Tumay is a San Francisco based photographer. She was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. She moved to San Diego, California in 2000 where she studied Early Childhood Development. After working with children for over a decade, her passion for photography led her to San Francisco Academy of Art to study photography. She is passionate about what she does and it shows in her work.

It was a pleasure working with Tumay at Tiny Forest Photography. I wanted photos taken of me and my 3 year old girl capturing what we do on a daily basis in our neighborhood on a typical day, and Tumay made it easy for us to do that. I’m camera shy and so is my daughter, so it made it more comfortable and easy for us when she had us do what we normally do and she followed us to capture those special moments. Tumay is also great with kids too! I will definitely contact Tumay again at Tiny Forest Photography when I have my next child. ;)

I had the great fortune of coming across Tumay through the SF parents of multiples club. She came to my home to do a newborn photo shoot (crucial for a mom of newborn twins) and had so many great, creative ideas. She was so easy to work with, which came across in the relaxed, genuine feel of the photos. She captured so many great sweet and quirky expressions of our twins that we love so much, along with some very tender moments. We surprised our family with the photos this Christmas and they were blown away. I would highly recommend Tumay to take your newborn photos!

We are new in SF and had hard time choosing a photographer for our maternity photos
When I saw Tumay’s page in Unilocal and reached out I knew she’s the one!
Tumay came to see the location a few days before the shooting and came up with originals ideas.
At the shooting day — She came with a wonderful, very nice helper what made everything very easy. Tumay let us feel very comfortable and make the whole thing enjoyable and fun!
We started at our apartment and then took a walk towards Castro st and 18th st and if I wasn’t so tired we were probably had continue to search for more great spots in the area!
Unlike most of the providers, We got our photos and YouTube slideshow in a few days.
Tumay has become our friend and I recommend her for any kind of event — Maternity photos, Baby Showers, Wedding etc.

Tumay was recommended to us through a friend to be our wedding photographer. My fiancé and I weren’t in love with the idea of having traditional wedding photos taken so we were delighted that Tumay was full of creative ideas! The day of the wedding, things were very chaotic and my husband and I were tired and stressed. Tumay was able to put us at ease with her warm energy and fun personality. She has the confidence and ability to take control in a hectic situation but never comes across as pushy. After a week of talking to endless amounts of people and making decision after decision, it was really nice for someone to just sort of guide me by the hand, smile, and say, «Trust me. This will be amazing!» Needless to say, she was right, and we ended up having a blast with beautiful photos to prove it. Thanks again Tumay!

We absolutely loved working with Tumay and her assistant for our maternity photo shoot. She was able to find great lighting in a handful of different locations. Our favorite was that she came to our home where we felt very comfortable. The pictures were ready in no time and they all came out lovely! It was really hard to choose a fav. I would recommend Tumay for any photography needs and look forward to doing our next shoot very soon!
