I have made numerous calls around, most places are just trying to upsell me to get a new entire top (with rear window). it costs over $ 2200+
Finally, I found «A Soft Tops». I called them and talked to Ricardo. i drove by to show him my car. He inspected it and told me it can be fixed by simply replaced the vinyl rear window.
The entire job was done in 8 hours (dropped off at 7am, got a call from Ricardo at 3pm)

So impressed. I had a couple holes in my soft top on my Mazda Miata, and I took it in to Soft Tops because of the great Unilocal reviews. The owner took a look and told me I would eventually need it replaced, but he could fix the leaks and wind noise to get me through the winter. He did it on the spot and it only cost $ 30. If I need to replace the top next year I will definitely go back.

After reading the great reviews, I tried giving Soft Tops a call to ask a few questions about having them install the soft top on my 1993 Mazda Miata. Ricardo asked me a few questions about my car, and the soft top I ordered. He gave me a quote over the phone at $ 390. After searching online quite a bit, I knew this price was not only fair, but cheaper than most. I asked him if he had time to look at it that day. He told me to bring it down. 6 hours later, I came to pick up my car. Ricardo and his crew did a great job on the top and the car looks brand new!

The rear window of my Jaguar XKR convertible decided to fall out during the heat at the end of summer. Knowing the dealer prices would be over the top, I looked around and found Soft Tops. I gave Ricardo a call, explained my predicament, and he told me to stop by for an appraisal. I went in originally thinking that the window could be glued back in; unfortunately, Ricardo explained this could not be done and I would need a new roof.
A little despondent at the news, we went to his office where Ricardo proceeded to give me the rundown on the different types of material, the pros and cons, etc. He then proceeded to call around a number of vendors for a quote. From my experience with the Jaguar dealer, I was expecting to pay a small fortune, and was pleasantly surprised at the prices we were quoted for the roof. After finalizing the deal, Ricardo explained that it would be an 8 hour job, and that if I dropped the car off early in the morning I would get it back the same day.
Cut forward two weeks: the roof arrived, I dropped off the car, Ricardo gave me a ride home, and eight hours later I returned to see a brand new roof on my Jaguar. It looks amazing.
The only caveat… Ricardo advised me not to lower the roof for two weeks to allow the roof to «relax» into its new home. Apparently, they are so tight when first installed, you may not get the roof back up again. Two weeks later, the roof goes down and up again with no problems at all.

About 5 years ago I opened my Porsche Boxster top on a cold morning and caused a split in the clear plastic window. I went to get an estimate and found $ 1500 for an aftermarket non Porsche top and $ 600 for just a new window sewn in. The problem was this upholstery shop couldn’t guarantee that it would work and would charge me for the job anyway. Several years later and further deterioration of the plastic to the point you couldn’t see out of it led me to Soft Tops.
I found them in researching online the best price for a Haartz canvas top (company that makes the Porsche tops but not in Germany with same quality as original). The online seller from LA said he sends a lot of them to Soft Tops in San Jose. Ricardo, was upfront over the phone, he told me that I could buy a new top and he would install it or he could see if I could get by with just sewing in the new vinyl window. Both of these estimates were much less than I found elsewhere. He did a great job and also explained why the plastic degrades. You have to avoid oil from hands, cleaners, road debris, wax residue in cloth rags, etc. He really knows what he is doing and will tell you when he doesn’t.

Prior to working with soft tops we could not find anyone that could install a convertible top on 1961 to 1967 Lincoln’s.

Did 100 percent of the upholstery on site they did not use a pre fabricated kit.

This place installed my multi-​piece cloth headliner, rear window, and pop-​outs on my newly restored 1958 VW Beettle when other «professional» shops wouldn’t touch the job. Ricardo and company were fast, reliable, and well worth the price. Thanks!

I was having issues with my 2007 Audi A4 soft top. The soft top was not sealing completely on the passenger side. Ricardo and Salvador were accommodating and knowledgeable in what the issue was and how to fix it. I was short on time so Salvador worked as quick as he could to take care of the issue. Salvador also went out of his way to retrieve a screw that was stuck in a hard to reach area.

Ricardo is a true gentleman. I needed a new top for my Mustang. I got an excellent price through a contact of his. The installation was all done on one day and his work was impeccable. Highly recommend it. Worth the cost for sure.

I took my Boxster in to get my top replaced. Recardo did an awesome job and the labor rate was very fair. I dropped the car off at 6am and I was driving it home at 4pm. I will be back for more work later.

Someone sliced the top of my Cobra, so I paid a visit to Soft Tops. They gave me a very reasonable quote to replace the top. They did a great job and finished the job quickly. Couldn’t be happier.

The team at Soft Tops did a great job fixing my power top. The electric motors had broken and I was advised what parts I needed to get and how much they would charge to replace them. They did a great job in a very short time.
It was an hour drive for me to get there, but I’m very happy with their work and will definitely go back if I need more work done in the future.

Ricardo (the owner) is a man of his word. My Mustang had a shattered back window and the convertible top had 2 holes. The process of ordering the glass. having Ricardos company replace the top and glass went ever so smoothly. Beautiful, professional job! I highly recommend this shop and his prices are the BEST.

Absolutely fabulous job!
They did something all the other bodyshops I had called before couldn’t do. I needed to get the rear glass on my miata rooftop fixed. I had called at least 6 other shops earlier and they all quoted high prices for plastic fixes and denied helping fix just for glass.
They did a great job at the best price I could get. I highly recommend them.

I bought a convertible with the top shredded, knowing that I needed to have it replaced. I did not realize how expensive it would be. I spent a long time searching for a shop to do the job cheaply. I searched all over california from LA to Redding, and then I found Soft Tops.
Soft tops gave me the cheapest quote (over the phone!) by a huge margin compared to any other shops. The said I could bring the car in at my soonest convenience, and they ended up finishing the job quicker then they originally told me.
The top came out looking great, I’m very satisfied with their service. Any upholstery needs I have I will take her too.

Needed my seat Fixed the first shop I went to was Bascom Upholstery. They were very nice, I needed my door panel fixed as well, the price he gave me on that was $ 125.00 to $ 200.00 hundred I didn’t like the flexible quote He said just call them and in two days they can have the material, to fix the seat was $ 396.00 I new they would do great work if I chose them. I just didnt like the flexiable quote and the price was a bit high for me.
I thought I would drive over to soft tops and see what they would charge.
Ricardo is a very nice man and you can tell he is honest about his word ! Ricardo said he could fix both for $ 268.00. Two days later I dropped the car off and he gave me a ride home and in about 5 hours the same day the car was finished. The seat looks fantastic and the door panel came out fine. The whole experience was smooth as silk. I wouldn’t let the area or the shop front at Soft Tops miss lead you they are honest nice and the work they did for me was excellent !!
