Denise is awesome! She gave me one of the best mani/pedi’s I’ve ever had. I found her on Life Booker and very happy that I did.
She’s a very talented girl. I got a basic gel application and it was absolutely flawless. It lasted for 3 weeks and I was thrilled.
Cute space in a tucked away spot in the back on Melrose and Fairfax, which means I can walk, which is always a plus in my book.
I will be back for more!

I came in today with my CoWorker and I am so glad I found Denise! She is great at what she does! Most nail salons roll their eyes whenever I ask for a design or show them a picture of something I want to do, but Denise was eager to do it and had such a positive energy. She was quick (which is great because sometimes they take so long that I start falling asleep!) and very detailed with a steady hand. I used a LifeBooker coupon which was great, so I recommend checking deals. We were offered drinks, which was great since it was SUCH a hot day, and had a great time at D Spot Salon. Thanks Denise!

Our technicians were personable and really took their time with our mani/​pedi combos. We used the Unilocal voucher with no problems! I’ll definitely be back :)

The women who work here are very nice and friendly, but I’m giving it three stars because I got a sub-​par gel mani there. Usually my gel manis last three weeks, no matter what I do. I can clean, wash dishes, garden… and they’re fine. With this manicure, its chipping and splitting after four days. I tried them out after buying a Lifebooker deal — I will stick with my usual place from now on. Disappointed.

Ralph of D Spot Salon has been cutting my hair for over twenty years. He knows exactly what I want every time. And he’s a cool guy.

Good selection of colors, both standard polish and gels. The Lemon Bliss mani-​pedi is totally worth it. The owner, Denise, and her other technician, Lani, are both very sweet.

Best hair cut I’ve ever had!!! Ralph is a magic man when it comes to cutting hair, for so long I’ve gone from place to place trying to get a cool, layered haircut it wasn’t until I went to Ralph that I got the hair cut I’ve always wanted. Every time he cuts my hair I’m
100% satisfied. The layers are perfect and it grows out beautifully. He is very cool to talk to and it’s a great atmosphere. I’m constantly getting compliments on my hair and I always recommend Ralph. He is now the only one I would ever let cut my hair. So if anyone is looking for a great cut at a great price in a cool salon go to Ralph. You won’t be disappointed… pictures to come.

I went to the D Spot Salon to get highlights and my hair cut by Ralph who definitely knows what he’s doing and offers the best service ever! If you want a great haircut, highlights, tint and/​or keratin treatment, Ralph is the man! He understands hair and will take great care of you. Ralph’s been around rock n’ roll artists and purveyors so he is able to deliver that edgy look if that’s what you’re searching for. I’ve been going to Ralph for years and have been very happy with my hair and the various colors and experiments we have tried.
D Spot Salon is located on the second floor of a two storey plaza at the northwest corner of Melrose and Fairfax in West Hollywood. Parking is free in the back although some of the spots are tandem. This is truly a hidden treasure! There is an elevator up to the second floor.
The salon is small but very clean and there’s a nice open feeling. They have floor length windows, cute decals on the painted walls, and really nice chairs.
Denise, the owner of the salon, and the rest of the folks at the salon were very friendly and I am really looking forward to going back!

UPDATE!
My gel manacure lasted for a week and a half!!! This is a friggin RECORD for me. I know gel is supposed to last up to 2 weeks, but it has never lasted that long for me. A week at the absolute max, with little chips along the way, but not here! I am SO happy. Just wanted to share.

If you are looking for a nail salon that is extremely sanitary, has a huge selection of the highest quality nail polish colours and brands (OPI, Essie, etc.), and have the friendliest and most qualified nail techs, then D Spot Salon is the place for you! I came in with a Lifebooker deal for a Gel Manicure and also got a regular pedicure ($ 22). I was so pleased with my service that I purchased 2 more gel manicures for future use!
The salon itself is warm and friendly, just like the people who work there. They were happy to converse with me and they have a Netflix account! When I walked in, How I Met Your Mother was playing, and I already knew I was going to love this place!
The salon is extremely clean and sanitary; they used a bowl for the pedicure as opposed to those whirlpool salon chairs (which are bacteria cesspools!) and completed my gel manicure and pedicure at the same time. I had an idea of the colours I wanted to use and relied on them to help me pick them out and it’s like they were reading my mind! Did I mention how great the massages were with the services? They don’t skimp on anything here!
Sometimes when you use a deal like a Lifebooker, the salon treats you differently, but that is definitely not the case here. Denise and the rest of the salon were very friendly and conversational and I am really looking forward to coming back!

Had the $ 20 Gel mani deal from Bloomspot.
The salon is lovely… free parking in the back! I added on a pedicure and the price was reasonable. Good color choices for both gel and regular color. And though they don’t have the full pedi set up with the built in sinks the chairs are super comfy and it wasn’t awkward at all. They did charge $ 7 to remove old gel.
Here’s the thing… she charges $ 40 regularly for a gel mani. Now D Spot ALWAYS has deals on the sites, but why not just charge what other salons in the area that are about the same level of «nice» charge — around $ 30… and get a loyal customer base?
I’m never going to pay $ 40 for a regular gel mani — even if that includes removal of old gel. That’s just too high for the level of salon this is. I can go to any number of places nearby and get the same level of service for $ 30… or go to a «mill» and get it for $ 25. And there was no lotion going on, no massage… nothing to set this apart from any other salon except the prices are higher.
If you get a deal, grab it. It’s a good place. But as a regular stop, the prices are too high for what you get.

I’ve been here 3 times now for gel manis and I’m so pleased. There’s no waiting around after your appointment, the salon itself is so clean and the colors are so nice and calm. They have a huge selection of gel colors and they’re applied expertly. Loni and Kim (?) did wonderful jobs.
Denise did a full acrylic set with no plastic (?) nail underneath and it was so perfect. Completely smooth with no bumps. Her subsequent fills looked as great as the original set.
They have a huge selection of high quality regular polishes as well.
Highly recommended!

The firat time I came here is from lifebooker deal. I like it a lot. I dont really bother to go get nail done ALL the t ime but do it in occassions or in a mood. It just happens that this nail salon I always go now!
1)The ownee denise is a real business woman she remembered my name the second time I came bk. I was very impressed.
2) people there r very nice n they dont change a lot. I feel more comfortable when every time I go bk I see the same faces.
3) they dont rush to do your nails. I hate some salons they are rushing to give u a 5second massage n then done! Cos there r customers waiting!

I started coming her due to some coupons from various websites, but I’ve already been here several times now.

I think it’s proof that Denise does a good job b/​c the gel manicures last 3 – 4 weeks long.

When it comes to nails I can honestly say from a health care professional’s point of view-​hygiene is VERY important.
I usually go to places that use an autoclave, sterilize their cutters and instruments, do NOT have the built in foot tub (separate basin), great service, clean, friendly, calm environment, accessible parking, new polish with modern brands and up to date colors, and preferably comfortable leather chairs… in which D spot has ALL of this!
Denise the owner of D spot is an adorable hard worker whose dream was to open up her own nail/​hair salon.
I came in early on a Saturday morning and was her first client. I was fortunate enough to have Denise as my pedicurist and was able to get to know her and her passion for her salon. She asked me to pick a color from the vase array of modern and new brands of polish. It was hard to make a decision. She offered me coffee, green tea, or ginger tea with honey.
The salon itself is pretty big, clean, and has a friendly yet modern atmosphere. I sat on her comfortable leather chair and soaked my feet in a fresh batch of warm water within a clean basin. She was careful and neat with the procedure of cutting my nails to my liking, removing the dead skin, cuticles, and exfoliating. She used sterilized instruments and offered for me to take my polisher home. The way she painted my nails was very precise and I still have the polish on til this day… in which the appointment was already a month ago! NO CHIPS or BREAKING of the polish on my feet! Don’t worry I asked to cut them really SHORT so it would have enough time to grow out and not look like DRAGON feet!
I purchased a deal through Lifebooker and it was for a Lemon Pedicure which usually runs around $ 30.I got for $ 19! The Lemon Bliss pedicure includes an additional 10 minute massage and extra foot scrub.
Overall I had a great experience and would highly recommend D Spot for a safe, clean, and enjoyable pedicure!

I added a star because I appreciate the fact that the nail technician reached out and was willing to fix my nails after it breaking in the span of 3 days. Unfortunately I was only there for the weekend, and I live 6 hours away, so I could not come back.
Again, the quality of the gel nails were not great, but the customer service was (:

I first found out about this place through Lifebooker ($ 5 for a regular mani) but when I got there, Denise told me about the $ 100 deal for 4 gel manis or 4 regular mani/​pedis. My friend and I split the gift certificate and have been back. Denise is super sweet and stays past closing time for us (since we can’t get there any earlier due to work) and takes her time with the nails. Like my friend says, you actually get a manicure (nail trim, cuticle care, buffing) and then time spent on the gel part of the nails as compared to other places who do gel manis. Denise also has A TON of colors to choose from and I am a bit overwhelmed by it all. I ended up getting the Axium OPI which comes from a small bottle and she literally used a paint brush to get it on– so pretty.
I like that there is a parking lot (just be careful b/​c there’s also a yoga store on the same floor so sometimes it gets crowded back there) and that she’s flexible with her time and very professional. Will definitely be back.

I got a regular mani/​pedi here and sadly won’t be returning. Here’s why: they use super OLD nail polish — it took HOURS for my nails to finally dry and when they did, it still wasn’t «dry» like you could squish the polish around on the nails and it was gluey/​clumpy. I wish I had time to go back and get them re-​done but it had already taken forever so I just went to my regular spot a week or so later. When my nail polish was removed, my nails were DAMAGED. this has never happened to me before… I think because the polish was so old, it deteriorated my nails which turned flakey/​chippy. Strangest thing. I noticed they didn’t have any good brands but this cheapo brand I think called ‘china lights’ or something — stay away from that old polish and check out a different nail spot to save your nails!

Your nail polish is cheap, old and/​or watered down with polish remover. Completely ruined my nails for months.

There’s a security guard who walks around collecting the car keys of people who’ve parked behind someone else. **WARNING: Only park in the lot that’s designated for the plaza, otherwise you may be towed.
The salon is small but there’s a lot of space so it has a nice open feeling. There’s floor length windows, cute decals on the painted walls, a neat rack of nail polish (they have O.P.I., Essie, China Glaze, etc, but kind of a limited selection overall), and really nice chairs. Denise, the owner, and the two women who I’ve seen work there are all very nice and easy to talk to.
I visited this place a couple of times upon purchasing Lifebooker deals (
). My first visit was phenomenal! Denise definitely knows what she’s doing and did a fantastic job on my mani/​pedi! I loved how she expertly applied a glitter gradient ($ 3 extra) on my manicure, which a lot of my friends mistook for gel. I was super pleased with the results! My only complaint was that it chipped really easily.
My second visit, however, was not so great. I had purchased a $ 5 Lifebooker mani deal that seemed too good to be true… AND IT WAS. Don’t get me wrong, the woman who worked on my nails was very helpful and sweet, but she did NOT know how to do a basic mani. My nails were filed unevenly and it hurt when she removed my cuticles. She applied three coats of Essie and it was thick, uneven, and bubbly. I was on a time crunch and judging by the poor job she had done, it was not going to be a quick fix so I didn’t say anything. The mani only cost me $ 7 total, so I just let it slide…
But seriously. Worst nail job I’ve gotten in my entire life. I feel bad for saying this because the girl was very nice and I could tell she was trying… maybe she just needs more training and practice? She is definitely NOT ready to work on customers, $ 5 deal or not. The mani was so bad, about two hours later when I was out and about, I hit my thumb on something and the top coat BROKE and nail polish squirted everywhere. That’s how insanely thick the polish was applied. :(

My cuticles often look like they’ve been through a blender. Bartending ain’t easy on the mitts, friends! Neither is the nervous habit of picking at my dry cuticles in traffic… Well, the bar has been busy and traffic has been worse than ever, so before going out of town I knew I needed some manicure action, stat.
I booked my first appointment with Denise using a Bloomspot deal I got a while back for a gel manicure. She does a simple and effective manicure that left my cuticles and nails looking flawless! Great, current colors to choose from (for both gel and regular manicures) and fresh tools give you a professional and thorough experience.
She was also a joy to talk to the whole time and obviously very passionate about her business. Don’t miss this great spot on the second floor at the corner of Wilshire and LaBrea! If road closures continue like this, lord knows I’ll need to be back soon.

I was searching for a same day nail appointment with a nail salon that specializes in Minx Nails. Initially, my interest was in making an appointment at Extremedys, however, to my surprise, they are closed on Wednesdays. I am so lucky to have found Denise of the «D» Spot Salon, formerly located on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. Denise has now relocated her Salon to Kinross Avenue in Westwood. The «D» Spot sits inside of Ally’s across from Buffalo Exchange and a news stand. The parking situation is awful, however, I am told there is a parking structure nearby that offers 2 hours of free parking.
Denise is an absolute doll and the ultimate professional. She definitely treats her clients as if they were her own family. She is one of the few local professionals advertising her specialty in Minx Nails. I absolutely loved my minx nails. I have received numerous compliments about how gorgeous my nails are.
What are «Minx» Nails you ask? Minx nails is like a foil or plastic sticker that is placed under a heated lamp and then placed on your nails (natural nails in my case). The basic Minx kit comes with gold and silver, therefore, those are the colors you are likely to see most often. Both colors look absolutely stunning, especially paired with animal prints, stripes or other designs. I got gold paired with leopard print and two other striped patterns. Love it! She really did an excellent job and I cannot wait to go back.
Denise also specializes in personalized acrylic designs, eyelash extensions, waxing, permanent makeup, professional makeup, ear piercing, spray tanning, mani/​pedis. She is offering a minx mani/​pedi special for $ 115 this month. A Minx Mani/​Pedi at Extremedys will cost you about $ 135.
What I really appreciate about Denise is that she is fast and efficient. I like the fact that there are minimal to no distractions, so all of her attention is focused on you.
I have recommended her to everyone I know and I definitely recommend you give her a try as well! I know you will love her as much as I do.
When I am in the area, I will always visit Denise at the «D» Spot.
