The Posture Studio of San Francisco

Krista is a superstar and it doesn’t take very long to figure that out. Her personal history and struggle with chronic pain make her a uniquely able to lead people to transform their lives. Her energy and passion for networking the entire city of San Francisco shines through in all her interactions. I am sure this same passion translates into the care of her patients. As a medical doctor at CarePractice I would recommend her highly to any of my patients.

Krista is fantastic. She gave me a full work up on my posture, pointing out causes to a variety of pains I’ve been having. I really appreciate the way she looks at your entire posture and how it affects you — very holistic. Her space is fun, comfortable, and inviting. She gave me a set of exercises to do at home, and when I do them, I notice a marked difference. I’m so happy to have found her!

Ever since I hurt my knee skiing 2 years ago, I’ve noticed more and more asymmetries in my body that were impairing my stability and balance. One shoulder hiked up, a leg torqued weirdly, and one foot pointed wide. I tried yoga and Pilates in an attempt to fix the issues, but nothing seemed to address the misalignment in my joints until the lovely Ms. Krista Bray introduced me to the Egoscue Method.
I was surprised I had never heard of it, since I am familiar with many forms of body work, but I was willing to give it a try. I was genuinely shocked at the changes that took place after only one session. Ms. Bray analyzed my posture and prescribed a series of exercises custom designed to address the specific imbalances in the way that I habitually carried my body weight. She led me through each one, explaining its purpose and function, and at the end of the session I couldn’t believe how great I felt! Not only had the twist in my knee and hip shifted, so that I felt balanced and centered, the mystery pain in my neck, shoulders and wrist had eased, and maybe best of all, the tension that chronically lived in my face and furrowed brow was totally relaxed and released! I had no idea that all this varied tension, pain, and instability were inter-​related, and could be adjusted with movement that I could do at home! This, to me, was far preferable than having to rely endlessly on a practitioner to «work on» me.
My only regret is that I didn’t follow up with more sessions with Krista. I am pretty disciplined about working out so I thought I’d kind of wing it on my own (and I did, for a while), but without the benefit of follow-​ups, I kind of slacked off on doing my exercises and fell back into old posture habits. Luckily, Krista has assured me that I am welcome back at any time, and that she will work within my budget so that I can finish the course of my posture re-​alignment. She was really supportive and obviously knows her stuff. I’m so excited that there is something I can actually DO about the problems that I thought I was just going to have to cope with for the rest of my life, that I felt inspired to spread the word about the Posture Studio of SF. And now I am all re-​psyched and looking forward to finally being able to do tree pose on my right leg without tipping over.
