History

Established in 1985.

For over 20 years Ellis Eye Laser Med Center has been a leader in laser vision correction to eliminate the need for eye glasses and contact lenses and in cosmetic procedures to rejuvenate the youthful appearance of the facial skin and eyelids. Dr Ellis has spent his life perfecting laser treatments and bringing innovative techniques to the correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism using laser vision correction. Because of his background in both engineering and medicine, he has been at the forefront in developing and improving the procedures he performs. Business Owner

Dr. Ellis received his degree in electrical engineering from UC Berkeley and following the completion of medical school was a resident in the department of ophthalmology at Stanford University. He has been a leader in the field of laser vision correction since its inception in the US and among the first to peform the LASIK procedure. He has performed over 40,000 Lasik procedures and prides himself on quality of care delivered at his six locations. Many other centers try to imitate the success of Dr Ellis but few achieve it. He is an innovator in the field of refractive surgery and studied with Professor Syvatslov Fyodorov in the Soviet Union. He has written three textbooks, honored to chair a panel on the surgical correction of astigmatism at the 26^th International Congress of Ophthalmology. In 1996, Dr. Ellis was honored by Prof. Fyodorov’s Moscow Institute with an appointment to the editorial board of the prestigious Russian journal Ophthalmology Surgery.
