It was a great pleasure working with Lex… He mounted 2 TV’s and did an awesome job! He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, upbeat, polite and very well-​mannered. Lex is a perfectionist, and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with his work. I would highly recommend him! He even cleaned up after the job! I will call him again for any tech needs. He exceeded my expectation! :)

I was very pleased with these guys. We had a scheduling snafu, but they took full responsibility and even offered a small discount for the mounting service. They were great to deal with to get estimates and the like, and even corresponded responsively via email, soliciting pictures of the space and specifics re: the hardware.
When Lex arrived, I mentioned that I wanted to mount the TV above our fireplace. He took one look at the room, though, and suggested an alternative location which is much more suitable for multiple viewing angles. Furthermore, his proposed alternative was much cheaper. He had a wealth of experience to draw from, and I appreciated his perspective.
He also asked if we had a preference between in wall vs. out of wall wires. He was careful to delineate the costs before he started work. And he came with a comprehensive toolkit for both installations.
Lex is a super nice, sociable person. It’s clear that he’s a professional who knows his stuff. I recommend him enthusiastically and would use him again.

I am so glad I called these guys to mount my 70 inch TV and to set up my Apple equipment. Lex was very friendly and professional. I’m going to recommend them to all my friends. P. s they kept everything very clean and that’s a big plus.

They mounted my 60 inch tv above my stairs. He had to balance on a ladder while mounting a very heavy tv. The mount I used extends from the wall 32 inches and weighs at least 40 pounds. This installation was crazy! I made him remount it 3 times because I wasn’t sure exactly where I wanted the tv on the wall.
I highly recommend using tech guyz and asking for Lex. He is extremely experienced and does not rush the job. I’ve had a big tv mounted in another room by a different company and those guys rushed through the whole process and did a terrible job. The funny thing is lex charged me less even though he was mounting ABOVE STAIRS on a ladder!

Lex is AMAZING! He came to our house and helped us design a full Sonos system throughout our house, not only that, he helped optimize our wireless network and setup a few TVs as well. When we were ready he came and set up all the systems for us. He took his time to make sure the job was done right and thoroughly and his quote I felt was really reasonable for everything he did for us. I would recommend him for all your AV and network needs!

Over the years, tried several «home theater technicians». Lex from The Tech Guys is by far the best. Knowledgeable, pleasant, fast and creative — plugged in the new AppleTV and programmed the universal remote in no time, and made several suggestions for improving the set up further. We already have the next project planned for him. Highly recommend.

The Tech Guyz were great! Lex provided me with an honest quote for the work I requested and provided great suggestions to make my apartment look amazing.
He was willing to put in the extra effort and go the extra mile by coming to my place on a Sunday to install my surround sound system. He was friendly, professional, efficient, and knowledgeable.
I have a small apartment in San Francisco so it was crucial for me to hide as many wires as possible and make the living room room look clean (hid and organized the wires in the walls and ran the wires to the back of the room noticeably). Lex did that with ease and I truly feel that the value of my apartment increased.
Also, Lex has a background with Comcast and AT&T equipment. He was able to help me sort out and organize the one hundred wires that Comcast provides for internet/​cable/​security.
Not only was the work professionally done, but also, the price was very reasonable. Will definitely look to bring back Tech Guyz to help me with my next project.

I’d actually HOPED Tech Guyz would respond to this review! Why? Because I didn’t want to make the review so long with all the crap they pulled, that people wouldn’t read it. But luckily, I’ve another chance!
First off, I didn’t «lie» to the assistant, Kristin. In fact, she admitted to accidentally giving me the wrong price (UNKNOWINGLY by me, until Lex, the owner, had her add an additional $ 25 fee).
I’d originally called asking the price to move a 55″ to my bedroom, & a 65″ to my TV room. I even sent pictures.
The «story» the owner of Tech Guyz refers to, is no story at all. My mother passed away from Non Small Cell Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Lung cancer. I have, in fact been on disability, and much to The owner’s dismay, I’m still employed. I haven’t experienced a «job loss».
The «$ 4000 TV» he judges me on (did he Google this price? I only found out the value when the Estate advised me), was ordered by my mother before her death, & was held by the Estate until a few months ago. The owner/​installer was VERY much aware of this.
I’m unsure who he’s referring to in «our work» because the owner/​installer was alone. I DID offer to help, because I knew at that point Tech Guyz was doing the job for less. And trust me, he USED my help! «Hand me my drill», «Where’s your measuring tape?», «Lift the TV a little higher.», «Thanks for the flashlight back here, it definitely helped».
«Begging to help»? He NEEDED my help, at least for the bedroom TV. In fact, he high-​fived me at one point.
How many times did the owner/​installer run in & out of my house to get something from his truck in the rain? Maybe 4 – 5.
How many times did he remove his wet shoes upon returning from the rain outside? ZERO.
The Tech Guyz was FULLY aware that I’d done previous in wall wiring upstairs (as this owner/​installer witnessed himself), but he wanted to sell me crap from his truck to keep the wires outside & time less, knowing the kit was already paid for & right THERE!
He offered his professional tools. (which at the time, I thought was very nice, until his rebuttal). He knew I had my own tools to do the job, just not as easily. BTW, he’d also used MY tools, but didn’t think it necessary to nit pick.
As far as him trying to play the racist card with me, I’m 2 (TWO) minority’s, and joked about MYSELF to him. This was of course after he took 2 personal calls during the install. One of which was from his grandmother who was so loud thru the phone, I had to step outside of my bedroom. And I could still hear what she said. And trust me, you’d be shocked! Any & all comments were made in a joking manner, and not only did he laugh with me, it was nothing in comparison to what grandma had to say!
If I were a racist, I wouldn’t have shook his hand upon meeting him, offering him a drink, etc. PUH-​LEASE, really? I’d asked if it was difficult to start his own business, &
He responded? «Yeah, because I’m black!» That wasn’t the answer I was looking for. He knew I was asking because I’d love to do the same.
I guess I now understand why he said his company has such a «high turnover rate». Perhaps the employees are treated like the customers?
The owner/​installer seemed fascinated with money. Right down to the price of the TV I’d received from my mom’s Estate. He even suggested I use one of HIS mounts, instead of the mount I’d already had, which was «specifically made for THIS particular TV»!!
The Tech Guyz were never asked to work for free, & apparently don’t know how to thank someone who could’ve sat back & not helped at all. ESPECIALLY since this installer was by himself.
All I WANTED, was to get what I was TOLD I paid for. TWO TV’s INSTALLED.
Tech Guyz– Swallow your pride & admit you made a pricing mistake. Honor that screw up. It wasn’t MY fault! Don’t blame everything on the customer. It seems they only respond to negative reviews, & the pattern is to blame the customer. Just like I was blamed for the wiring upstairs, but it was the INSTALLER, who forgot to plug the wire extension back into my power strip.
So the work was worth $ 750?
* To have the carpet cleaned from the muck brought in from the owner/installer’s wet shoes would be about $ 250
* The repair to the floor board/​wall that Tech Guyz damaged would be around $ 200 + supplies.
* Had I not noticed the protective film behind the «$ 4000 TV» wasn’t removed, (which clearly states, «Remove Protective Film Before Operating TV»), it might’ve been $ 4000 to replace it by overheating.
I’m sorry you’re angry for getting another negative review! Only SO many friends & employees will join Unilocal & leave their one & only review, (that just happens to be 5 stars & 1 – 2 years old without any other reviews written after.) Hmm?
You’ll notice Tech Guyz likes to take pictures of their completed work. The owner/​installer almost took a pic of my TV, & then realized it wouldn’t be such a great pic for his collection. BUT! Luckily *I* posted pics!

Lex and Sean did a great job mounting my 55″ TV and sound bar on top of my fire place. They gave me multiple options on how I could hide the cables and they were very honest. Lex cleaned up the horrible cable wiring Comcast did and I was able to move my cable modem to a hidden area. I couldn’t thank him enough. Basically Lex fixed all the eye sores and flaws, I had in my prior setup. Highly Recommended and Very professional.
A few hours pass, I noticed the cable service on my other tv weren’t working. I called Lex and he tried to help me fix the problem over the phone but unfortunately it didn’t work. He came back to my house. After another 30 – 45 min he was able to fix the problem. The man stayed professional. He also gave me a few tips to tell Comcast if the problem came back. Very impressed

These guyz rocked! They were utterly professional (took their shoes off upon entry), did an excellent job mounting our three TV’s in record time.

Lex and his assistant did a great job mounting our 55″ TV into lava rock fireplace. They had not done this surface before, but took on the challenge and explained their process clearly. They were patient and answered all my questions. Price is very reasonable and they come prepared with the mount, so you don’t have to get one yourself. Highly recommend them! Tech Guyz also support the local community! Love how our living room looks.

Lex and his staff where wonderful they came to my house and did a excellent job. Very professional job very clean job and I would highly recommend The Tech Guys.
I have them Install three 4k led TV and very accurate wall mount and wires where in wall again a superior job well done.

I recently had Lex and his team mount a large screen TV. Lex and his team are super-​responsive — i was able to get the job done within 24 hours.
I highly recommend these guys — and their prices are very reasonable!

Let me first start off by saying I rarely post a review. like ever.But Lex and his team are as good as it gets when it comes to installing/​mounting televisions and equipment. I even got them to hook up my Nest thermostat!
They were HONEST (Price was set at the beginning after openly discussing exactly what I wanted I set up), efficient, and made sure it was done correctly the first time. I had Lex install 3 televisions, 2 soundbars, and a Nest Thermostat.
Two days later, Lex called and checked up to make sure I was completely happy with the installation.
There are plenty of hustlers when it comes to this type of business, but Lex is definitely NOT one of those folks — he takes pride in making sure the job is done right.

Lex from The Tech Guyz is a mastermind! He came first to mount my TV on a swivel mount. When my cable and Internet was installed, he came back to mount the DVR box behind the TV, put the cable box into a cable box closet, and hid all of the wires. It looks amazing! This is the only handyman you should trust in SF.

We needed to have a cable wall outlet installed in our new house. Called the Guyz, they gave a one-​hour window for arrival the very next morning. Showed up on time, very professional, very efficient. Did the work for a flat fee, no extras for parts or anything else. If we need help setting up our TV, I will definitely contact them.

I called the Tech Guyz on a Sunday morning to see if they could hide the wires in our wall with our mounted TV. They gave me an appointment that day. Lex, our technician, showed up perfectly on time. He explained our options and suggested putting our cable box and other devices in the garage, which is directly behind the wall our TV is mounted on. We didn’t even think of that, and we’re so happy that was the route we took.
He told us the repeater part we’d need which they sell for very cheap at Radio Shack, and waited for my husband to go out and buy it. Lex did such an amazing job, it looks very professional and our TV looks awesome without any wires and no cable box in sight. Lex was really nice and great to chat with while he worked. These guys know what they are doing!

We asked specifically if they were familiar w working with plaster walls and were assured they were. We got a huge hole in our wall. See photo.

To clarify, The Tech Guyz have another outpost in SAN MATEO. 100 North Bayshore Blvd. Fortunately, I knew that or I would not have called them.
We moved into a home that appeared to be cable-​ready but wasn’t really. When Comcast came out, the wire were cut but still in the walls and the outlets were on the walls like nothing had ever happened.
Lex and Benji showed up and took care of wiring to the 2^nd floor quickly and neatly. In fact, it looks better than four of the houses on our block. They had everything they needed, brought booties and explained what they were doing. Tip: if you have one of their trifold brochures, you get 10% off. Fee for using credit card but they do accept checks.
Professional and they left no mess. Lex was knowledgeable and reassuring. Would def use them for other work.
