I love you Yield. I love you love you love you love you. Even though I have never won Tuesday Night Trivia, much to my sadness.
If you are looking for a place that makes you feel like home, this might be it. The people are incredibly friendly, and if you get there early enough to grab one of the comfy chairs, take it! The stools are… not so comfy after a bit.
Could their wine menu use a bit of work? Yeh. Could they offer flights? Yeh. These are small things compared to the joy that coming here brings. Even if I do lose at trivia. Dang sports questions.

Owner/​bartender is friendly and attends to the guests well, checks in regularly but not too frequently.
Plenty of seating area — at the bar, high tables, some nice sofas/​couch kinda seating too.

Great neighborhood spot. Service is as good as it gets and I’ve never had a glass of wine here I disliked. Food options are delicious and it’s rarely crowded.
Note that the hours are wrong on Unilocal as of this review. They are open 3−11pm Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday.

My partner and I went here a few weeks back. We had driven by it a few times and I really wanted to try it.
Things I Like:
— Services was great, very attentive.
— Had an awesome food selection
— Great location.
Things I Dislike:
— The night ambience is a little off, Lightening needs a change.
— HUGE POINTS LOST FOR NOT ALLOWING US TO SAMPLE THE WINE BEFORE WE BUY A GLASS. The guy said he could describe it to us over us sampling it, which is never helpful. We’ve been trying wine places for years all over the city and have never heard of this. Unfortunately a huge flaw in their business plan. We ended up both getting glasses of wine we didn’t like.
Otherwise, with a little facelift and shift in expected wine etiquette, I feel this place has a lot of potential.

Thank goodness the wine is better than the furniture. The environment is lacking, but the wine is pretty good. For sure, the ambiance, décor, and furnishing lacked any style and appeared to be aged and weathered. It was a turn off, upon walking in, but glad we stayed. The Malbec was good.

Solid 3 stars, cozy neighborhood hangout, but nothing to write home about menu-​wise. Trivia Night on Tuesday nights is a good time if you are friends with trivia nerds and want to win a percentage off of your bill. The owner is friendly and energetic. The server wasn’t attentive or personable, and several times, our table tried to flag him down and he acknowledged us, but then kept forgetting to come over to take our order for drinks or snacks.

Nice space, excellent wine selection. my friend and I had a few glasses of wine, a pizza, and the nuts. Wine & food was good, service was great.

Amazing trivia nights on Tuesdays! I suck at trivia, but I love going here anyway with friends, splitting a bottle of wine and some snacks, and racking our brains. They also have great vegan flatbread.
Trivia starts around 8pm, but the place fills up before then. Try to show up at 7:30 to claim a spot for your group.

I loved this wine bar. The staff is knowlegeable without being pretensiouss and their wine selection is very nice. I loved their Carmenere. Just delicious, fuiity but interesting. The ambiance is great and the service was on point. Will absolutely come back and rave to my friends about it.

Crazy for any wine bar: this place has great indoor and outdoor seating and a very good selection of wines. Very low key, quiet, and great for conversations. Will be coming back in no time.

This cute wine bar doesn’t seem like much from the outside but once you step inside, wonderful cozy ambience for a medium sized group.
I came here with coworkers to celebrate the end of a phase of our project. I was very pleased with the small plates that we shared and the wine paired nicely.
We shared one of the preset menus of appetizers (I don’t recall all of them but a few were quite good that they stood out in my mind.) The salted Brussels sprouts were delicious, and the aioli sauce that came with the dish added a creamy finish that was just perfect. One of my coworkers loved the artichoke dip so much that we ordered another plate. The variety of pizza plates appealed to all of us. My personal favorite was the pesto flatbread. The smoked trout and lightly toasted bread was also a group pleaser.
Overall, I’ll definitely be back! Ambience, food, service – excellent.

This Dogpatch gem features delicious and sustainably sourced wines. The selection changes with the season, and you can’t go wrong with anything from the menu. If you’re uncertain about which to choose, simply ask someone working there what types of flavors you like best, and they’ll point you in the right direction.
The neighborhood is quiet – «up and coming» as many have said, and the venue is small, intimate, and cozy. The menu boasts the occasional rotation of vegan options, making it more hospitable to the meat and dairy challenged. It does tend to be on the pricey side (hence four stars instead of five), but the happy hour is excellent. And don’t miss Wednesday trivia night.
Among my favorite memories include meeting the owner’s adorable dog, and having the same man pulling me over several times to tell me he liked my jacket. In his drunken stupor he’d forgotten every previous time. Yield gives you a good buzz without an awful hangover the next day.

When I lived in the neighborhood this was a cool place to have some small plates and drink some good wine. The atmosphere was upbeat and the lighting was good, a rare find at the time in the dogpatch.
The location is easy to park, walk, or take the light rail on 3^rd Street. Good place to meet friends or to settle in for a few hours.

Second time I come. I am starting to develop a fondness for this place. Nothing too fancy or big, but a great spot in Dogpatch to sit back and enjoy a nice glass of wine (or two) in good company, with good music, good food, and a nice wine selection and food to try.

Came here for happy hour, which is from 4:30−7pm. Their HH deal is a carafe for $ 14, and $ 1 off menu items. We got the only red offered with the carafe and it was a medium bodied easy-​drinker. Ha. We also got the cheese plate which was a-​ok. Nothing fantastic. Nothing horrible.
The location is convenient as its near the T muni line, and a few blocks from the 22^nd street Caltrain.
The décor is minimal, which I like, and the seating is ample. Service is friendly and responsive. I’ll be back!

This is a cozy little place to enjoy a nice glass of wine. There is a great selection and the staff is friendly and attentive. My husband and I enjoy coming here for a casual date night or to meet up with groups of friends. We have always had a fantastic experience here.

Cute little spot in the dog patch. We got there at the end of Trivia night and so I completely understand the bad service BUT I do not like that our $ 14 pizza (small/​tiny. The size of my tiny hand) came to us cold. On top of that we got our food when everyone was leaving so it’s I expected the that the service would get better. It didn’t… We asked for some cheese and red pepper flakes and the guy said that there was enough cheese on the pizza LOL why couldn’t he just say «we don’t have any cheese sorry» I asked for an extra plate… We got it when we were already finished. By the time we asked for our check we were the only customers there and we had to ask twice for it and just ended up walking up to the register. I’m so sick of the customer service in SF. The food is not that good yet hella stupid expensive and than we get treated like crap for asking for a thing or two.

So I really like coming here on my day off, Monday. The bartenders (wine peeps) are great, knowledgable and very nice. I usually show up before 5 on a Monday and watch this place fill up, but not get cray, by 630. They also have beer and cider for the non-​wine drinkers. The olives are great as well as my favorite, the Smoked Trout Rillette. Grant and Nick at the bar are great!

I’m a fan! Granted, we made our Yield debut on the Saturday night of Outside Lands, so the entire city had made their way to GG Park, not the Dogpatch. Needless to say, we were the only folks there, but I kinda liked it!
Wine was tasty, well-​priced, and pours were more than generous. Two thumbs way up. Also learned they do trivia (!) Hoping to make it back sooner than later.

Attention all average Joe’s and college students!
This place is cool, and if you’re grown and have your career under way, I can see how this place may be for you!
BUT if you’re like myself, a broke college student then this place may not be for you. It is SUPER expensive. Flat bread pizzas at 14 each, that could not feed a small child, let alone a 6 foot 200 pound man like myself. Champagne bottles at 48 each, and we came with 10 people and we ended up paying 12 dollars each for 2 bottles which came out to about 2 glasses each. Throw in some food orders and beer, and our bill ballooned to 200+…
Side bar: the trivia night was fun. It felt like high school all over again, but with alcohol. But be prepared to not know half the questions if you’re below he age of 25 lol most questions are pretty hard and without at least a team of 5 or a scholar who studied random facts then you will fail. But the experience was fun nonetheless.
Back to the money.
If you’re in the mood for drinking, and want to go somewhere, I’d suggest going to a bar with a happier hour that doesn’t only take off 1DOLLAR! Weeee 1 dollar happy hour!
Hardly a happy hour if you ask me.
Put it to you this way, you could spend 6 dollars for a bottle of champagne at Safeway that tasted the same, IF NOT BETTER and A large pizza from a pizza spot that’s way better.
Overall the night was fun, but next time I will definitely be going elsewhere to spend 200 dollars with my friends and get more bang for your buck.
But hey, if you got your career and want to spend 50 bucks on a few glasses of wine and a tasty, but small and thin pizza, you go ahead and be my guest!

Dogpatch is always referred to as «Up and Coming» because of great places like Yield.
I’ll keep this short n’ sweet. Yield has the ambiance that you want in a wine bar. Cool, classy, but not ostentatious. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the wine (this is my friends POV) was a diverse range in both price and origin.
We ordered the stuffed figs (absolutely amazing, 100% you should order them) and the brussel sprouts. I dinged this place a star because the sprouts were $ 9 and way, way too lemony. My advice? Just order two plates of the fits.

This is one of my favorite wine bars to go to in SF. There’s definitely wine bars where you go and you’re thinking «what the… is this even a bar? Where’s the wine?» But rest assured, this one is not one of them.
Yield Wine Bar has that swag that not many wine bars have. the seating is pretty ample for the a small place. There are essentially two seating areas and a bench at the bar where you can talk to the bartender. It’s pretty awesome if you are with a group or on a date. Either one works! If you are just trying to learn about wine as well, I would highly suggest sitting at the bar. The employees here are very knowledgable and they even give you samples if you ask for it. Overall I had an awesome time.

I’m not a big wine guy, but Yield is an excellent wine bar. How do I judge a wine bar without being a wine aficionado? It’s simple:
— The bartender is super attentive and friendly
— The menu is diverse in both style and price
— The venue is real trendy yet chill
— Samples and half glasses are available for the neophyte in all of us
I’ll definitely return if I’m in the area.

Pros:
— fairly wide range of wines available
— wines from all the continents
— cool & calm interior = great for talking
— intimate setting (there are cushy seats good for dates)
— really attentive, friendly staff
Cons:
— kind of pricey, but I think it’s worth it
— not in an extremely convenient location
Bottom line: I’ve had some good wine and talks here. If you’re in the neighborhood, you should stop by. I’ll be back.

It’s got 300 plus reviews so you know people love this place. Here’s why I did:
— They have good food, and the kitchen’s open late too. Get the sliders!
— And the Rillette: smoked trout magic, do it.
— I’m not a wine expert but we really liked the ones called (on our receipt): «Spice Route Pinotage» and «Chocalan Carmenere.»
We also had the dates and the «Californian Flatbread» which were both just OK.
Service here is legendarily friendly, enthusiastic, and recommendation loaded. Don’t be shy here; ask the expert running the place!

SOPHISTICATED
(4 stars)
Sometimes you just need to tip the glass.
SYRAH/​GRENACHE/​CARIGNAN/​MOURVÈDRE, DOM, FERRET, RIBERE, «TRADITION», COTES DU RUSILLION, FRANCE ’09 ($ 12) — earthy, figs, dry finish. I didn’t think I’d like it but after trying it I ordered a glass of it. It’s a nice creeper and the buzz will sneak up on you.
COD SLIDERS ($ 8) — w/​avocado, cilantro, sriracha aioli. This was good decent. Not sure how fresh the cod is as the taste of «fish» was kind of aggressive. Wish there was more cilantro to get an herb flavor. The sriracha aioli bright the perfect heat to the dish.
HOUSE-​MARINATED OLIVES ($ 6) — this was delicious. I don’t usually eat olives, ONLY when I’m drinking a really dirty martini or sipping wine. The evoo and roasted garlic was the perfect marinade for these olives.
Will I be back? Why not.

When I was in my 20s, all I cared about was going to the hottest parties, getting sh*tfaced on adioses, and finding every opportunity to throw off my heels. YOLO! Ok, ok… more like ratchet.
Now that I’m in my 30s, all I care about is wrinkle cream, flats, spanx, and sleep.
Don’t get me wrong, I still like going out at night and getting a happy buzz but I don’t want to deal with parking, long lines, crowds, and running into my friend’s younger sibling (s).
Me: «Oh hey, what are you doing here?»
Friend’s younger sibling: «It’s my homegirl’s 21^st birthday. What are YOU doing here?»
Me: «…»
Umm yah, so wine bars are now my BFF.
Yield Wine Bar is perfect for someone like me; someone that still wants to enjoy the night life without getting all ratchet. Street parking is plentiful. Getting a seat isn’t a problem before 10 pm (there’s two communal tables for larger groups). And, the chances of getting sh*tfaced is minimal since they don’t serve hard liquor. It’s also a great date place as it’s more intimate and the music isn’t blaring so you can actually hold a conversation.
Yield serves sustainable, organic and biodynamic (eco-​friendly) wine. For wines by the glass, there were about 5 selections each for sparkling, white, and red wine ranging from $ 9-​$ 13. Bottles ranged from mid $ 30s to low $ 80s. Happy hour is Monday — Friday, 4:30 pm — 7 pm and half bottle carafes are $ 12.
They also have a rotating bar bite menu with vegan options (Hi John & Chel!). On the night that we went, there were nuts, olives, cheese, dips, and flatbreads on the menu ($ 6-​$ 13). Kitchen closes at 10 pm.
I had a glass of the sparkling rose and a chardonnay that I wasn’t too crazy about but that’s just me as I prefer Italian or French wines. The food and service more than made up for it though.
My gf and I shared the grilled brussel sprouts ($ 6), cod sliders (2 for $ 8), and the Parisian flatbread ($ 13) for a late dinner. The cod sliders are a must order. A pan-​fried cod patty topped with a creamy sriracha aioli, buttery avocados, and sandwiched between a pillowy Hawaiian bun. I love sweet and salty combos so the Parisian flatbread was an easy choice as it was topped with brie, apples, and caramelized onions:
. The flatbread had a nice crunch with great flavors from the ménage a trois of ingredients but the apples could have been sliced thinner as it had more of a mushy texture.
We spent over 3 hours at Yield and we never felt rushed. Our waitress was an absolute sweetheart and kept checking in with us to make sure everything was ok.
Definitely adding Yield to my weekend rotation as they close at midnight which gives me enough time to go home to catch an episode of Cheaters. Mmmm, that Clark Gable, THE III; Grade A douche but yummy nonetheless.
