What an amazing photographer. Creative, artistic, talented and great to work with. He was professional, kind, and controlled my crazy bridal party so I didn’t have to! Had incredible ideas for beautiful shots.

Aaron worked with us for our wedding at the Berkeley City Club this past July, and we were very happy with the results. We love his style and he was friendly and easy to work with — punctual, professional, and understanding when we wanted to personalize our contract.

I just love Aaron’s unique style. The pictures from the photo session turns out amazing and he is very easy to work with.

I cannot really convey how incredible Aaron is, but I’m gonna give it a try.
I have had two sessions with Aaron. The first, a little over a year ago, he took photos of me and my kids, as well as individual and pairings. A great portfolio of pictures, all in a 30 minute shoot. There were many different poses and combinations that we absolutely love.
So, when it came time for needing another shoot, this time just me, I knew it had to be Aaron. Less than 72 hours after the shoot he sent me a link to download almost 300 pics he took. Again, in a 30 minute shoot — this time with two outfits, three locations, and many different poses.
As far as talent, you can see that easily in the pics posted to his review. He really is much more than a photographer; he is truly an artist. He cares very, very much about not only making sure that the customers are comfortable, but also that their needs are met and they are comfortable and happy. And on top of that, he seems like a really great guy.

I am very impressed with Aaron’s work. Checking out his website and blog, I am thrilled with the looks and style of his photos. There’s something bronzy, vintage, masculine and yet very modern about his images. His style is also distinct, you will be able to tell ADB’s photos from other photographers.
I had some portraits taken in the park. He gave great directions and very efficient in capturing different expressions, poses with various feels and looks to them.
I was totally wowed when I received the photos. The photo shoot was only 30 min but he managed to deliver very versatile, unique images. Looking at the images you won’t be able to tell the photo shoot took place in a park. The lighting technique is just awesome.

The scheduling was easy and we met Aaron at Cuesta Park for our photo shoot. With two toddlers he had his work cut out for him but he was great. He kept my kids at ease and let them have fun and be themselves.
The photo proofs were returned to us quickly and I have to say we are truly amazed at the beauty of them. The lighting, the clouds everything just made these photos something we will treasure for a lifetime.
Thank you Aaron, you were professional, fun and VERY CREATIVE! We will definitely be calling on your experience again!

We hired Aaron to shoot our family portraits and couldn’t be happier! He was pleasant to work with, straight to the point, punctual, and listened to our needs. The shoot went by with ease and Aaron sent our pictures by the next day!
While the original photo’s already look amazing, we look forward to seeing Aaron work his magic with his special editing technique! Will update when we receive them!

Got our edits back and we couldn’t be happier! Aaron helped us pic several photos for him to edit further and they tuned out amazing. We dressed in 1930s theme and had specifics for our criteria and each of the photos Aaron edited portrayed exactly what we wanted. It was hard for us to photograph in costume but we had good direction and cool settings which Aaron suggested.
Still anticipating the wedding pics CAN’T WAIT!

We did our engagement photos with Aaron and had an absolutely wonderful time! Aaron was so great about being willing to traipse around on a hike through a park with us, while carrying his lighting equipment, looking for great spots for pictures. He has a really relaxed, friendly approach that made us feel totally comfortable and able to have a fun time. He was also super generous and didn’t rush us even though we went over time trying to get to our last spot. he also got us the initial proofs super quickly, and we love the results already (and this is pre-​editing). The lighting, the colors, the composition, all are really gorgeous and there are several mixed styles, both close-​ups and more misty off in the distance shots that look really natural. Can’t wait to work with Aaron at our wedding!

I would of given 5 stars silt he were easy to get a hold of.
I originally found him on Groupon and was so excited about his work!!! He truly is such an artist with his work, which I appreciate so much. I really want to stress how easy it is to find a great photographer, those are a dime a dozen. But to truly mix textures and lighting, example a woman wearing a formal gown in the forest standing on a huge tree at sunset is art. These type of photographers have a god given talent, and Aaron is one of them.
However, booking my appointment was a nightmare with his assistant Ashely, who is no longer with the company. Since then, I’ve really been wanting to connect with Aaron again, I’ve sent multiple emails, left several voice mails, even left a message on his blog trying to make an appointment with him. I’m not sure if this is due to another assistant or him.
So in reality, I’d give 8 out of 5 for his artistic abilities, and a 1 for lack of communication. He’s amazing and fantastic if you hear back from him.
But, for what it’s worth I do still send my clients to him, so far one of my clients has booked with him, and I bought another Groupon, hoping I’ll actually get in contact with him.
I should also say my husband takes awful, awful photos and gets tense around the cameras. He felt completely fine, and we got some really good pics of all of us for once!!! Aaron has a very good energy and aura about him.
The complaints and 1 stars I read on Unilocal seem to be people who want typical group shots, 1−2−3 smile type of thing. For that just save the money and go to JC Penney or Sears for their $ 5 packages. If you don’t appreciate the creativity he has to offer than no need to spend the money.

I love Aaron’s work! I think his pictures are great, and his end products are amazing. With his Groupon deal, his prices are very reasonable too!
I took a star off for Aaron only because it took us a long time to get our edits for the photos. He is a hard person to get a hold of! Once we put in our order, the prints were mailed to us pretty quickly. However, from photo shoot day till the day we got the prints it took 5 months.
Other than the time it took to get the pics, we love the photos. We have a canvas print of our family (taken at Cuesta park) hanging over our fireplace and we always get good comments on it. Thanks Aaron!

Let me start by saying that Aaron is an amazing artist! His photography is absolutely stunning. This was the first professional photo shoot on location for myself, hubby and three young daughters — one who is severely disabled and can’t stand or sit without assistance. Ashley assured me that everything would turn out fine and it did! Aaron was so warm and calm that the girls took to him right away and felt completely comfortable.
The photo we ended up choosing for print needed some touching up and Aaron worked his magic and the photo came out fantastic! The background at La Cuesta Park in Mountain View was the perfect backdrop for our photo. I would definitely work with Aaron again and would recommend him without any hesitation. Aaron, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, our photo will be treasured for years to come!

I got a groupon for my husband and my anniversary a year ago. I never found the right time for him to get his portfolio done. Ashley helped us try to figure out a good time despite the fact that my groupon expired! She was really helpful!
At the photoshoot my husband said Aaron was friendly and took amazing shots. He was encouraging and my husband felt comfortable taking the pics. My husband came back very excited to see the pictures, so it must have gone well :-) We will definitely work with Aaron again!

I bought a Groupon a year ago and just squeezed in a photo shoot under the wire before it expired (my fault, not theirs)…Ashley, Aaron’s assistant, was very helpful with the scheduling and logistics of getting me to the right place at the right time for the location shoot at Cuesta Park in Mountain View. I was a little nervous about not having a ‘backdrop’ like you would have at a studio, but Aaron switched locations within the park several times, providing many different effects, some very similar to having a typical dark backdrop behind and backlighting, all using nature’s own props!
As a result, I received about 60 shots to pick from and found at least 5 that I’ll be using for a professional headshot on my website and social media purposes. I really enjoyed working with Aaron and found him to be very professional and personable… a great conbo!
Net net: I highly recommend Aaron for professional headshots and know from other reviews and his portfolio that he’s great for family photos as well as band photos… he knows how to use the outdoors to provide a more interesting effect than you can get in a studio.

We had a family photoshoot with Aaron at Cuesta Park. We loved being able to take photos outdoors instead of being in a studio and we were able to walk around the park and take photos at various locations. If you’ve ever tried to photograph a baby and a dog together, you know it takes a ton of patience and Aaron was great about working patiently with both our baby and our furbaby.
As far as the photoshoot itself is concerned, we had a great experience. We haven’t seen the photos yet, so I’ll update the review once we see receive them.

Aaron Blumenshine photographed our wedding September of 2010. We did have a disagreement in which he behaved very unprofessionally. But in this review I simply want to comment on the wedding pictures provided. We had an outdoor wedding, with varying lighting conditions that I feel Aaron was not able to adjust well to. Several of the images are too bright or too dark. I know that with partly cloudy conditions, the aperture can be difficult to adjust but I feel as though an experienced photographer should have no problem with that. All of our pictures from our ceremony were from a rear angle and at a distance. Aaron did not position himself in a way where he could photograph our ceremony adequately. Again, I know that this is something that is tricky, but any professional photographer should be able to adequately do. This was my largest complaint, as my husband and I do not have any decent pictures of our ceremony.
Our family pictures were taken against the sun, and the lighting was too yellow, too dark or too white in the majority of them. These required heavy editing and came out looking unnatural. A simpler fix would have been to position us more appropriately or use different lighting techniques.
Couples such as ourselves who are not models sometimes require some position coaching when taking shots together. Aaron did not really take an initiate to instruct us how to position ourselves, resulting in very few images (2) of the two us that are frame worthy.
When viewing Aaron’s portfolio, I did see several great in-​studio pictures. I have been told by a photographer friend that lighting is very easy to control indoors and much more complicated outdoors. Also, it is very easy to showcase one great picture out of thousands, but this does not indicate all the pictures are quality. I should have requested to see an entire image gallery from an outdoor wedding to get a better feel for Aaron’s technique and experience.
My husband and I don’t have any quality images from our wedding ceremony, which is something that makes me very sad and we can’t undo. I highly advise anyone seeking a photographer to view entire image galleries of weddings to view a photographers capabilities in a setting/​venue similar to your own.

When it comes to Aaron and his work, I am not only a fan, but I’m also a client! lol
In all seriousness, I have worked w him 3 times since 2009 and whether it be studio shots or outside scenery, I have been absolutely pleased EVERY time. Being a music artist there is always a point I am trying to get across w every shoot and Aaron has been able to do that and more!

My husband and I bought a Groupon for a photoshoot with Aaron. After looking at his work and reviews from people we decided to go for it since we have been meaning to have a photoshoot for a while now. We decided to have the photoshoot at a park in Palo Alto the scenery was great and as you can imagine the pictures came out great too! Both Aaron and Ashley were very nice and made us feel very comfortable. You can tell that Aaron loves what he does by the great pictures we took! I would def recommend him as a photographer!

Aaron is an amazingly talented, nice, and generous guy. He has shot pictures and video for my band Westwood & Willow and we would love to work with him again. Everyone that sees the pictures remarks on the intense vividness and appealing composition that they present. Shooting with him was natural, fun, and he had a really quick turnaround time.
Not only is Aaron’s work very beautiful (one of his nature shots is my computer background as I type this) but he truly believes in what he is doing. It isn’t uncommon to see him at local shows taking pictures and videos for bands in between his busy wedding and professional shooting schedule. It is also really refreshing that he keeps an updated blog where he will post about current shoots with clients as well as different random shots he takes while on the road during his various adventures.
Set some work up with Aaron — you won’t regret it! :)
