We had brunch here since Marlowe was too long of a wait. The décor is interesting, I like the exposed brick. There’s a very industrial and homey feel to it. Initially they asked if we wanted to sit in the lounge/couch area, but it didn’t look like the tables were big enough. We got seated right away and didn’t realize it was a brunch *buffet. I leaned towards more of the lunchy items than breakfast. My favorites were the ceviche, braised greens, and bacon. I wasn’t interested in the rest. It’s not all that worth it as a buffet IMO. There’s an option to add bottomless mimosas, so if that’s what you’re feeling it might end up being worth it as a buffet.

I have mixed feelings about this place — the wine flight was great, knowledgeable staff, attentive service, loungy vibe but the cheese plate we got on our server’s recommendation was so disappointing for $ 15! We also had ceviche and it was great. Wide wine selection and on a Friday night we got seated right away. 3.5 stars and I’m willing to go back and give the food another try.

Lofty ceilings and cool circular seating make nice ambience. Very small pours of wine would be considered half glasses at most respectful establishments, cheapens the atmosphere.

My favorite place in the city. Hipsters and out of towners not allowed because I want this place all to myself! Oyster Happy hour is the best — and being a local I am always treated well. Get there early, because it gets packed. I will be hosting my bday there ;)

Five of us had tapas and drinks at District on Saturday night before the Metallica concert at AT&T park. It was insanely crowded, but we managed to snag a hodgepodge of small tables and ottomans in the corner. Our server, Adrian, was amazing! He stayed on top of our drink orders and had such a great attitude. The food was great. We shared the brussel sprouts, arancini, lamb meatballs, sliders and a margherita pizza. I loved everything I tried, and the guys devoured the sliders.

Went back again, the rib pizza sucked(blandish) and bartender sucked too asked for water 3 times and he brought one cup for 2 people WTF? place wasn’t busy at all. I’ve very disappointed at this place. I i had a much better experience the last few years. Will not be going back any time soon.

The atmosphere is very relaxing and high end. The drinks are expensive but great prices on apps and late night items. The service can be iffy based on who you get. I would recommend to anyone. Hidden gem :)

Ate here on Saturday night. We sat in the high top tables, and had a waitress with short dark brown hair, bangs, and a deep voice. She was… AWESOME. Her service was the best I’ve had in San Francisco, and after being a waitress myself for 5 years I know what I’m talking about. She could tell by looking at me I was hungry and brought our appetizer as quickly as humanly possible. She definitely made our experience here unforgettable! Not to mention she was really busy in her section so she gets 5 stars! Also the food was really good, especially the ahi tuna tartare.

Great place to get a bite to eat. Had the warm burrata and Hangar steak. Then for dessert was ice cream and bread pudding. Excellent. Stop by if you have a chance!

I’ve come here for bottomless mimosas twice now. The service has always been great the two times I have gone. I made reservations both times(since it is always better safe than sorry) and it does end up getting more crowded a little later in the morning. They have a breakfast buffet as opposed to plated, which is nice. They don’t really change up this breakfast menu though, but they have pancakes, bacon, potatoes, ceviche, sausage and gravy and grits. So they have a pretty good selection for a good brunch. They have different flavors of mimosas as well and they are just always on top of it and polite. love it here.

Kind of an awkward experience last night, and some speculation worth sharing. Met a friend for drinks, and during our conversation he waved over one of the bar assistance for some help. Apparently the barback did not take kindly to the hand gesture from my friend and they had a discussion that started to become heated. I noticed that the guy who had the issue with my friend speaking with the restaurant server who was bringing our food, speaking in Spanish and looking at us. That’s when I said«Oh Shit!!» Being cautious I took the liberty to pay attention to their behavior once our food came. The guy dropped off our food and as he walked by the barback, they started looking at each other and began laughing. Needless to say I didn’t take a bite.

District’s a great spot for some post work wine and food. Close proximity to Calrains makes it a popular spot for happy hour so coming after the rush is a good idea if you want a table. The dinner menu has lots of great little plates to share. I’m quite a fan of the beef sliders with the red wine-onion jam that strikes a nice balance between sweet and savory. Pair it with some french fries dipped in a truffle-parm aioli. The lamb meatballs are pretty tasty too with the spiced tomato sauce. Avacado tempura is a nice way to balance the sauce. Wash it all down with some fine Pinot and you’re set. The dim lighting makes it feel more cosy but District still manages to strike a lively vibe. Service is friendly and attentive to boot.

I’ve been to District in Oakland multiple times, and always loved the classy upscale atmosphere and the amazing service and drinks. Naturally, District in San Francisco, did not disappoint. I popped in with a couple of friends on a Friday night and enjoyed an amazing bottle of Moscato and some small plates of snacks. First off, the service at District never disappoints. We received prompt, delightful service from our waitress who was super attentive and gave us fantastic drink recommendations. Furthermore, she even provided us with phone chargers when she realized we were running low. Super thoughtful! Next the food and drink was so good. The devilled eggs were fantastic — creamy and delicious and finished with a touch of siracha. I have to say the eggs were poached to perfection. The whites were so tender I almost couldn’t pick them up off the plate. None of that cooked-within-an-inch-of-its-life you get at other places. The fries were also well seasoned and downright yummy. :) And that bottle of Moscato, that will be on my mind for a long time. Anyhow, if you’re looking for a good lounge to chill out and enjoy talking to friends(or even meeting friendly strangers), District is definitely high on my list.

All you can eat brunch $ 20 All you can drink mimosas/bloody marys $ 13 Came here on a Sunday morning before the giants game for the very first time. I live right by here and always pass by but have never been until now. Right when you walk in, it feels very home-y. There are couches everywhere and dim lighting but feels trendy. I went with 4 girlfriends and we all did the all you can eat and drink. What I really loved about the all you can drink was the fact that I was able to mix and match — start with a bloody and then get a mimosa afterwards. I’ve been to brunch places with all your can drink but you have to choose either the bloodies or the mimosas. This was the perfect deal. and it was only $ 13! The food was delicious. There were cheesy grits, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, thin pancakes with banana maple syrup, salad, grilled greens, plantains, eggs, cake and more. Everything was really good but my favorite was 100% the pancakes with the banana maple syrup. the syrup was AMAZING. Never had that before. Also when the syrup mixed with my eggs it was perfection. There were a few things missing from this brunch that I think would’ve made it a lot better. They were missing fresh fruit(necessity), bagels, muffins. Besides that I had an overall great experience. Great service there too.

If you are in the district, you gotta go to District for some happy hours. Fun facts: –Wine bar is right — entire back side of the menu is the list. Also some noms(don’t call them noms unless you want to lose cred… don’t say«cred» unless you want to get kicked out). –You might want to reserve some space if you have a large party. Luckily, they were nice enough to find some tables for us. –Great atmosphere and décor. This is one pretty place. –Service replaced everything with the snap of a finger. No, we aren’t off to see the Wizard. –Eats: Fries — The other day I was coincidentally mentioning thin cut fries that are that crispy brown, piping hot, and covered in truffle oil. Well, that craving was satisfied. Bread and charcuterie — That walnut bread. I can identify it in a second… they must get their bread from Anderson bakery. Fun fact. Very nicely laid out. Didn’t try the pizzas, but they sure looked good. Everyone apparently loved the fried avocado… I’d rather just eat guac LOL. If fries don’t convince you, then I haven’t done my job. Fries + Wine? You will be happy for hours.

Fabulous! Their wine selection is pretty darn fantastic and their food seems to be scrumptious. My date and I came here to wait for the next CalTrain(talk about great location!) and we were pleasantly surprised with the wine and beer selection. I had a pinot flight and he had cabernet(I think). Regardless I loved it! We tried each others and decided on a could of full glasses to enjoy. Overall it was a great experience, the bar area was super busy so we sat ourselves in a nook in the back corner-it was a little romantic and quite comfortable. All in all I would love to come back to this establishment to try their food, from what I saw(and smelled) it seemed divine!

(Sung to the tune of Pinot Noir from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt ): Pinooooot Noir! Pinot Noir, happy hour Pinot Noir, where true friends are Pinot Noir, no reservoir Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir — — — — — — — - OK, you get the idea. District has some lovely pinots on demand. In fact, the wine list is a bit of a SoMa secret under wraps. Due to the proximity of the Caltrain station, District ends up being a final SF stop for many South Bay commuters rather than a destination for fine food and beverage. But let it be known — their evening eats and drinks ain’t bad, folks. Pinot noir, oysters, fries, flatbread — just to name a few solid menu items that I’ve tried over several visits. For San Francisco, it’s a bit classier than one might expect, but no matter if you show up in a suit or jeans and a tech tee, you’ll be treated well.

Solid happy hour spot. Been there twice now and have enjoyed my time there. Nice ambiance, fancy yet not stuffy, good wine selection, and surprisingly good food. Delicious cheese plates, good pizza(a bit greasy), and friendly staff. Their fries are good, only because of the spicy aioli that comes with them. Their lamb meatballs are great.

I don’t cry often due to having a single X chromosome. I should though, just had LASIK and I’ll be darned if these stupid eyedrops don’t work. So I’m glad I came to District. This was truly a on-a-whim entrance, sometimes the best discoveries to be had. Being a Unilocaler at heart, I always dine at the highest rated establishments, trusting the number of reviews that have been left and their honesty. So we were walking to Little Waffle down the street when we saw the décor of this place and I’m not necessarily architecturally inclined when hungry but this place drew my attention with it’s rough brick walls. Something about that rough hewn look and the giant open bar in the middle with tons of people inside(always a good sign, eh?). One of the best decisions that night(besides the Giants winning their game against the Marlins of course!). We had the oxtail(sounds disgusting but watch some Anthony Bourdain and you’ll get why it’s incredible) and it came out as a dip with some Taro Chips, really surprising since I was thinking it was a straight up oxtail… kind of a good surprise. This thing is ridiculously good. I mean that in the most ridiculous sense. Like it made me cry and think of home. It’s got a subtle flavor like roast beef or something homey tasting. Just amazing, it falls apart in your mouth and paired with the chips and the slice of lime you drizzle it on… it is the DEFINITION of «melt-in-your-mouth». I’ve had some great food and this dish would not be out of place at French Laundry. That good. Then we got the risotto balls which we only ordered from seeing other folks get it, carbo-loaded and delicious with the green sauce. Nothing to write home about, a bit oily, but still worth it. The pizza… WOW. Absolutely incredible. We got the short rib one with the beef and artichoke, peppers, everything just beautifully combined together. Truly a fiesta in your mouth. Crust is thin just like I love, flakey and worth it to come here to order this alone. This and the oxtail have made it so I can die a happy man. The oysters… got these for $ 1 for happy hour, half dozen. They were fresh, delicious and as expected from SF. However, a bit sandy, meaning the preparation wasn’t clean in their shucking. So shucks. Shame on them. Otherwise the marinade and garlic, etc. that came with it was tasty. Worth the $ 1. Great place, service was awesome, guy was a bit curt but responded to all our requests including adding two more items since we just couldn’t get enough of the good food. Highly recommend, I don’t mind the lower Unilocal Star rating. Almost tempted to rate it a 1-Star just to keep people out of here since it was so packed and we had to sit at the bar that night. Make reservations for larger groups or sit in the sofa area where you might get hit on.

I stopped by District with a few friends after having some tacos at Pedro’s for Happy Hour. The place is very cozy as a lounge. Big open space, lots of tables, chairs, and couches to sit at and enjoy some drinks and bar snacks. It’s a very nice space if you’re meeting up with a group. We got to try their Guanciale Pizzetta with cured pork cheeks, Calabrian chili sauce, roasted cipollini onions, wild arugula & pecorino. This was really good! It actually reminded me of Totino’s Party Pizza and that’s a good thing! Had a nice thin but lightly crispy crust and the pork cheeks added some savory substance along with the other toppings. It was a very nicely balanced pie. I’d totally order this again for myself! Because we went in the middle of the week, it wasn’t too busy. But I can imagine this place being super packed on the weekends. For now I think I’ll stick with coming by midweek to avoid the crowds. I like District and will more than likely be stopping by again to try more of their food since their Pizzetta left a good impression.

After HH nearby, we decided to go to District to continue the drinking. Hard liquor was actually our drink of choice, but we found out they only served wine and beer. Not a problem since I loved the look and feel of the place. Plus, we found a roomy spot with a table and chairs. *St bernardus at 12: quadrupel, watou, belgium, abv 10.5%($ 10 each) I randomly selected this. To my surprise, it had the most alcohol content among all the beers they offered. *House roasted nuts($ 5 each) I’m not a huge fan of nuts, but for something to snack on, this is good. Salty, smokey and crunchy. Good with the beer. *Guanciale: cured pork cheeks, calabrian chili sauce, roasted cipollini onions, wild arugula & pecorino($ 16) Since I didn’t have any food at HH, we decided to order a pizza. The cheek was super tender and I loved the arugula. Great melding of flavors. Mountains to the sea($ 22 tasting flight) *Monsecco pratogrande, nebbiolo, colline, piemonte, italy 2010 *Agricola cirelli, montepulciano d’abruzzo, tuscany, italy 2013 *Terre nere etna rosso, nerello mascalose, sicily 2013 I ended the night by sharing a tasting flight. Great way to sample three glasses for about $ 4 more than the most expensive glass. The pours were a good size. District has a great feel. Lots of brick and a big open space. I loved it. I can’t wait to come back to try their oyster HH!

I thought this place was amazing. We ordered the hanger steak, Brussel sprouts(bomb!), stuffed figs, lamb meatballs, and ahi tuna tartare. The lamb meatballs were absolutely amazing, and the Brussel sprouts was my favorite dish that night. The stuffed figs were delicious but they only came in threes. A good starter but a little pricey, they had a great mix of a sweet dig wrapped in prosciutto stuffed with blue cheese and goat cheese(?). Super intimate setting with great tapas selection. I had a great time. Topped off with a Nebbiolo wine and ended the dinner with an apple crisp & honey ice cream dessert. Just so great. If you get served by a girl named Kat, let her know she’s great and beautiful :-)

A super cool venue with a unique take on wine. I’ve always been accustomed to sharing beer flights amongst friends, but District offers wine(flight) tasting, which is awesome(and affordable). I went for the Bordeaux Blends because it had one of my favorite reds, the Malbec. Alongside the Malbec, the flights included a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Stack House(in Napa) and a Cabernet blend. My favorite was the cabernet sauvignon because of the kick of spiciness to it. My friend had the Mountains to the Sea, which was a mix of European wines. I definitely want to come back and give the white wine list a try, and also sample some of their food. The lounge was busy for a Thursday night, filled with what seemed like young professionals and artists. There were various works of art being showcased on the walls, which added something different to this establishment.
