Van Cleef & Arpels

I had no idea this Van Cleef & Arpels was a «separate» establishment… I usually come by to drool whenever I’m in Neimans.
Their small yet incredible displays have drawn me in more than a few times & I was even so bold as to try on a lovely diamond bird of paradise ring… which would have been paradise indeed… but alas, it was also $ 40,000…so we had to fly our separate ways
Their staff is equally lovely & they are always happy to bring out pieces for modeling — even when I let them know upfront I’m only browsing
The Alhambra jewelry line is also a great staple for any wardrobe & I’m loving the newest watches in the Alhambra shape
Or if you’re into the VCA «between-​finger» rings, they have those in abundance — flowers, butterflies — there is definitely something to catch your eye & inhabit your dreams

VCA is gorgeous stuff. The service was very friendly and informative, which was helpful because I don’t often buy gifts at this price level. Unfortunately the item I was looking for was unavailable, due to a US ban on coral! I browsed the store and found another selection that was as stunning as it was whimsical. As I browsed, the sales attendant offered me water, and returned with a bottle of Voss. Nice touch.
Oh, by the way, Neiman Marcus now accepts Visa!

This review is long overdue. I have been shopping at this VCA located in SF NM after it opened about 2 years ago. Since then, I have contributed most of my hard earned money to VCA, especially with the recent «many» price increases. I used to purchase from Costa Mesa location since there was no VCA salons in Northern CA and I did not like the BH location. I was initially skeptical about this location as it was a part of NM and did not offer the full salon collection. However, I have learned that one is able to special order many pieces (excluding salon exclusives, engagement rings, and wedding bands) even though they are not available at the store. I highly recommend my SA Tim Eng who is patient, unpretentious, and professional comparing to other SAs I have dealt with at NM. Tim will do his best to serve you and get the pieces requested. He has never given me an attitude and even became a good friend despite the many headaches and numerous requests I have given him in the past years!

If I had unlimited funds, I would spend it here. My absolute favorite jewelry brand is Van Cleef & Arpels. Tiffany’s has got nothing on Van Cleef and Cartier is a very distant second. I love the Alhambra collection the most. I already have a Magic Alhambra ring and a lovely Magic Alhambra necklace. Next on my list is the Vintage Alhambra earrings.
One day hopefully not in the distance future, I’ll have the 20 motif Vintage Alhambra necklace.

Perhaps I should really reevaluate this whole unmarried syndrome situation. I mean, I value my independence and all but damn… there are some really nice rings here. Of particular interest to me is the Diamond Solitaire Icon Engagement ring. Available in several carat weights (please…no less than one) and fit for a princess, this is a chunk of bling I could seriously get used to. I could also live with the Opera engagement ring, which I would be forced to request in at least 2 carats, as I have very large hands for such a dainty girl.
The sales associates are incredibly kind and helpful. They showed me all the things I (you) can buy me for just about any occasion at all! They also have tissues, for tears or drool. They’re located inside Neiman Marcus but they still manage to pack a lot of inventory and will happily special order things they don’t have on hand.
Moral of the story: these folks are all class and so am I. I am also a ring size 6, in case you need that information before heading in.

this VC&A may be located inside Neiman Marcus, but don’t let their size fool you! just about anything your heart desires can be special-​ordered!
