Sushmita Bhardwaj, DDS

I’ve seen several different dentists over the past few years but Dr. B. is my favorite. To begin, she’s very welcoming and friendly. She provides a thorough explanation of what she hopes to accomplish and breaks down everything in terms that are easy to understand. She regularly asked me if I was comfortable during the the procedure and it was clear that she wasn’t just trying to get me out the door as quickly as possible.
I also admire the business side their practice. She understands the concept of customer acquisition and is willing to provide perks for those who help her grow (for example, I got a free fluoride treatment when I liked her Facebook page).
I really enjoyed Dr. B. and have already booked my next appointment.

Let me just say this is the first and only Unilocal review I will probably ever do, but felt it was worth it to support such a great business.
Dr. B is amazing. To start, she’s extremely welcoming from the moment you walk into the office. She’s very clear and thorough about what each appointment will entail so that all of your questions are answered and you know her plan to make your teeth the best they can be. Her and her assistant have gone above and beyond to make sure patients are happy. They have dealt with the insurance on my behalf too.
She filled the first cavity I’ve ever had, so I was a little nervous but she was prepared with headphones so that I didn’t have to hear the drilling and she would check in with me throughout the process to make sure I was doing alright.
She was extremely professional, gentle and empathetic.
After each appointment, she was always sure to follow up with me to see how I was doing or if I had any questions. I gave her my phone number and now with a quick text she can ask how I’m doing.
She also offered a free fluoride treatment just for liking her Facebook page (so easy) and because I referred a handful of new customers I was able to get a professional take home teeth whitening kit as a token of her appreciation.
It’s very clear that she not only knows what she’s doing, but she goes the extra mile to build a relationship with her customers and to make them feel like family.
I can’t recommend Dr. B enough!

After years and I mean years of trying to find a dentist in the Bay Area, I think I have found one in Dr. B. First off, who cannot love Dr. B– she’s so genuinely nice and welcoming! I can say that I had my reservations at first in terms of being highly anxious when you but me and the word ‘dentist’ in the same sentence, but Dr. B really eased all my apprehensions. Second, although I admit I have not been the best at taking care of my teeth (I blame it on all those Talenti sales– buy one get one free days), but Dr. B really assured me that I can prevent but also rectify the damage and have healthy teeth and gums again! And last she just was really personable and gave me a treat (no not those prize bucket toys that you had to fish out when you were five and not the lame single toothbrush that your dentist sends you home with); she gave me a tooth goody bag and a rose– it made me tear up to know that I have a dentist that truly cares for her patients in every sense of the word. I truly love this place and dare I say– excited to go back!

Being very honest about encounter with Doctor and husband at their Bay Area Wedding Fair table at hotel kabuki 10÷4÷15 Sunday. They were in the room where fashion show was, asking couples to sign up for teeth whitening.
they made me SO NERVOUS because of the
SALES PRESSURE
Very pushy to make me sign, wouldnt let me go when I was trying to walk away and said no twice. Similar to the mall makeup salesmen.
Two days later and Im still feeling anxiety, cannot sleep! they must mean well, but the sales approach was TOO strong. Hope the practice doesnt do this to others in the future

When another dentist suggested that I fill in a «future» cavity on a sensitive tooth, I came to Sushmita for a second opinion. I am very happy to say Sushmita is as great a dentist as she is a friend. She was very patient, and explained the whole process while we went through it. She said that my sensitivity is due to exposed root, showed me exactly what I can do to stop further exposure and helped avoid unnecessary procedures. I followed her advice for a few weeks and the sensitivity has gone down a lot.

I met Dr. B at a function and could immediately tell by her demeanor that I would have a good experience. I had been postponing a cleaning and some more involved dental work because I was tired of my dentist stopping in for 5 minutes then having my cleaning done by a hygienist.
Dr. B welcomed be into the office and did my cleaning herself. Excellent communication, reassuring, clean and comfortable office. I returned 2 weeks later to have a crown repaired and 2 fillings done. Although it’s never fun having this kind of work, I can’t think of one thing Dr. B could have done to make the experience more comfortable or better, all done in one 2 hour appointment. She even sent me a text later that evening to see how I was feeling!
The office also has some good teeth whitening specials once in a while, be sure to ask about that.
Highly recommended – and they take my insurance too.

Dr. B is amazing. She is caring, compassionate and great at what she does. I unfortunately had to get a Root Canal and she referred me to another office, but sat through the entire procedure with me (holding my hand)! She checked on me the day after to see how I was doing. I’ve never had a dentist so committed to her patients and I love it. Not to mention, we share the exact same birthday!

Going to see Sush (as her patients call her) was absolutely fantastic. Anyone looking for a dentist in San Francisco should call her immediately and schedule an appointment!
Some additional context:
— I have seen the same dentist where I grew up in Seattle for 25+ years, so trying out someone new since I moved to San Francisco 4 years ago was a bit scary
— As soon as I got into the office, Sush and her team made me feel at ease. Helped me answer some questions about the new patient paperwork (keep in mind, haven’t filled that out for 25+ years) and brought me some bottle water (was like an Über cab … but at a dentist office!!!)
— The good doctor explains everything that she’s doing during the exam. You know that dentist you had growing up that just jammed sharp, stainless steel objects into your mouth and smile quietly the entire time? Yeah, that’s not Sush. She lets you know what they’re doing, why they are doing it and how it will improve your dental hygiene (imagine that — a doc focused on outcomes!!!)

I went to see Dr. Sushmita Bhardwaj for bi-​annual check recently. I must admit that I am really scared of dental appointments because of some bad experiences in the past but Dr. Sushmita was so nice. She made me totally comfortable and did a wonderful job. I highly recommend her!

We recently had our first dental appointment with Dr. Bhardwaj for a biannual check-​up, the experience was absolutely smooth and painless… she is such an awesome doctor and genuinely cares for the well being of her patients (& their families). I highly recommend Dr. B for all your dental needs.

Yes, dental appointment with Dr. Bhardwaj is as good as it could get. Her work totally deserves 5 stars. Truth be told, my teeth are not easy to handle. They have been subject to a couple of accidents in the past. Dr. B was patient in listening to all the background details I had to say and was detailed in her examination. While she was working on my teeth, she was taking me through the process and not leaving me out in the dark. Even when she used medical jargon to describe to her Assistant what needed to be done, she translated and explained to me in simple terms. Her bedside manner is so welcoming. Talking about the treatment itself, the way she treated my teeth was so wonderful (I know ‘wonderful’ is kind of an absurd word to use for a dental treatment, but she is so artist-​like, can’t help but describe it that way). It was painless and I could instantly see and feel the difference, the result of a great service and state-​of-​the-​art equipment. She even gave us some handy tips to maintain the teeth. Well, the service didn’t stop there :) She promptly followed up the next day to see if everything was okay (signs of a great doctor right there!) I cannot stop saying wonderful things about Dr.B. Thanks for being such an awesome doc.
I would also like to give 5 stars on behalf of my dad who is new to the social media. He was on his first visit to the Bay area and started having a terrible toothache all of a sudden and needed some urgent care. Dr. B, being the wonderful person that she is made herself available and attended to him over the phone, asking all the details and giving some expert tips. He followed her advise and was almost back to normal the next day. She was so friendly and made him feel extremely comfortable. She also followed up with him and made sure everything was okay.
I cannot thank her enough! :)

I’ve been a patient of Dr Bhardwaj for more than a year. I am the type of person scared of needles and weird instruments too close to me. I highly recommend her. She is very professional, she doesn’t hurt, and she took very good care of my dental problems.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Bhardwaj and I’ve been recommending her to everyone. She gave the most thorough exam I’ve ever had and her cleaning was gentle and painless. She has a delightful bedside manner, as well, explaining everything and even using special camera to take pictures of my teeth so she could show me what was going on. Even if you’re not actively looking for a new dentist, make your next cleaning appointment with Dr. Bhardwaj!

Dr. Bhardwaj was absolutely amazing. I had been going to another dentist in the same building and had horrific experiences. A friend recommended me to go see Dr. Bhardwaj because she is very gentle and good at what she does. I had the best experience. She walked me though everything she was doing and did not freak out at all of my cavities. She came up with a plan to get them taken care of and made me feel comfortable and at peace about the process. I hate having my teeth worked on but I really trust Dr. Bhardwaj and know she will take care of me. I highly recommend SF Family Dentistry for any of your dental needs!

Dr Bhardwaj has been amazing! After a few years of trying to find a dentist in SF I was referred to her by a friend. I had three filings replaced and an additional three cavities filled and Dr. Bhardwaj was open about why I needed the fillings and the materials she uses. I never paid much attention to my dental health but after working with Dr. Bhardwaj for the past year my teeth and gums have never been healthier.
