Honest. I come here from Sunnyvale for Tai. Worth the drive/​wait.
He doesn’t play games like trying to jack up your bill or expand the scope of repairs. Treats everyone the same. Doesn’t look at women or someone with less knowledge as an additional sales opportunity like the people at higher volume sales places.
This is the only person I refer my friends to. Especially for smog checks. Smog Checks can be a big scam

Expensive place, $ 85.00 for a check engine light when most places charge you between 40 and 50 dlls.

Tai is the man. dose not talk too much but gets the job done. wife and I go there for oil change and other maintenance. The shop is located on capital expy down the street from auto mall. Easy access for the shop to get the job done faster with less wait time.

The best thing I can say is Tai is good peeps.

I don’t have a go-​to mechanic but I think I’ve found one.
I came in to get one of my cars smogged and the service couldn’t be any easier or better. The whole process was quick and painless. He talked me through the procedure as he was performing the smog check and was willing to answer my questions about other services I might need (CV boot replacement, suspension work on my other car.)
I’m not a mechanic but I’ve worked on my car enough to know if he was BS.
I’d definitely come back and send my friends and family. That’s the best endorsement I could give.

Tai is the BEST! He is very knowledgeable, honest, fair and really likes what he does! All that in a mechanic? Are you kidding? The BEST! His shop can handle all of your automotive repair needs… ALL! I’ve taken everything from my 06′ M5 to an older Jeep Wrangler to him… He can handle it all. I won’t take my vehicles anywhere else… I know they will be repaired right the first time, every time. I honestly cannot say enough good things… Thank you Tai!!!

5 stars all the way. I have brought my car to Tai for the past 3 years for oil changes, maintenance, and advice. From the very start he has been nothing but honest with me. His prices are also very reasonable. On a number of occasions I have gotten a quote from my dealership and then gone to Tai who performed the same service for hundreds of dollars less. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get great service at a fair price.

Tai has been taking care of cars for a long time!!! When I moved to the Santa Cruz area, there was no question where I would go if I needed work done on my cars.
Tai is very straight forward. He’ll tell you very quickly what is wrong, what needs to be done, and what the costs are. He explains things in simple terms so that things makes sense. Because I am not familiar with the workings of a car, prior to meeting Tai, the biggest concern for me was getting repairs I did not need. I have never gotten that feeling with Tai. He will usually point things out that he sees as potential problems down the road, and leaves it to me to make call whether or not to do repairs right away or wait a little longer.
If you need a good, honest mechanic, go to Tai.

Awesome!!! Tai really knows his stuff! I’m not much into cars so when I have a problem I just need it fixed as smooth as possible. Tai has fixed my headlight, performed smog check, transmission, tune up, oil change, and a host of little problems being that we have a large family with many cars. I heart u Tai.

I took my Lexus to this neighbor hand car wash. Before it changed ownership this was a great place for a decent wash, when I didn’t have time to go to my regular place. Well I made a Terrible mistake. When the wash was complete I returned to my vehicle and noticed the double console cup holder had been broken. My husband reported the damage Immediately to the owner and he made nothing but excuses,“how do You know we broke it, it was a mistake; we are not responsible for damage”! What happen good customer servce or simply taking
responsbility for their actions. I would nt recommend this owners attitude,
his lack of integity or customer service. Take your cars somewhere else. CUSTOMER BEWARE!

This is a great place to get a smog check/​certification. What really impressed me about their service was that they had to move all these cars around just to do the smog procedure with my truck. Out of three garage ports, there’s only one stall that had the smog equipment. So the mechanics started swapping cars out of garage stalls, into their little parking lot, and back into another stall… just to accommodate mine. After moving cars around, the procedure went fairly quick. We didn’t even have to wait long to receive electronic confirmation from the state. Smog inspection costs $ 29.99. I ended up paying $ 39.99 total due to state certification and a smog electronic tranfer fee.
Tai has a wealth of knowledge about auto mechanics. He’s also a very down-​to-​earth guy that you can trust. Auto Capitol Service is located in the Valero (now American) gas station on Snell and Capitol Expressway. They do full service foreign and domestic auto repair. They’re open everyday except for Sundays.
