Jerry Yoon Photographers

We were blessed to have Aubrey and Blake as our wedding photographers! They definitely provided pictures that aren’t your run-​of-​the-​mill, boring, posed engagement and wedding shots. My husband and I aren’t artistic at all, but we certainly appreciated their creative eyes that resulted in amazing pictures. So many of the pictures are like works of art. We highly recommend them!

So I can’t say enough great things about Jerry and his team of photographers.
We just got our wedding teasers and so far, of that little batch, they look amazing. We knew we wanted to continue working with Jerry Yoon after he shot our engagement — which was not only super fun, but the photos really captured our genuine relationship.
Now that I’m in waiting mode for my own photos, I find myself looking at his website every day, looking at the other moments, from other couples he has been able to snap. And they are just as breathtaking in their own ways. The unique lighting that he’s able to grasp from each couple’s/family’s special space evokes many emotions.
I gotta say one last thing, Jerry and his team felt like part of our wedding party and family. We can’t wait to have a baby or something so we can book him again, haha :-)

My husband and I both agreed that we would spend whatever had to be spent to get the best photographer. I spent hours, and hours looking through various photographers I found via Unilocal and various other wedding websites from coast to coast, and even in Canada. After weeks of searching (and looking at many pretty awful photographers), I found Jerry. Picking Jerry to do our wedding photography was the easiest decision we made in the wedding process. As soon as I saw his pictures, I knew he was the one. I remember looking through his blog, and actually crying at one of the weddings he photographed (I’m not a sappy kind of gal – so this was quite strange for me).
We had such a blast working with Jerry and Ingrid. They are like stealthy ninjas, I had no clue they were there, but I know they were. I can’t wait to see the finished product!

Is there an option where I can put more stars? We hired Jerry and his team of extremely talented photographers for our wedding on 3÷22÷2014. We were amazed on how Jerry was able to direct, shoot, coordinate, and plan seamlessly. His team were full of positive vibes and always genuinely smiling. It seemed that they really wanted to be there and take your pictures. We had an awesome time with their team and we cannot stress enough how good this guy and his team are!!!

Simply put, Jerry Yoon and his team are brilliant photographers. I am so happy and grateful to have chosen such a talented group of artists to shoot and edit our wedding and engagement photos. My husband and I were married in August 2013 at Beltane Ranch. Our venue was absolutely stunning and Jerry and his team managed to capture and convey all the day’s beauty in every shot. They even captured photos of all my handmade details including my table décor and wedding favors. The only problem I had with our wedding photos was when it came time to select a few favorites out of the 1,000+ photos to share. I’m not even joking when I say nearly every photo was one of my favorites.
If you’re in search of a photographer, I recommend Jerry because he not only takes pretty pictures, but he’s also a really cool person to hang out with. He removes you from the awkwardness of being in front of a camera and keeps you present and living in the moment. In the end, you’ll have unique photos of the raw happy emotions that you want to capture on your special day.

Though there are lots of wedding photographers out there, if you want to hire artists that have the ability to capture all the fun, emotion and excitement of your special day, Jerry Yoon (and crew) would be the way to go. Jerry and Ingrid will work with you one-​on-​one and give you the personal time and effort you would want for your wedding/​engagement/​special event photographs. Though they have plenty of ideas and years of experience, they will sit and listen to your priorities and vision, to make sure you are 110% satisfied with the final product. They are extremely friendly and absolutely professional. By the time it’s your wedding day, you see them more as special guests and friends rather than another vendor you’ve hired to help out during your wedding. If you want very special and high quality photographs, I would recommend Jerry Yoon without hesitation.

Even before I was dating (or engaged), I had seen their work and met them at other weddings and KNEW I would want them to shoot my wedding (one day, hopefully!). Fast forward a couple years and they had exploded in popularity, but their artistic style and really cool eye for photography hadn’t faded. Once it got to a point where B & I were engaged, Ingrid was one of the first people I contacted to find out about their availability and set our wedding date around their availability (even before our venue, I think!).
They are super fun, easygoing people and make the experience … an experience. It doesn’t feel like you’re doing a «photo shoot» during the engagement – it feels like hanging out with friends (where you end up with epic pictures afterwards).
On our actual wedding day they were there with us the entire time… our guests loved them, we had so much fun with them, and we loved poring over our pictures with them at their studio a few months later. Even now, 3 years after my wedding, I still look back on their blog post (and our DVD) to reminisce and remember how thankful I am and how indebted we will be to them forever!

First of all, know that I’m giving Jerry & Ingrid 5 stars without having even seen our wedding pictures yet. They were just that awesome this weekend!
When we looked at photographers, Jerry & Ingrid were the first ones we met, and we picked them immediately. Their other work we’ve seen is stellar, and they were so personable and likable, that we felt good about having them follow us around all day.
All of our guests commented on them… they were always in the right spot for the shots at the times they needed to be, but never seemed like they were in the way. They were both dressed very well, so they look great in any of our friends shots that they ended up in. Both are so much fun and funny and easy to work with.
Around midnight after the wedding I couldn’t find my best friend, and wondered if he had snuck out. I sent him a text saying «Are you here? You need to be!!!» Two minutes later I found him and didn’t think about the text again.
Turns out, I actually sent that text to Jerry… almost two hours after they had gone home. I was mortified… but Jerry was great. He wrote back «Aww sorry no, we’re home… anything good happening?» I just loved that he genuinely felt bad about possibly missing some great stuff. Thank god he didn’t get back in the car and drive 50 miles to the venue, I never would have lived that down!
Can’t wait to see the photos, I’m sure they are going to be amazing. If you’re reading reviews for photographers in the bay area, I suggest you stop now, call Ingrid & Jerry, and PRAY that they are available to shoot your event.

We booked Jerry and Ingrid for our July 2011 wedding and could not have asked for a better team to capture our special day. He was recommended by a SoCal wedding planner.
Because we are living on the East Coast and the wedding was on the West Coast, we could not initially meet in person. Good thing for the Internet because we were able to meet and chat via Skype.
During the initial «meet and greet,» we informed Jerry of our vision/​feel for the wedding. He had questions himself and I could tell that he wanted to make sure that he was the right photographer for our wedding. That made me at ease because even though you may like a photographer’s style, it may not suit your wedding style/​feel and he’s not the type of guy to just book a job that he’s not suited for. Throughout the wedding planning process, he was quick with email responses and apologetic if he forgot to email when he said he’d reply back.
During the wedding, Jerry and Ingrid were professional, laid back and even though they had a schedule to follow, they were able to be flexible as well. We got to know them better over lunch and they both seem so down to earth and approachable. The pictures came out gorgeous and I have gotten so many compliments on the angles and lighting techniques they used. They only thing I noticed (after I got my pictures) is that for the family pictures, my bouquet was covering my dress and I just wished that Jerry would have noticed that (as he was taking the picture and making sure everyone’s face was seen) and told me to lower my bouquet.
I was so happy with the pictures that I ended up getting an album as well. For the album process, I dealt with Ingrid and just like Jerry, she was prompt in returning emails and really cared that the album met all my expectations.
If their style is what you’re looking for, hands down I recommend Jerry and Ingrid. They will not disappoint!

Jerry and Ingrid are the awesomest photographers EVER. There I said it!
After hours of scouring the internet in search of the perfect photographer for our wedding, I stumbled across the blog of Jerry Yoon Photography. I was immediately hooked and looked through the whole blog in one sitting. When I cried after seeing one of the entry (YEAH I cried!), I know I have found our photographer. Lucky for us Jerry and Ingrid were available on our date!
Jerry and Ingrid has such amazing talent in capturing the moment and making every shot fun and unexpected. Looking at their photos you literally feel like you were right there at those events.
Our engagement session with Jerry was so much fun! He gave us really good directions and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. When he picked up that traffic cone and started shooting through it, I know our pictures are going to be AMAZING!
On our big day Jerry and Ingrid worked their magic and they totally blended into the crowd and did their thing. Jerry even came to the rescue when my husband had a boutonnière malfunction and he taught the guys how to tie their ties with the Windsor Knot.
Jerry and Ingrid are just amazing people with immense talent. We are so happy that we get to work with them to capture these important moments of our life.

Jerry Yoon is a cool cat. You could tell he loves his craft.
We met with him over a year ago to see if it would be a good fit. When talking with him, he seemed like a busy guy. Him and his team get work from all over the US. He said he just got back from the East coast.
He’s an honest guy too. He knows his style isn’t suited for everyone, he lets you know that, and he wants to get to know you as much as you want to get to know him. I think he knew that we liked his work, but the style just wasn’t exactly what we were looking for. This isn’t to say his work is bad, because it’s actually pretty cool and has that photojournalistic touch.
So, why the review and give 5 stars if I went in a different direction? I want to let others know that even though we didn’t work with each other, he was still informative and helpful during our consultation. We had not chosen a venue when we talked with him and he would give some suggestions as to some places he liked. We actually chose our wedding venue based on his recommendation.

I’ve hired Jerry for my engagement session and wedding day. He was great to work with. I love the fact that he knows what he’s doing — he goes to workshops to enhance his craft.
He gave my fiancé and I directions — stand like this, look over there, put your hand here —- on how to pose. He’s very detailed and uses natural light to its full advantage.
His partner Ingrid is a sweetheart. She was totally patient with me when we were going over the wedding album.
They’re very professional and easy to work with. They are a bit pricey, but totally worth it!

Jerry and Ingrid are a great team. My husband and I must’ve researched over 50 photographers and interviewed 8 of them. Of them, we’re ecstatic that we chose Jerry Yoon Photography because:

Jerry and Ingrid are easy going photographers that are adaptable and flexible from planning to the day of the wedding and down to choosing your photos. They showed extreme professionalism during the chaos of getting ready before the wedding and always stayed upbeat througout. Jerry even helped show the groomsmen how to tie a skinny tie. ;)

6) They are booked a year in advance and have limited their engagements to less than 20 per year. It was a privilege and we were extraordinarily fortunate to have them at our wedding.

Freaking amazing. When I saw the pictures in person, I was in shock. It’s only now that I’ve recovered enough to fully express how grateful I am to Jerry for these awesome photos.

I can’t wait for the big day next year. So far Jerry and his team have been super professional and friendly, and the follow up to all my crazy questions have been patiently and cheerfully answered by Jerry.
I felt it was fate to have him be the photographer. After all, he is friends with a close friend of mine from when I worked at Hyphen, AND he shot a wedding in Monterey that I attended. I caught the bouquet and Jerry has footage! It only makes sense to continue that story with our wedding in 2011.
I really can’t wait to see our final product! Will review with even more stars, I am sure, next year.

Your search for a photographer stops here. I instantly became obsessed with Jerry’s blog. The first time I viewed his blog I viewed ALL the entries. I soon became obsessed with checking it constantly for new entries. I still do today! They always had something new to show. Each shoot had it’s own wow factor. I knew right away that I wanted Jerry and Ingrid to be our photographers for our big day. The first thing I did with the wedding plans was contact Jerry. There was something about their work that just made them stand out from all the rest of the photographers we researched. Their photos are FUN with a cool edge.
Jerry and Ingrid are so wonderful. We are very thankful to meet such great people. We gained a new friendship. From the first email I received from Jerry you can sense his enthusiasm, passion and how genuine he is. It wasn’t the typical email of «here are my rates, book in advance, etc.» like some other responses I received from other photographers. Right away he wanted to get to know us and how we met.
And what a big heart he has. All the moments he captured of my family through our biggest challenge will always be cherished. We cannot thank him enough. Having Jerry and Ingrid as our photographers was one of the best decisions we made. Seeing our photos for the first time had us relive the day all over. I know 50 years from now as we look at our photos we will still be able to relive the day and remember all the emotions we felt. They didn’t miss a moment.

Future Hubby and I were really excited by Jerry’s blog and met with him last year to finalize our plans for our Sept. 2009 wedding. He made us feel really comfortable and FH totally developed a bromantic crush on him which really was the deciding factor in our choice! It was really important to us to feel like our photographer was someone who we could see actually inviting as a guest to our wedding and Jerry was relaxed, funny, and really intelligent; he made the cut.

Seriously. After looking through their website (
) hubby and I decided they were a must have for our wedding. Unfortunately, we were on a very short timeline for our wedding planning. We only had a 5 month engagement and Jerry books up the year before. BUT he had like three weekends in 2008 available so we planned our wedding around his availability. Seriously. That’s how much we LOVE their work. Not only are they creative geniuses but they are just the coolest, funnest, and nicest people to hang out with. I wish we lived closer so we could hang out more often. Their professionalism, creativity, and flexibility really make them one of the best wedding investments you can ever make. They made fans out of all our wedding guests, too. During the wedding, my 9 year old cousin kept following Jerry around getting in his way, trying to talk to him about the pictures he was taking. So Jerry and Ingrid gave him a camera to go take his pictures. How cool is that? I mean, WOW.
If I could get married every weekend, I would, just so I could have Jerry and Ingrid take more magical photographs of us.

When we first saw different couples’ engagement and wedding pictures, my husband and I thought that his services would be very expensive. However, when we talked it over with Jerry, the cost of his package is very fair, considering the types of pictures you’ll be getting.
Jerry has such a genuine passion for photography.
The one thing that sets them apart from other photographers, «them» referring to Jerry and Ingrid, is their vision and perspective. They take so many creative shots and they purposely push themselves to do things out of the ordinary. They take the best part about you and your relationship and make it come out in the photos.
They constantly looked for different shots and it also seemed like they never rested during our photo sessions.
