Just finished our third session… Vivian Sach’s just as amazing as ever and we truly enjoy seeing her for our yearly family photos.
She captures the essence of the people in the photo. Amazing value and these photos, that were so expertly shot, will be treasured for more than my lifetime.

I had to update my raving review with my wedding photos from Vivian’s team (Mark & David). They were so fun to work with and the photos turned out so beautiful!
We had way too many favorites! I highly, highly recommend Vivian and her team for your wedding, engagement and any occasions needed to capture special moments.

My husband I eloped on the beach with the intention of having a formal wedding a year later. After I saw the stunning photos Vivian Sachs Photography captured that day, we decided that there was no reason to have another wedding. The photos are so stunning that some people have thought the photos were for an advertisement and a coworker once asked why I had a stock photo still in the frame, when it was actually my wedding photo! Stunning artwork, professional company. I would recommend Vivian Sachs Photography to anyone and everyone for any and every event!

We found Vivian on Unilocal,liked her website portfolio, and asked her to take some couples photos for us. It was easy and the results were fantastic: natural and fun photos around our home, on the roof, and in the park. I think she captured us at our everyday best, which is exactly what we wanted. And we got all of the digital images (~160 files for a 90-​min session) at a reasonable price (half of what others tried to charge).

My husband and I found Vivian when we were searching for a wedding photographer last year. After months of research, we came across Vivian’s work and was amazed by her editorial and vintage-​inspired style as well as her unique vision in capturing the most important moments. Her art, which spans across personal (weddings, family, portraits, etc) as well as corporate (editorials, print, product, etc) work is truly exceptional.
Vivian is also an amazing person with incredible work ethic. We knew we were going to work with her as soon as we met her– she was warm, smart, humble, and a great listener. Most importantly, she really cares about her clients.
On the day of our wedding, Vivian was efficient, professional, and caring. Her vision was really unique– her work never looks generic, and it always different from other photos of the same venue. She doesn’t do the generic poses/​shots so if you really want those, you should ask her. We loved the fact that her vision and work was really unique (see attached pictures) so it was perfect for us. The final work was stunning and we’re still getting compliments a year later!
We loved working with her so much that we asked her to do our maternity/​paternity shoot a year later. Again, excellent work there too!
We could not recommend her more strongly, she is the best investment we’ve made!!!

Vivian is absolutely amazing, my husband and I got married at SF City Hall a couple weeks ago and we are from Orange county so it made me a bit nervous not being able to meet a photographer in person or find any referrals in the area. But when I looked at her gallery photos, I was very intrigued. Our pictures turned out beautifully and I am so glad we chose to work with her. She is very easy to work with, I am not normally good with taking photos so it was nice to have someone help capture such a memorable day. She did a great job and I would refer her to any friends or family.

I had one of Vivian’s associates, Lacy, photograph at my event. She did the great job, and the photos turned out quite well. It was very affordable. I definitely plan to come back for future life events!

WOW. Vivian is an amazing photographer with an instinctual eye for beauty. I went to her for a publicity photo shoot. She suggested a great area to capture the ideas I had, and we had some creative fun outside. The results were outstanding– in fact, almost too good! I don’t know how to choose which ones to use…
Also, she didn’t charge a ridiculous fee, like many photographers. I’ve spent $ 2,000 on a session and touch-​ups before, and had equally good results from Vivian for $ 300. I will definitely be going back to her in the future.

Vivan’s primary photographer, Mark Chua did such an amazing job at capturing anything and everything that I wanted! As soon as I spoke to him about the «feel» and what I wanted to capture, he nailed it. Not only did he provide me with the exact «vibe» that I was going for, but I received my photos in the most timely manner with some great shots that were by far, some of the best wedding photographs I have ever seen.
It was tough to call on how the images would come out, being that I had my wedding in the evening, so our only opportunity to do group shots was in the dark. Even with extreme chances of rain, really dark photos and bad to no lighting, the photos came out perfectly! Mark was professional throughout the process, he made me and my (now) husband feel comfortable and not awkward like most in front of a camera would be. All I had to do was tell him what I wanted to capture and gave him some reference photos and he did exactly that and so much more.
I would highly recommend Mark Chua and Vivan Sachs and her team, they know what to do and what to capture, at the best price and the turnaround time is not like other photographers. They work with you and really get to know you to really make the photos personable and unique. If that’s what you are looking for, please use them for your next event or special moment!

Vivian is a real artist.
She has great eyes to capture the most beautiful scene. We both love the tone and the composition of the photos so much. She’s so efficient too. I know photographer who charge way higher but the results are not as good as Vivian’s. I highly recommend her for any occasions!

I did an engagement photo with her. She was absolutely amazing! She was professional, but more over made us comfortable. Since we ourselves are not professional, I did not know how to express what type or style of photo image that I wanted. I sent her couple of key word and that was it. But the outcome… WOW she captured the moments, just as we wanted it to look like. I was amazed by her ability to capture the best atmosphere of the moment and the expression on people’s face.
Finally, as a person, she was amazing. We had great chats and conversation. It was one of those days, where I felt like I found another new friend :)
We got an amazing photo, along with an amazing fun day :)

Vivian did a photo session for my 1 year-​old daughter and the pictures are just amazing. As a frugal parent, I’m always looking for ways to save money, and we struggled with the decision to do this even though we own a fancy camera purchased solely for the purchase of capturing precious moments of our firstborn. I am so glad that we sprang for the session, since the photos Vivian took are so much better than any of the photos we’ve taken in this first year. Now I wish we’d done a photo session with her sooner, when my daughter was a newborn.
She even helped us pull together outfits for the photo shoot and gave us ideas on where we could take photos at our home.
Highly recommend her. She is easy to work with, has great ideas, and above all delivers amazing pictures!

Stop looking. You’ve found your photographer. Really, I don’t know where to begin. The images really speak for themselves. My husband and I had a SF City Hall wedding, just the two of us. Therefore, the rapport with our photographer really could be a day maker or a day breaker as we had more interaction with her than anyone. Vivian is very sweet and comfortable to be around. She’s just the cutest! But what we all really care about above all else is the product, right? We had the most romantic images. Right away, I trusted her artistic eye. She knew just how to pose us. Poses I thought might look uncomfortable or felt a tad awkward turned out darling! See the stair shot for an example of this :) Her talent really seems limitless. We had her for 3 hours and I wish we had more time. Each new setting for the photos is like unwrapping a new package. Insert these exclamations: «Look what she did here!» & «How cool is that?» Clocks, lights, and décor we never even noticed in «real life» delight us in the photos. We had the pictures in hand (via thumb drive) in a week! She was responsive, professional, and sweet. Also, she is very reasonable, no weird minimums or print rights bologna. Don’t hesitate to contact Vivian Sachs Photography! You won’t be sorry!

I recently (today) had my engagement photos taken by Vivian Sachs and one of her associates. I really had no choice but to immediately write a review because this girl is the crème de la crème of photographers. We just walked 8 miles on the Bay Bridge trail and Miss Sachs and her associate had not one complaint, but were pleasant and lovely to chat with the entire way. I have blisters all over my feet, so I can’t imagine their feet being in any less pain. However, not only did Vivian stay positive the entire time, she was so professional and easy to work with when snapping shots. I absolutely underestimated the distance of where we would be shooting and when we returned to our cars after the tortuous trek, Vivian was open to us doing a outfit change for more photos. She is professional and an absolute class act. What photographer walks that far?!? She does, and with a smile!

Vivian shot our engagement photos in January and will also shoot our wedding in October (so I’ll update this review after the wedding, too). Communication was responsive from the beginning, and when we met her in person for the engagement shoot, Vivian was sweet, down to earth, and easy to work with.
She has a great eye, and takes beautiful photos (just look at her blog!). Turnaround is very fast (I think it took a week, maybe even less). She even packages it with care (priority mail, cute envelope, and a note).
Tip: Trust the photographer and don’t be so self-​conscious. Perhaps I’m a little too much of a control freak, because I told her about all of the specific locations we wanted to shoot. Of course, she kindly obliged. After comparing some of our photos with her other clients’ on her blog, I realized that perhaps I should’ve given her more freedom to direct where to take the photos. Instead of shooting at the typical SF spots (where we wanted), she seems to make whatever setting work, and I’m sure the lighting and surroundings impact the final product. For example, some of our best shots were in settings I didn’t choose — on top of a hill where the lighting was perfect, and at a garden we happened to walk by. So lesson learned — let the pro direct the shoot :)
Even still, we’re really happy with our photos! She did a great job of capturing tenderness without being cheesy, like I’ve seen in a lot of other engagement photos.

It can be a daunting task searching for the right people to make your wedding day a perfect one. Choosing a photographer is one of the most important decisions you may make when planning for your wedding considering these pictures are everlasting mementos of the big day. I have loved Vivian’s work from early on, and knew that she would be on the top of my list.
«A picture is worth a thousand words.» This is so true with many of the pictures from our engagement session and wedding day… each with its own style. My husband and I had a fun and laid back engagement session. Vivian was able to accommodate our limited availability and location ideas. We did not know how to pose, but she made us comfortable and gave us helpful direction. Many of the pictures are some of our family’s favorites!
My husband and I were married in September. When we received our wedding pictures… oh my… we absolutely LOVED them! THANK YOU, Vivian, for capturing the joy, tiny details, and the overwhelming love we felt that day! Vivian truly has the eye for lighting, backdrops, and camera angles. There were things from the wedding we did not remember. We were ecstatic to see those special moments perfectly captured for us to reminisce and swoon over. Vivian and Mark, her second photographer, did such an amazing job! Super talented individuals and an outstanding team. Both are super sweet, funny, attentive, hard working and very professional. The pictures are simply breathtaking! They made us laugh, cry, and left us in awe. So much to look at, too :) We can’t wait to share them with family, friends, and the world!

Vivian is a pleasure to work with and is so incredibly talented. Not only is she one of the sweetest person I’ve had the pleasure to meet but she is also a true professional.
As much fun as we had taking the pictures, we were so afraid that they were going to look too posed or awkward since we were already feeling a little shy in front of the camera, but Vivian captured every moment so perfectly! I couldn’t believe how authentic and genuine the pictures turned out and how well they captured our love for one another.
We had gone back and forth as to whether or not we should take engagement pictures and her talented work has made us so grateful that we went for it! The worst part is that I love all of the pictures so much I don’t even know how I’ll be able to just pick one for our Save The Dates! OH and last thing to top off our amazing experience, we received the pictures back in less than a week! We couldn’t have asked for more!

Wedding photographer goes M.I.A. I contacted Vivian to hire her as our wedding photographer. We both came to an agreement on pricing, time, etc. and she said she would send me a contract with the next email. A week went by, and I heard nothing. I tried emailing her, and got no response. I called multiple times and left voicemails. It’s now been 3 weeks.
After not hearing from her for 3 weeks, the day after I wrote this review she sent me a scathing email.
She said she couldn’t believe I didn’t attempt to contact her once more before writing my review. Even though I attempted on 5 different occasions. And it’s not my job to hunt her down.
She said she didn’t like the tone of my review and how I handled the situation.
Seriously?

Do you like artistic, breath taking, photos that make you giddy? If so, go with Vivian. She has this certain anthropologyish style (I’m sure you can tell by looking at her pictures) that captures the moment. We were very happy to hire her as our engagement and wedding photographer. Wedding photos did take awhile to get but I think that’s an industry standard. She kept us updated every step of the way as perfect pictures take time.
I’m a guy who doesn’t know how to pose for pictures (uncomfortable at times) but she makes soooo sooooo soooooo relaxing to do. She’s a very down to earth person and easy to work with.

Vivian Sachs is truly an amazing person and photographer. My Fiancé and I booked her for our wedding and engagement session. Photography was extremely important to us, and by extremely, it was top priority! So, she was one of the first vendors we booked (after the venue)! We booked her over a year in advance of our wedding!
When I first saw her pictures/​portfolio/​website, I was truly amazed. After we met her for the first time, it was an easy decision for us to book her. She is super sweet, and was able to work with our budget while customizing our package so that we would have two photographers on the day of. She was very responsive during this whole process, and we were so happy to have her on our team!
We recently had our engagement shoot. Vivian is able to «picture» the picture before even taking a shot. She is creative and can direct each picture, letting us know how to pose, and made our shoot fun and smooth.
