The Grateful Dent

I received a call from Rob to let me know that he does not cover my service area. Even though he does not cover my area, he took the time to ask about the dent and provide suggestions on getting it repaired.
I reached out to Rob in San Francisco because the 3 – 4 five star rated paintless dent repair companies in my area (Danville) have not returned my calls. Some were left message on ¹²⁄₂₂ and ¹²⁄₂₃.
Unfortunately, I cannot speak to his work, but if it is as good as his business skills and concern for others I am sure it is fantastic.

Rob took me in last minute and pulled off magic on the side of my new Lexus. Removing dents is an art form and Rob has perfected it.

Rob adjusted to my schedule and came on a Sunday. He did a great job on my car and my daughter’s car at an extremely reasonable price. I’d highly recommend him.

Rob is a total pro. He arrived five minutes early, and made a truly positive first impression. He’s a very nice fellow, he’s completely honest about what he can and can’t do, and his customer service matches his ample expertise. He worked quickly but cautiously, and produced results that certainly exceeded expectations. Combine all this with very reasonable pricing, and it simply gets no better. Five stars aren’t quite enough, and I’ll be recommending The Grateful Dent to anyone and everyone, with zero hesitation.

He met me at my office. Charged way less than a body shop. He is honest in both estimation and price point aware. I was hit entering 280 at Hickey. Clipped on the driver side by a chinese lady on Ambien. Very happy customer.

Rob has done work on both my wife’s and my own vehicle. Not only is the work great and fair priced, Rob is honest and will tell you in advance how he feels the repair will work out. The repairs consisted of significant dents and minor door dings. For the larger dent on our 9 yr old car, we felt that a dent repair (about 90% perfect) was sufficient if the cost was well below our insurance deductible. For the smaller repairs (unlucky — softball foul ball) and door dings (vertical dings from compact parking spots), his work was great. I consider them to be about 95% prefect which was great for cost and timeliness. No more staring at annoying door dings everyday!

Contacted via phone and sent a pic of the dent. They returned my call promptly with a quote. Tech showed up on time and fixed the dent as promised. High quality work. Dent was not noticeable after repair. Definitely recommend and would use again.

I called Rob to get a door ding out of my truck and a golf ball dent out of my SUV. He answered the phone, was very professional and was even able to give me an estimate over the phone. Rob showed up 15 minutes early to the appointment and after a quick description of the issues he went to work. He charged a very fair price. Grateful Dent will definitely be my first call next time I need a dent removed!

I had recently purchase a Mazda Miata for the summer and it had some small dents from the parking lot. On dark colors these are very obvious and I was thinking about having them fixed. I read some of the reviews on Rob of the Grateful Dent and he had received almost all five star reviews. I called Rob, left a message and within 30 minutes he called back and we had an appointment set-​up.
When Rob came over he told me what to expect and what the results would be. He gave me reasonable quote and I was quite satisfied with his workmanship on my Miata. He does Grate work!

Rob came highly recommended from the dealership where I get my cars maintained. Rob returned my voice message within 30 minutes. Actually, Rob met me at the train station across from downtown Burlingame while I conducted an important business meeting. I left for the meeting with a three dents on my hood caused by a big pine cone. When I returned, I came out an hour later to a near perfect hood. You can’t even tell there was a dent unless you look real hard. Very professional, very fair, and highly recommend Rob’s services.

Rob was accommodating on schedule, completed the work (7 small dents on an ’05 Audi) as promised, and charged a fair price. Not sure what more you could ask for. I highly recommend his services.

I had several dents on the hood and roof of my car from someone getting hyphy on it in the middle of the night. Who does that?
Rob gave us a fair quote, and was super easy to work with. He got the dents pulled out and it is almost perfect again. It could not have come out better without getting a new hood and having it painted to match my car. Rob was honest and did an amazing job. For the price and convenience, this was way better than doing an insurance claim.

I called Grateful Dent and left a message for Rob explaining my situation. My new car had been run into while parked on the street and the asshole responsible didn’t so much as leave a note. He did, however, leave a softball sized dent in the hood.
Rob called me back within 2 hours. I drove down the street to meet him and after examining the situation he recommended that I go with someone else! Why in the world would anyone do that!!!
Rob explained that he could repair the damage up to 80 or 90%, but since I bought the care for aesthetic purposes he recommended I go through insurance and have the hood replaced as it would cost about the same as him doing the job.
Rob was honest and up front with me which is extremely rare these days. I ended up being very pleased with the outcome (I decided to have a new hood put on) and because of his great business skills am no recommending him. I will be visiting Rob for all my auto body needs.

It was finally a sunny Sunday morning here in the Castro. My partner and I were looking so forward to taking our convertible out, for perhaps the last time, as we are selling it soon.
The sun… the wind… the fun… the dent… WTF?
As we get out to the car, I notice the front right fender. A turkey platter sized dent has now ruined our little outing.
After the understandable angry, testosterone-​fueled cuss fest, I figured I’d better get it fixed.
Enter Rob, owner of Grateful Dent. The previous reviews have all told you about his service, prices, etc. Ditto, ditto, ditto to what the other 7 reviewers said. Friendly, responsible, easy to work with, up front and honest about the outcome.
But what they fail to mention is that, while some dent repair places might have skilled tradesmen, Rob is truly a skilled CRAFTSMAN. The results were nothing short of miraculous.
I hope you never have to call him, but if you do, you’re in good hands.
Oh, and a shout out to the drunk a$$ moron who decided to back into my car Saturday night and drive off without so much as a note. Karma’s a bee-​atch.

Rob was great… he showed up and was very available, flexible for my schedule. Did a great job on repairing a sharp, long creased dent in my right passenger door of my lexus. Was upfront about the fact that it wouldn’t be perfect but a great improvement and it was. He was quick and fair about pricing… actually charged less when he was able to finish rather quickly. Very nice trustworthy guy. Great name too for his biz!

Rob is fantastic. Not only a nice guy with a great demeanor, but the dent removal he can do is like magic. We’re all used to looking at a dent or a ding in a car and thinking that we’re screwed. We think we’re going to be in the hole hundreds of dollars, if not over a thousand. The car will be in the shop for who knows how long, etc.
Not so with Rob! He shows up and… it’s like magic. Saved us a TON of money when we had to get our car back for a lease return.
