+ THE DRINKS
I ordered the mango slush and my boyfriend tried the jasmine green tea with mango bits. I loved the mango slush because it was the perfect amount of sweetness but it was not overpowering with sugar. There was a slight mango taste but not too strong. The jasmine green tea was good as well. It had a strong tea taste but wasn’t too bitter because the mango bits.
+ THE ENVIRONMENT
The place was opened up less than a year ago so everything was really clean and organized. I loved the interior because they had gorgeous walls. Even though the place is pretty small, they decorate the place so it feels pretty spacious.

Came here on a whim tonight after a successful job interview nearby. I figured since I’m already in the area, why not? It also definitely wasn’t busy for a Monday since I was the only customer in sight.
Parking — not too bad. There is plenty of metered and residential parking. It probably would be harder during the weekend though.
Service — they’re pretty nice and they made my drink quick.
Drinks — I ordered the regular lychee green tea with boba. I really like the drink itself! I think it has a nice balance between the green tea and the lychee flavoring. The boba wasn’t that good… Even though they did give me a generous amount, it was just a little too hard for my taste.
Not in a hurry to come back but I’m glad I got to try this place out. I really hope they work on the boba in the mean time…

A Great boba place on Noriega, solid on the tea. Came here on a Saturday afternoon, turns out their Happy hour buy 2 get 1 free deal is only valid on weekdays… We were disappointed but the staff was nice enough to give us a free upgrade!
I got a Jasmine green milk tea with mango bits. It was not too sweet, the milk does not overpower the green tea flavor. The tea is GOOD tea, bold and strong. The mango flavor comes from the actual mango bits, and definitely does not taste like a strong dose of mango syrup.
Great service, friendly staff, really great tea. I will definitely come back to try their other drinks!

Another boba spot that opened a while back along the Outer Sunset, but I’m rarely in the area so it’s nice seeing new places
Pros:
— Very simplistic interior, with the menu right in front of you upon entering the store.
— Menu consists of premium teas, milk teas, fruit teas, slushes, cremas, and coffee. You can adjust sweetness, ice levels, and what kind of toppings you’d like for additional cost.
— There are tables and seats inside if you’d like to enjoy your drink immediately upon receiving it.
— Typically in a majority of boba spots, their fruit teas are made with syrups for flavor, but TJ opts to using actual fruits and jams.
— Next to a few eateries, and even a Safeway
— Free WiFi while you wait for your drink
— They used to be cash only but know they also accept card
Cons:
— Drinks are sweeter than usual, so definitely lessen the sweetness if you don’t have a big sweet tooth and would prefer more tea tastes.
— Drinks take a bit long to make, even on less busy days
— Boba is a bit hard (based on what my sibling states. I never get toppings in my boba drinks hah)
— Because it is the Sunset district, it does get busy and parking is scarce sometimes.
I rarely drink milk, so I normally opt for premium teas or fruit teas. I liked their strawberry green tea and how there were actual strawberry bits. I like to lessen my level of sweetness because I like the taste of green tea!

Minus one star for serving a harder boba than other boba joints.
Otherwise service was friendly and helpful. I asked for a suggestion for what to get my kiddos (which I was picking up from school close by) and she recommended slushies or smoothies that don’t have caffeine in them. I ordered a large and she offered to split it into two cups. Now how’s that for friendly?
HH is 3p-​6p. Buy any 2 large beverages and get one shaken tea free!
Drinks are kind of pricer than Irving but a deal during HH.
I will update this when I return (have to find out if the hard boba was norm or not)…

So I’ve come here quite a few times now, and as much as I like this place, I do feel it feel that it doesn’t live up to a 5 star rating.
Don’t get me wrong the tea quality here it’s pretty impeccable, however as much as I love the tea quality here, the boba is just not cooked to well and in my opinion it’s way to chewy. I was really hoping it was a fluke the first time I came here but it’s not, that’s just how they cook their boba.
Hopefully they will work this kink out!

A new boba place in the Sunset district!
TJ Cups is actually a very unexpected location for a tea shop since I know Noreiga St. for its fresh produce and a few restaurants. Nevertheless, any boba place is welcome where ever in my opinion.
TJ Cups has several drink options, some of which even include ice cream. I decided to choose one of their popular options, which was Jasmine tea with fresh mango. The service was decently fast since they have 2 people working. I noticed that for my drink the cup was cracked, which is something that has never happened before. They told me it’s probably because I poked the straw through it, but I find it unlikely that I can crack plastic with a straw. They were able to give me a new cup, so there was no problem there. I liked that I could taste the tea flavor in the drink, but I do wish that the mango flavor was more prominent.
I think i’ll stop by again if I’m in the area!

Nowadays, I’m a tougher critic on boba. There’s just so many places now and they’re all competing to have either the best or most diverse type of boba drinks. Most spots allow you to customize the ice level and sweetness AND that’s a huge plus. I think TJ’s is competing to have the freshest ingredients in their drinks. And I’m going to have to say– they do! I came here two days in a row and both days I ordered their slush drinks. So I tried the white peach, lychee, and pineapple. And I use to make boba drinks so I can differentiate the ones with syrup and the ones with real fruit. The ultimate test was the lychee flavored one because that’s usually one that’s always made with syrup. But not this one! It was so refreshing! The pineapple slush tasted like the dole pineapple thing from Disneyland. YUM.
I can’t believe I just wrote a paragraph on boba drinks. This spot is worth checking out though. I would’ve given them 5 stars but their drinks are a little pricey lol.

I came here exactly at 12:00 noon on a Sunday. They were open but boba was not ready! I was told to come back at 12:30pm because the boba was still cooking.
Came back at 12:30pm sharp, boba is almost ready. I ordered the TJ Signature Pearl Milk Tea with boba. Due to me having to wait another 5 minutes for the boba, I got a free upgrade. Hell yea.
The drink wasn’t particularly strong in flavor, but did the job to quench my thirst. It wasn’t overly sweet which was a plus. Boba tasted good with a mild sweetness, but the middle was still a bit doughy and under-​cooked. I’ll probably come back, only if I’m in the area.

Normally, I always just order taro milk tea every boba place I go to. This time I decided to try something different.
4 stars for their AWESOME hot hazelnut black milk tea with boba. It was like heaven in my mouth!!!
This is a cool little boba place to just chill with a friend, they have a good set up inside and also seats and a high table along the wall almost like a bar set up. Pretty cool.
Will definitely be back for more hot hazelnut boba and also try their other items!

The tea is surprisingly good.
Ordered the Jasmine Green Tea with mango bits. Not bad at all.
Also tried the red bean matcha green tea smoothie. The blend of red bean and green tea isn’t too overpowering.
Give this a shot. But nothing special.

3.5 stars-​I like it, but I don’t love it.
They ran out of boba upon entering the store, (what!?) but I was determined to try this place out, so my friend and I came back in an hour.
An hour later-​we ordered 2 tea drinks (non milk). I had the black tea with strawberry bits and boba. My friend had the green tea with green apple and boba. They tasted great and refreshing! BUT the boba is just okay. I guess since I waited an hour for it, maybe I expected something amazing.
The service is great. Super nice and helpful staff. The atmosphere is nice, but it could use a few more tables and chairs imo.
Overall, I would come back. Love the tea, but the boba is just alright. I do prefer tpumps and supercue over it. However, the fruit bits do add a little something extra.

Loved my drink. Got a Premium Taro with tapioca. I decided not to cut down on the sweetness, just to try it out as a first time. It wasn’t too sweet and the tapioca had the right kind of chewiness. The milk tea was a bit grainy. It tasted of taro bits, not sugar powder, which I quite approve.
The regular size took me by surprise, because it looks a bit smaller than other places. Other than that, I think TJ Cups is a great place around this area. Service is quick enough and there’s a nice seating area in the back. I definitely want to come back again.

I ordered the jasmine green tea with mango bits and mango stars. The toppings were delicious but the tea itself was extremely bitter and kind of tasted like alcohol or how nail polish remover smells. Maybe I was a bad brew? My boyfriend got a green tea with orange bits and lychee jelly, again the toppings were what made the drink drinkable, the tea itself wasn’t great.
Maybe next time I’ll try a milk tea

Did not like my jasmine milk tea at all. It had a plastic-​like aftertaste which I did not enjoy.
The boba was ok.
They do not have egg pudding.

Their tea are alright. They only have five different type of tea: original, premium sakura, jasmine, oolong and brown rice tea.
Oolong tea was good! I loved it. The brown rice tea takes a little time to get used to. It tasted like those tea you get in korean restaurant, and milk. But i thought it was a good unique taste!

I gotta give them props for their spot. Well decorated and a good place to just sit and chill. Their service was a little slow, but not sure if that was because they were short in staff. Street parking are easy to find because it is residential area.

New boba place in the sunset!!! It’s currently their soft opening, but they open tomorrow 6÷6÷15!
Can’t say too much about their various drinks because I only tried one: mango jasmine green tea! Instead of mango stars, I opted for boba because I love boba! From my first sip, the mango GT was really refreshing. It wasn’t overly sweet, tasted like real GT, while still having a standout mango flavor! I also really liked the real mango chunks that’s included in the drinks, they add a lot of flavor when you’re chompin on your jellies/​boba! Unfortunately I don’t think the boba here is «honey boba», but they DO know how to cook it to the perfect texture! I hate when I get boba at places and you can tell when it’s undercooked… *cough*super cue*cough*
Prices are standard, with signature milk teas going for $ 3.50, and shaken fruit teas for $ 3.75. There are some fruit flavors i’m curious about because i’ve never seen them before, like white peach and and honey pomelo. Can’t wait to try them!
Service was fast (given I was 1 of the 3 people there, haha), and the lady at the register, who I presume is the manager/​owner, was really friendly and accommodating when I wanted to switch out the mango stars for boba.

We’ve got what feels like a million bubble tea options in the city now, but TJ is one in a million!
Drinks here are full of flavor, not sugar. There’s a prominent tea flavor in whatever tea you order, including the genmaicha milk tea, jasmine milk tea, and jasmine green tea that I’ve had. The genmaicha «brown rice» milk tea even even had bits of brown rice in it! I always have to reduce my sweetness level for drinks elsewhere, but the standard sweetness level here is enough to enhance the drink’s tea flavor rather than masking it with sweetness. If you’re used to sweeter drinks, TJ’s default sweetness would probably be about a 50−75% sweetness level elsewhere.
I don’t usually like fruity drinks because of the artificial taste from fruit syrups, but the fruit teas here have made me a fruity fan once again. The mango bits green tea includes real mango pieces, and the mango flavor blends with the green tea perfectly to create a sweet but not overwhelming or artificial flavor. The mango stars topping complements this drink well if you’re looking for something to chew on.
The topping selection isn’t as wide as other places, but their honey boba has an enjoyably chewy and soft texture. Strawberry stars is an option of theirs they have that I’ve never seen elsewhere.
Despite the shop’s small space, the interior is spacious and clean. There are about three or four tables for seating inside, and there are outlets if you’ve got your laptop. The rustic wood walls contrast the sleek and modern tables nicely.
TJ is the latest and one of the greatest in the city’s bubble tea scene. Definitely check them out if you enjoy a nice tea flavor and ambiance!

Second time coming after grand opening and I unfortunately have to downgrade one star. Don’t get me wrong, service was great. Milk tea quality did not satisfy.

TJ special signature milk tea 4.00 (L): very… Bland. Reminded me of quicklys. And that’s … Not my fav boba shop. Bobas were inedibly chewy to the point where I just had to swallow. That’s NOT what she said ty very much.
Mango bits with jasmine tea 4.00 (L): watered down as concluded by my friend and I. Didn’t taste much mango???
Luckily it was their BOGO promotion, buy one get one free … So we paid $ 2 for the drinks.
Still loving the décor. Could use a little more seatings as they only had 3 tables.
