed had a Costco sized bottle of lotion next to them which they used instead of oils. It was incredibly uncomfortable getting my face and head lathered with lotion.
Overall, I won’t be returning although it is quite cheap since it was not the quality I was looking for. Also, definitely not somewhere to bring someone to impress.

Amazing experiences here. Vicky and David are one of the best masseuses there. Staff is really nice and they’re all very good and have their own techniques.
Definitely recommendable. I have been at least ten times already, brought different friends with me and they all love it. Super affordable and great quality!

Moon did my $ 20 foot massage in the chair. I prefer strong hands and pressure and not when the masseuse uses their forearms as much. He was amazing! Place was clean. My friend said her massage was mediocre. I’ll be back for sure.

Came here twice the first time iwould of gaven it a 5 stars really friendly and nice but second time i came here as iwas filling out a paper on how iwanted my massage i put easy igot a guy he did a really bad job he was going to tough on my back haven’t been back since! they also follow you out the door for tips lol

The massage was good and relaxing. I took my mom and mother in law here. I am giving 2 reviews because, when I paid upfront
with my ATM, I added a tip at that time. As we were leaving, the gentleman in the front walked up to me and said «Tips, Tips, did you leave tips?» I said yes I already did when I paid with my atm. Then he said «what about your moms tip?» Good business practice is to NOT ask for a tip!!! and even more so, I left a tip on the receipt when I paid upfront with my atm. HORRIBLE business practice.

I just moved to the area and had hurt my back in during the move. I was fortunate enough to have Vicky for a one hour table massage (best $ 40 I’ve spent in a long time)! She worked wonders on my back, and the rest of me for that matter. I can’t wait to go back!

I went in for a foot massage but got a full body and it was wonderful! They start with the head, and if you have a headache go to this place! They can relieve anything! The place is clean and friendly. I wish I could go everyday!

I usually love this place, but today was very disappointed. I came in and they were full (which is great for them) and was told to come back in an hour. When I did come back in an hour as I was told she told me they didn’t have room. They still get 3 stars for past experience but wasting my time today by me having to come back twice and still not getting a massage loses stars for sure.

The place is Very clean which is an important factor. Service is done professionally and it worked. Will definitely go back. Thanks Unilocal for helping me finding this place.

First time here with Vicky and she was amazing! Best $ 20 investment ever. She worked out knots in my neck after a long 2 days day of giving hand massages at SB50 VIP lounge. Best ME time for a walk in appointment. Tipped generously ($ 20) since she’s my go to person from now on! She earned it! Would rate this one my my favorites from all the ones I’ve tried.

I like this place and come here a lot. It’s definitely my favorite of these types of spas. The staff is always extremely friendly, the room is always cozy and warm and everything is clean. I’ve had a couple so-​so massages, but most of the time they have been really good. And you can’t beat $ 20 for an hour long massage!

I went here yesterday afternoon with my girlfriend. We didn’t really have to wait to be seen so that was nice. I got the full table massage for $ 40 and so did she. We were each led into separate rooms that were curtained off. I had a male masseur, which I was a little worried about since I’ve had an awkward encounter at another establishment, but my massage was not awkward at all here. He was of course very professional. He also gave a good firm massage without it being too hard. I felt like he got a feel for where my body was he most sore and paid attention to those spots – my shoulder area and lower back. The environment was also very quiet and peaceful. I think I fell asleep a couple times.
The only thing that I think could’ve improved is that they use Lubriderm lotion – which, don’t get me wrong, isn’t a bad lotion, but I thought it would be something more exotic or at least be put in a more presentable container. Maybe they have to worry about skin sensitivity to fragrances. Maybe I’m just being too picky. Also, even though I got the table massage a quick 5 minute foot soak or massage would’ve been a nice addition. I felt bad he had to touch my feet at all after a full day or work. But my massage was great and I’ll definitely go back.

My favourite foot spa. I gave up going to my old foot spa after too many mediocre massages. So happy I found this place. David is the best!!! And they have an English speaking receptionist… bonus. $ 20 well spent!

Been here once so far but I’d say it’s better than Life Reflexology. My husband and I were frequent visitors to Life Reflexology and they’re great when it’s not busy, but they’re often busy and always overbook. Back N Balance is nice, you make an appointment and they actually keep that appointment. The door is closed so it’s really quiet inside. Only issue I had during my massage was the loud thumping from the pizza place next door but that’s not really Back N Balance’s fault. Plus it was still hard for me to stay awake during my massage since I was so relaxed!

Love this place! Best $ 20 ever spent. Everyone there is so friendly and professional. It’s always quiet and super relaxing. Highly recommend it.

I cam here yesterday and had a terrible time. My shoulder has been hurting me for a few days and I decided to get a massage. Well I paid for the $ 40 table massage.
They took me to this private room and I sat on the table, waiting to speak to my person. When he came he told me to lay down with my face facing down. I wanted to speak to him about the massage and why I was even there in the first place. I tried to speak to him but he seemed to become irritated and told me his English wasn’t good and told me to lay down again.
I tried one more time to ask him a question but he became angry with me, grunted at me and pointed to the table. At that point I was just going to walk out, which I should have but I decided just to try it anyways.
The massage itself was terrible. It hurt the entire time and the man just felt like he was making up something random and it didn’t help at all. I tried to explain to him twice that he was hurting me and asked him to be softer but it never helped. I was hoping that it would get better at some point and it never did. I almost just walked out like 100 times and said never mind keep the money.
It was overall just a big disappointment because my shoulder/​back still hurts and I am out $ 40. Also, in the beginning of the massage, they give you this paper that asks what you would like and I felt like the man did not follow it because I asked for them not to touch my face and he did it anyways and kept trying after I told him not to.
Very painful, they don’t speak English to even allow basic conversations like «softer». I will never go to this place ever again.

Can’t believe I have not written a review for this place yet. I have been going to Back N Balance for almost two years now. I always get my massages from Mark. He is amazing. I don’t even need to tell him what’s bothering me. He just knows; whether it’s my shoulder, lower back or my legs. He always does a fantastic job and puts me back on the energy train. :)
I have chronic lower back pain. I have seen so many doctors, but it has never helped. Only after I started to get my massages here, my lower back pain has stopped bothering me.
Last week I pulled a muscle in my lower back. I was in tremendous pain and could not sleep, stand or sit for two whole days. Went to the doctor and he sent me back with pain killers. I immediately called Back N Balance and made an appointment for an hour long massage followed by a tuina therapy. Let’s just say, they saved my back as well as my life. I did not have to take single pain medication after that and the pain completely went away.
For anybody with lower back pain, I strongly recommend their tuina therapy.
Plus they give a balance combo massage free after 10 massages, which is awesome. :)

At $ 20, an hour-​long massage only needs to be halfway decent in order to be good value for the money. Thankfully Back N Balance is way better than that, and was able to take care of a 3-​day-​old tension headache, so easily scores 5 stars from me.
I showed up close to the 10am opening on a Saturday morning, and pretty much had the place to myself. I was greeted cheerfully by the woman at the desk, and we made our way haltingly (not much English) through the administrative stuff — what type of massage do you want, how firm do you like the pressure, and are there any parts of your body you don’t want the therapist to touch? I paid the $ 20 upfront — a little odd — and was immediately seated in one of the towel-​covered recliners.
It was a pleasant, uneventful massage — their specialty is Tui Na, which features stretching, gentle shaking, and rhythmic pressure on certain spots. I turned on my back for the final 20 minutes’ focus on shoulders and back, and asked the masseuse to use firmer pressure. I winced through some especially tight spots on my upper & middle back, which was immensely satisfying. I left feeling refreshed, headache-​free, and ready to start my day.
