Like the last poster, I rarely write reviews but I feel it behooves me to counter the two negative reviews about Fader. Which by the way, made me cautious when entered a rental transaction with them. So I asked about the reviews and Jeff, who has run this company with integrity for decades, not only acknowledged the reviews and my concerns but explained the situation to me. He didn’t have to but I appreciated his forthrightness and honesty and those characteristics have been the colour of my experience with the company so far. From the jump, I experienced a good rapport with Jeff of the few occasions I stopped by the office. If you don’t like witty banter, then stay away because he’s a joker. His sons were great, hanging out at the office helping their dad. If there’s anything negative about the business, it’s that they could stand to modernize their technology. They could use a website for one thing. But they could also stand to upgrade from fax machines to pdfs, phones to email, checks to auto debit… But those are minor inconveniences, and I’m admittedly a technology whore. The building complex itself is lovely. It’s older and I’m pretty sure my wall heater is from the 70s, but my studio is spacious and my appliances are new. There’s a pool right outside and the shared facilities are kept clean and functional. Any issue I’ve had or called about, Jeff and Spencer have been on it. They are attentive landlords and as long as I keep my part of the deal up which is paying my rent on time, they keep their end of the deal up as well. Those two yahoos with the 1-star reviews don’t know what they’re talking about. After the horrid management at my last place, this place is paradise.

I rarely write Unilocal reviews but I feel inclined to contribute because of the previous reviews. Both in which are from people that have not worked with the company. I have been a tenant with Fader since 2012, for three years. My application process was extremely smooth and simple. I lucked out and got the apartment of my dreams. The very first day I met the landlord, Jeff Fader, to sign my lease he was very direct about how we runs business. His number one rule is to always pay the rent on time.(Which I think is completely reasonable) He has stayed trued to this rule the whole time I have worked with them. I don’t know when Spencer began working as the property manager of my building or if he always was. However my experience with Fader improved greatly once Spencer was in charge. Spencer is quick to handle any issue I have and always gives me the contact of who I will be working with. I appreciate his timely manner and availability.

I never write reviews, but I feel in this situation I absolutely had to. At first I was really interested in the apartment I was looking at and wanted to move in, unfortunately, having to deal with the staff working here has made it an absolute nightmare and I never want to deal with them, and if you’re interested yourself RUN! This is the most poorly run company I’ve ever heard of. Spencer is a terrible manager; he never answered, or returned calls, basically just impossible to reach, and it seems like no one is ever in the office. When someone actually answered the phones the staff was very rude. I was very hesitant to give them my application because I didn’t feel my personal information was safe in their hands. After discussing the terms of the lease with me, they decided to change them the next day. I feel sorry for whoever has to deal with them now and in the future.
