I came in the day before Halloween and Van was able to squeeze me in and make sure my costume was ready in time. She was very friendly and attentive in how I wanted it altered, and gave me options to save money.
The store is also very welcoming and well-​kept compared to other alterations/​dry cleaning places, I love it!

Van is absolutely amazing. I brought over a dress that needed altering the day of my event and she was so helpful and willing and charged me a very reasonable price. She definitely took the headache and stress I had away! Thank you so much Van! I definitely will come back with all my alterations!

Great place & affordable prices! Van was such a great help when I went in to get my pants fixed. They had ripped in the groin area. She saved my wallet from taking a great big ding. & the best thing about it she was able to have it done in a few hrs from drop off. I will always recommend this place to friends and family. I am soo happy I found this place via Unilocal!I am getting married on August 1^st and needed a place to give me a great deal on alterations and dry cleaning with quality work. I met with Van (the seamstress) for a consultation, she showed me what she was working on and they looked excellent! I told her I was bringing in one of my bridesmaid dress first before I bring my own wedding dress as a trial lol. She did FLAWLESS, I mean just amazing quality compared to even the maker’s original hem! I was in disbelief when I was looking at the original hem in the trash comparing it to the new hem she’s made on the gf’s dress! I told my whole bridal party to come to her, and I brought my $ 5000 Mori Lee wedding dress for her to fit for me too. I can’t wait to pick it up next week, and will be posting pictures!
I highly recommend coming to see Van for alternations. She quoted me very reasonable prices for my bridesmaid’s long dresses and my complicated beaded/​lace poofy wedding dress. I know her workmanship is also worth it from seeing her previous work for me, and the anticipation is killing me! I am soo excited to have her fitting the most important dress of my life! Thank you Van!

I brought in two shirts that I wanted shortened by 3 inches. I asked the employee how much it would cost to perform the alterations, and she said $ 15 per shirt. $ 15 to shorten a shirt by 3 inches ($ 30 for 2 shirts)? Really? I said, «Never mind» and proceeded to walk out the door. She then countered with $ 12 as I reached the door. I again said, «Never mind» and drove away.
Another tailor, just a mile away, said it would be only $ 7 each! Since I had had positive experiences with that other tailor, I decided to hand my shirts over to her for the alterations. The cost of the extra travel is minuscule compared to the $ 10-​$ 16 I would have been overcharged by Alteration & Cleaners.
As for ratings, this establishment deserves only 1 star for its outlandish fee for simple alterations. However, the employee did try to negotiate down (albeit unsuccessfully), so I decided a 2-​star rating is fair and reasonable.

Horrible place… I took a skirt in to be altered and have belt loops put on for my work uniform and the first day I put the skirt on the seam was coming out and the belt loops were crooked. They also but a loop in the front center. I paid $ 45 to get this done when they originally quoted me $ 20. When I took it back to be fixed they told me they were going to charge me to fix it. Why should I get charged for their mistake. This company is a joke and a RIP OFF!!! I will never go back.

I bought a pair of green Zara leggings that I absolutely loved but had an ankle zipper that broke randomly on the very first use. I was heartbroken and if I had gotten to use it for more than one time (ha ha) I probably would have been less inclined to get them fixed. Either way, I went into this place thinking I was just going to ask them to remove the zipper and seal up that side since it wasn’t that visible anyway (or even do the same to the other side since they weren’t essential to them fitting).
I was very pleased when the lady here told me that she could seal up the broken side and yet keep the original zipper clasp there so it was unnoticeable. In total the job was $ 12 (for resealing $ 7 + hemming of one side $ 5). She stated she wanted to save me money and that she would make it so that it appeared the two sides matched.
I believe the alterations lady for my job (Vien, VN ?) was only available on Monday and Wednesday mornings. When I picked up the finished product this morning I was pleased that the original hem was kept, and it could be hardly noticed that the zipper on one side didn’t work. With legging material I feel like it’s pretty hard to fix without being super obvious, but the job was done real well.
CASH ONLY and must pay at the time of drop off, which made me a bit nervous. Overall, a bit pricy but I don’t regret taking this job to a professional. I am super happy that I will get to use these pants again!

I wanted to like this place as everyone was very friendly and nice. However, they charged me $ 12 to shorten the straps on a dress, did it incorrectly and then it broke!
The alternation was simple, shortening a spaghetti strap, and that could be why they were so careless. I tried the dress on in store to indicate how much I higher I wanted the straps. The tailor quickly glanced at the neckline, made a quick mark with chalk and then signaled she was done. I tried to double check and make sure she knew how much to shorten it but she didn’t seem to think it was important.
I tried it on again when I picked it up and immediately saw that it was too high. They did not cut the strap and merely resewed it so readjusting would have been easy but I didn’t have the extra day for that. Next time I will schedule in an extra 1 – 2 days for adjustments but I can’t help but feel that for something so simple, that shouldn’t be necessary. Had the tailor spent more than 30 seconds paying attention to me it would have been done correctly the first time.
And to top it all off… the strap BROKE! I wore the dress as I had no other but could feel that it was far too tight on chest. It gave way an hour and a half into my night. I had barely entered the venue so I wasn’t doing anything that would have even strained it.
If you do come here, be VERY clear and forceful about what you want and make sure they are paying attention or else you may end up very unhappy with the result.

The only con is that you have to pay before picking it up. So there’s no say after, but I was still very much satisfied with my jacket.

This is a great place with quick service. I needed to get my suit ironed for a wedding and it was last minute. I just took it over and they were able to iron it and make it presentable within 30 mins.
I haven’t tried the alteration or dry cleaning services yet.

I would like to recommend Alteration Cleaners. I have been going for about 3 years now and the owner has always provided great service. Her dry cleaning rates are the best in the area and I have never been disappointed with her service. She does excellent hem work and is always very accommodating to your schedule. I would recommend her Cleaners to anyone who is cost concious and looking for a consistent dependalble cleaner. My clothes are always ready on time and never have I had damage.

$ 2:50. Great service. I have been coming here for about a year. I use 3 different cleaner. This one seams to do the best at removing stain and they alway leave notes on my clothing to make me aware or repairs or small issues.

I have brought pants and dresses here a handful of times to be hemmed in the past 4 or 5 years and have always been happy with the results. I have also brought in pants and a jacket to be dry cleaned which I forgot about and left for almost 9 months. Even though it is clearly stated that they are not responsible for your items after 30 days my clothes we safe and sound when I finally remembered to pick them up. Most recently I needed a bridesmaids dress altered. I was very anxious about it because not only did I need the straps taken in and the dress to be hemmed but I needed the dress to be let out due to my growing pregnant belly. I brought the dress in on the 9^th and she was told me it would be ready on the 19^th. I was very nervous that my belly was going to grow too much but the dress was perfect I was able to comfortably wear the dress and eat dinner at the wedding! I will continue to bring my alteration needs here and recommend others to do the same.

Meh. I came to alter a bridesmaid dress and they did a good job but it was more expensive that I thought it would be. My friend, a fellow bridesmaid had her dress altered somewhere else and paid about $ 8 less than I.

This is my first Unilocal review, but I’ve been meaning to write one up for this place for quite some time now. The first time I came here was in July 2010 — I needed an alteration for a bridesmaids dress. The owner was very sweet and very helpful. She did a great job on the alteration, but it was just a tad bit too tight. She immediately fixed it that same day w/​no extra cost, and the dress came out perfect.
A few months later, I wanted to reuse that same bridesmaids dress for a different wedding. However, I needed to alter it again because my I was a heffer all summer long, so come November, I put on a few pounds, lol. I made the mistake of going to a different place that was a little closer to home. I don’t remember the name, but its the only one in the plaza by Nob Hill on Santa Teresa @ Snell. The service there was HORRIBLE… I tried to explain to that lady that I needed the dress taken out because I gained a little weight, so she had me put the dress on. I obviously needed help zipping it up because it was tight, so when I came out to ask for her help, she started tugging at the dress and tried to force it closed. Then she got this nasty look on her face and said «TOO TIGHT! TOO TIGHT!» and started shaking her head negatively. I looked at her and said «I know… that’s why I’m here. I need it to be taken out.» But at that point, I was already pissed off, so when I changed back into my regular clothes, instead of coming out to give her my dress, I just bounced.
I don’t know why I went there… I should’ve went straight to the place I took it to initially. I ended up calling the nice lady at Alteration & Cleaners, and told her what I needed. She was just as sweet and helpful as she was the first time, and she even remembered me and the dress from months before. She asked when I wanted to pick it up, and I smiled with embarrassment as I told her «As soon as possible because the wedding is tomorrow». But she didn’t make me feel bad at all… she jokingly said «Oh my gosh!» but she assured me that she would get it done by later that same evening!
And just as the first time, she came through for me… the dress fit perfect, and since she got it done earlier than I asked, I didn’t have to stress out the morning of the wedding!

I walked in to this EXTREMELY tiny hole in the wall dry cleaners/​alterations store, across from the bowling alley. The woman there spoke very limited English, so it was hard to communicate with her. I needed my cocktail dress tapered. She said she wouldnt touch anything with beads or sequins. So, FYI, if you have adornments on the clothing you want altered, she wont touch it.

I never knew what great work this place did until I became addicted to designer jeans. Seeing that I’m only 5’1″ and most inseams are at least 34″, finding this hole in the wall made my day! They charge $ 14 for original hems and nobody can tell that you had to have them shortened. I also had a dress that needed some fixing — hemmed and straps added, all for $ 32! Turn around time was just a few days. This is the only place I’ll go to have anything tailored.

Let’s keep it real… I like European cut clothes however… I don’t have the body type that these clothes are tailored for.

I bring in my skinny jeans that are way too long cuss I’m asianish and there is no H&M in Asia…
When I pick them back up and try them on damn playa… I feel like David Beckham going to Sankeys or Fabric.

Walking into the dimly lit storefront, I encountered an ornery man who didn’t offer much in terms of a greeting. I showed him my two items that needed tailoring and our whole exchange left me regretting my decision to not walk out with my items.
First off, I had a sweater that had a hole in the underarm. To fix this? Price = $ 5.
Second off, I had a pair of favorite sweatpants that our dog chewed two holes in. I just either needed them sewed up or patched up. The charge? $ 10! And the man said,“Well, we don’t really do things like that.” Really now? Doesn’t this place offer tailoring services?
Being surprised by the exorbitant prices, I literally said out loud, «Are you serious?» To which he did not bat one eye or smile and said, «Yes» in his monotone voice.
I then noticed a sign that indicated their business rules, cash only, and pay first. I find this to be a terrible ethic, all things considered. What if service isn’t up to par? Anyway, I didn’t even bother giving them a law enforcement work polo shirt I needed tailored down to size – I’ll save that for Manuel’s on Stevens Creek (a farther drive, but better pricing and exceptional service).
The only plus side? Tailoring will only take two days, which, at other places would be considered rush service. I may or may not increase the stars once I pick up my items and can evaluate the workmanship.
**UPDATE: Picked up my items and the workmanship is clearly of quality. I met the little older lady and she was sweet. Still, with the other guy working there, I won’t be back.

Viet D’s momma is one of theeeee nicest ladies you will ever meet. Her work is clean and sharp and so really, the clothes are really gonna make you look goooooood.
