Bubble Tea & Dessert Cafe

I recommended this place wholeheartedly!!! Firstly the taro and sweet potato dessert tastes great with toppings like sweet red bean, shaved ice, handmade yam and others; secondly, they also offer oden with spicy and sweet sauce which is amazing just like traditional Taiwanese dessert! Finally, the bubble tea here has a really wide range of choice far beyond your expectation. But keep in mind, it serves in a really large size even the small one is enough for two people as far as I know.

Someone working at Bubble café is a wonderful individual who hand delivered my lost wallet to my house (had my I.D., credit cards, and other misc). Or maybe it is the entire staff /​company itself, as the note that came with it was addressed from «Bubble Café», but someone took time out of their day to ensure it got back to me. I am very, very grateful! Thank you so much!

This place is the best Asian style dessert place I’ve ever been to.
I have to start with the taro balls. I’ve tried other taro balls in other places but always ended up feeling disappointed. Their taro balls taste homemade and are really close to the ones I had in Taiwan.
Their spicy dip is also very good. I was a little skeptical at first so I only order a few items just to try it out. The food was done quickly and was very flavorful.
The traffic around this area is a nightmare and it’s a good idea to park few blocks away and walk.

First time here, it’s not bad. I like the tofuhua with handmade taro balls. Next visit, I want to try their soy sauce dip and China spicy dip: P

A hidden gem in The Sunset.
Located off of Noriega and 32^nd, it’s easy to pass by this place. I stumbled across it while walking home one night and it caught my eye. Not sure how long it has been here since I haven’t heard much about it. The place is clean and actually very spacious for a Boba and dessert place, probably more so than Beach N Boba (RIP). They make well use of the space, making great for group hangouts.
Haven’t had their desserts yet, so I’ll update this review when I do. As for their tea…
The Sunset is the heart of what I call the Boba Battlefield here in the city, so Bubble has a lot of competition to go against. So far, they get it pretty on point with the boba. Not mind blowing, but definitely a step ahead of other places. To me the texture is just right.
My brother and I got a standard milk tea and a fruit tea and both were pleasant. I asked for less sugar in my milk tea, and it’s exactly what I look for. My brother’s strawberry tea was quite refreshing, as the strawberry seeds added a neat texture. Makes me want to ask if they use real fruit as well…
All in all, Bubble is a neat place to check out and maybe even stay for awhile. With TJ being it’s neighboring competition, Bubble offers a much more spacious place to hangout and of course desserts.

Frankly, I think I need to come back again to see what their other items are like as I don’t think I got a good sense of it the first time around. The iced green tea latte with lychee jelly I got was good but the jelly was in huge chunks so it was hard to suck up. Got eggettes also, they were ok. Not as good as THE eggettes. My friend got a dessert bowl thing and it was pretty good, I’m not a huge fan of Asian desserts but I’d eat this again. Her drink was by far the best, hot barley milk tea. Pretty tasty.

Needed some tea after stuffing our faces with AYCE meat. Me and the sister got a Grapefruit Green Tea to share and good thing we did because it was ginormous! It was pretty good. Good grapefruit flavor with a hint of green tea.
Overall, it quenched our thirst (for days) and that’s what we went there for.

Their dessert bowls are generally good, but the one time we ordered a matcha tapioca drink, it was a flavorless powdery mess — so maybe stick with the non-​drink options!
My favorite is the mix and match bowls, since you get to pick exactly what you like. Sometimes they do run out of certain ingredients when it’s busy, but the staff who work there are really helpful and friendly.
No drinks from here for me, but I do want to try their puddings at some point!

I’ve only had the bowls, I picked two random ones. I wasn’t a fan of the soup or toppings. I’m not a fan of desserts in general so this was probably a bad choice on my part. I came here after eating AYCE at osaka (it’s like across the street).

I’ve only tried the pudding jars, and they’re such a cute concept! They have 5 flavors — oolong tea lychee, passion fruit jasmine, espresso red bean, jasmine matcha milk and bubble boba milk tea!
I’ve tried all but the passion fruit jasmine. They’re pretty good! I like how this concept is kind of different from other boba/​dessert places. They’re fun to eat and you get to keep the adorable little jar! My favorite would have to be the espresso red bean, but the oolong tea lychee comes up close.
I haven’t tried their drinks, but I’ve been told their jasmine milk tea tasted watered down. It got really crowded late at night, and the «mix and match» bowls seem to be a huge popular item! We were lucky to get a table and within our ~one hour of sitting there, we saw probably almost 10 of those mix and match bowls being ordered! Honestly, I don’t see the craze about them but that’s just me!
Not sure if I’ll be back, but I’ll be willing to come back for those pudding jars/​drinks with my friends/​family that haven’t tried ‘em!

So happy there’s a new milk tea place in the area. The menu is quite extensive but I always go with a black milk tea or roast sencha milk tea + grass jelly and 50% sweet. The girls that work there are all very friendly.
I also really like their Spicy Chuan dips. They have a variety of items to choose from. My favs would be quail eggs, turnip, sausages and fish balls with eggs inside. Portions look small but it’s actually pretty filling.
Skip the puddings. Cute lookin but they were not good.

My friends and I were looking for a boba place, and Bubble Tea was one of the few still open in the area after 10 pm. I’d been avoiding this place because of its 3-​star rating lol. And in my opinion, Unilocalers got it right.
Service was slow. After I had decided my order, I waited maybe like 5 – 10 minutes before my order was taken since the cashier was helping make drinks… I mean, I didn’t mind waiting, but I expect more since other boba places are relatively quick, even at peak hours. It’s not like there was a crazy amount of people waiting in line either, my friend and I were the only ones in line actually. Felt like it took a while for my drink to be ready too. Chopchop on that time management! :P
My rose tie guan yin tea mousse was alright, not really deserving of being in the top 10 most popular drinks imo. After taking a few sips, I think the tea mousse is basically Bubble Tea’s version of a sea salt crema. The vanilla rock salt and tie guan yin tasted good together, but the taste overall was lacking. There wasn’t a hint of a rose taste at all, and the tie guan yin could have been a lot stronger.
I think the cashier (s) need to do a better job of clarifying your order, making sure you’re getting what you want. I wasn’t asked whether I wanted the vanilla rock salt or cheese rock salt in my tea mousse. I wasn’t told that my drink didn’t have boba until the cashier heard my friend ask me if I wanted boba in my drink. My friend wanted a drink that was more on the sour side, but the cashier wasn’t very helpful in specifying how much less sweet they could make her drink.
Although I personally didn’t like Bubble Tea that much, I could tell that it has its own loyal following; the tables were pretty much all occupied. It’s nice that they close later than the more popular boba places, but my first impression of their drinks and service doesn’t beckon me back for more.

LOVE LOVE LOVE their desserts! Extremely cute and cozy restaurant!
FOOD: Between the 5 of us girls we shared a mixed bowl ($ 6) and 2 puddings ($ 4 each) and it was plentiful. For the mixed bowl we picked grass jelly for the base. It came with sweet potato balls, taro balls, green and red bean, taro chunks, and bobas. It was SOOO GOOD!!! The sweet potato and taro balls were very chewy. There was a bit too much of the ice though. They also have savory Taiwanese desserts!
The puddings were really cute! They came in these small glass jar (which you can keep). I really liked the matcha green tea one. The pudding was made in 2 layers and each has its own flavor. It’s a good portion for one person.
SERVICE: The waiter at the counter was very friendly. The order was ready within 5 minutes. Very fast!
SETTING: The place is located in the residential part of outer sunset. The interior is really clean and cozy. There are about 7 – 8 tables. There are also TV screens with menus, paper menus, and mini menus, so lots of ways to order.
PRICE: Total was $ 15 so we paid $ 3/​person. The price was veryyyy reasonable and definitely worth it for the quality of the dessert.
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Cute place for cute and creative desserts. Will definitely come here again!!!

First time and wow, I’m impressed! At first, I didn’t expect much because it’s kind of a hole in the wall. However, once you step inside, its really fresh and hip. The menu is huuge and their drinks are great or at least from what I got (Japanese red bean and buckwheat milk tea). Service was okay but I can’t say much since it was just a quick boba stop. Overall, I would definitely come back again to try out their dessert!
Everything looked aesthetically pleasing so I was a bit stuck on what to order. I decided to ask one of the workers and her recommendation for milk tea was:

Hmm, sounds strange but wow… This tasted absolutely amazing! I’m bad with descriptions but, this had a refreshing roasted golden tea flavor. Definitely a strong kick. The boba was also wonderful. Very chewy and bouncy, which is how I like my boba!
+ Ice milk grass jelly and boba:
The boyfriend ordered this and not bad. This drink is pretty common so I didn’t find anything special. Just sweetened milk with toppings. Still a good drink though!
This boba and dessert shop is a bit hidden in the residential area but give it a shot! Have yet to try out their dessert so I will definitely come back. For now, FOUR STARS mainly for their drink and nice ambiance!

I always wondered why this section of Noriega didn’t have a boba place. It was missing a place like this. This place is located right behind the Wells Fargo bank so it’s not on the busy Noriega street. The place has a really big menu, so you might need more time to decide what type of boba you want. Here’s what they have

I only had the flossy pork egg puff here, and it took a long time for them to make. I’m not sure why, i only had one customer ahead of me and the customer behind me got their drinks before my eggettes. I wished the flossy pork was inside the egg puff instead of on the top and bottom. Overall, the next time i come back i’ll try a drink, i noticed they have a red bean smoother, sounds interesting.

I was surprised that this hole in the wall had so much seating. But good luck finding one on a Friday night! Came here twice within three days.
First visit tried the Japanese black sesame tea with boba. Probably would have been better as a milk tea, adding a bit more creamy texture to go along with the flavor.
Second visit ordered the hot grass jelly with 6 toppings: sweet potato balls, taro balls, sweet potato, red bean, boba, and aloe. It looked NOTHING like the photos all over the place. It tasted ok but otherwise nothing special.
Verdict: I’ll probably stick with Golden Island and Creations for now.

Regular drinks come in one of those chubby cups like quickly…
Teas are good
The homemade bobas alright. Had chew but not enough to be great

the flossy pork egg puff comes under cooked. Maybe cause the floss pork is in the batter?

They have a lot of different drinks and a lot of different toppings. I’ve tried two drinks here and they were pretty okay. I’ve had better but I’ve also had worst… This place falls in between and is perfect when you’re grabbing food in the area and don’t wanna drive up Noriega for boba or anything.
Black Tea Latte, Milk Green Tea. Both with the clear boba.
I think the black tea latte was a little sweet for me — I need to modify it next time, if I order it. I like the mix of tea and milk though — it was a nice balance. Not bland or watered down.
The milk green tea was a basic drink that I’m glad cannot get messed up. If you mess up a basic drink, it concerns me. The drink itself was just right — the right amount of sweet and everything.
A lot of people have ordered their desserts but I haven’t tried them yet.
Good number of tables and there are stools and a counter near where the drinks are made for you sit and chill or wait too.

Had the jasmine milk tea. When I ordered the girl was like «you know we do not have regular boba, right?»
um, how would i know that?
Not bad but not great. It’s pretty creamy but not sweet enough for me.

After continuing to pass on by over the past couple weeks, I finally decided to give Bubbles a try.
The menu here is pretty extensive and reminded me almost of a Quickly’s in all the various options of drinks to choose from. The menu also boasts a wide range of Asian desserts and snacks, from snow ice to milk pudding bottles to curry fish balls. I opted for the $ 2.95 Peach Melon Green Tea myself and a $ 3.75 Jasmine Milk Tea for D.
Prices are very reasonable considering Bubbles uses the same giant fatty cups as Purple Kow. My drink was ok — not the best I’ve had, though not the worst, and while it did include chunks of canned peaches, I did not taste the melon flavor. D really enjoyed his Jasmine Milk Tea, impressed with how strong the tea flavor came across.
Given how convenient Bubbles is from us (just a block away!), we will be back for more Jasmine Milk Tea for D and TBD for me.
