History

Established in 2005.

Since 2005, our core simulation challenges one or many teams to develop a new musical composition using digital music technology. Working in small groups, team members assume defined functional roles such as producer, composer, project manager, and marketing manager. They select a genre, develop a brand and product, and bring their product to a market of their peers. An optional module teaches individuals DJ skills and provides an opportunity for each group to perform their original song.

Thoryn S.

Business Owner

Thoryn Stephens is a founder and advisory member at Syncopate. He is an expert facilitator, music producer, entrepreneur and scientist. In 2004 he left his role as a cell biologist in pharmaceutical drug development to follow his passion for music. He then founded Syncopate, a team building company that utilizes the universal language of music as a unique and innovative solution for corporate training.

His achievements have been featured in The New York Times, The LA Times, The San Francisco Chronicle and local broadcast stations. Due to his expertise in digital media, Thoryn has also guest lectured at the University of California, Berkeley.
