Sunglass Hut

I’ve recently bought a sunglass from them this past christmas. When I as there the clerk told me that they currently have a promotion going on that if you spend $ 200 you will receive a free $ 50 gift card. And so I pick out a sunglass that is $ 200 hoping to recieved that free $ 50 gift card, everything went fine and I pay for it and receive my $ 50 gift card. The sunglass didn’t work out so I took the sunglass and the unused gift card back for a return hoping to get my $ 200 back. But unfortunately the clerk said they can only return me back $ 150 because $ 50 was used to purchase a gift card. I didn’t know what the clerk did when I bought the sunglass but when I review my receipt I saw that the clerk discounted my sunglass to $ 150 and made a purchase of $ 50 gift card without my authorization. The clerk said the only thing they can do is give me corporates phone number and I can call and see if they can help me out. And so I call corporate and spoke to everybody there and no could help me out with anything. All they can say is I got my money for my sunglass return and they can’t help me out with the gift card. I didn’t got $ 150 back but that’s not what I paid. I paid $ 200 for the sunglass and expect to get the full amount return. First and last time shopping with sunglass hut.

I brought in a broken pair of Ray Bans after 3 years of good wear — no receipt, no proof of purchase at Sunglass Hut. Tiana and Jose spent over 20 minutes helping me repair the glasses, even going as far as looking at similar pairs of retired sunglasses to find the correct parts for the repair. Best of all, it was free!
I am so impressed by the customer service and courtesy here. Will be back for my next purchase!

I purchased a pair of Rayban sunglasses and I was not completely satisfied with my purchase, and I decided to return to the store and exchange them. My original interaction with the sales associates was not pleasant, so I was a bit nervous to enter the store again. However, I was determined to leave with a pair I liked after spending $ 250. The downstairs location did not have them, so they called the 5^th floor to make sure they had them for the exchange. I went up to the 5^th floor, and was helped by Mikaela Wells. I noticed they were the wrong glasses while she was doing the exchange, so I kindly asked her to double check because they didn’t look right. Mikaela commented back «I BARELY see a difference». I then told her I wanted the specific pair of sunglasses, and was hoping she can check for them. She through up her hands, and said «we don’t have them so BYE!» I then demanded a refund, because she was being completely rude, and I didn’t want the wrong glasses. I want to be happy with my purchase, and am paying to get the ones I want. She then tells me «her manager said no to the return, and she wasn’t going to accept it». I was a little confused at that point because there was no one else in the store, and she didn’t make any calls. I preceded to tell her her manager wasn’t there, and the receipt doesn’t mention having to return at the original store. She then «says bye bitch, get the fuck out of my store» over and over again with her hands raised. I ended up returning it to the store on the bottom level, but am appalled at the horrible experience and lack of respect you teach your employees to have with your customers! I would have been fine finding another store or ordering them. Yet I was driven to keep calm, be the bigger person, and return the glasses at a different location. As a loyal customer I’m completely shocked this experience has driven me to not want to shop at any location, and mention this experience to everyone I know to not shop with their company.

If I could give a zero, I would :~). I went to return a pair of sunglasses that my boyfriend bought for me. I had the original sales receipt and all hell practically broke loose when I went to exchange them for a different pair since there was something wrong with the seal as they would start to fog up when I was in humid weather. These are Arnette $ 150 sunglasses. Ummm hello, this does not even happen on a pair of $ 20 Jessica Simpson sunglasses. They fought me tooth and nail just for an exchange! No wonder why they have a security guard working there, lol. It’s probably for those who really put up a fuss :~) to return or exchange. 5^th floor of Westfield Mall store.

This review is for the downstairs guys, who are plain awesome. Luis and the girl with the mohawk (sorry, I don’t know her name) freaking rock. Not buying sunglasses anywhere else for sure.

Super friendly staff, they were very helpful.

Very rude conduct and cancelled my order without looking into it further.
With my talk with one of customer service representative it did not look like they value customer or wanted to sell there product…
I do not know how these kind of company survive without respecting the customers.

I walked into this sunglasses hut looking to replace a pair of Oakley’s I had lost. When I walked in to the store I was immediate approached and asked if I needed help. When I mentioned I was looking to replace them, they took me over to the tiffany’s glasses. When I mentioned I was looking to replace my pair with an exact replacement interest diminished from the sales associate and he walked away. Not deterred I followed the associate and described the type of glasses I had, he said «Well we don’t have those». After a couple minute of looking myself, I found the pair there. When I was just about to buy them, I turn to hear the two of the male associates (one who helped me when I walked in) taking about how they «can’t stand» one of the customers they had just served smells. This is totally inappropriate and juvenile behavior. I was so appalled with the unprofessionalism I left without the purchase and will not buy my sunglasses from sunglass hut for these sunglasses (it is far from the cheapest place to get a designer pair of glasses though the most convenient.)The second star is for the quality of merchandise only. These were truly disrespectful sales associates.

I like Sunglass Hut, the people who work here are usually friendly whether you are here to buy or just try them sunglasses.
I stealth checked in here before Christmas to get my man and myself some Ray Bans. We love ‘em!

…I visited the other branch, located in the union square area, and they were extremely PLEASANT… especially DOMINGO who was more than happy to assist me with my selection and purchase. LOVE THE UNION SQUARE LOCATION…

I came in here yesterday unexpectedly to pick myself up some new sunglasses, since mine recently broke. I told the female sales associate I wanted to get ray bans aviators. Decided to go for the Polarized ones. The associate left me for a while, later on Daniel assisted me. He ensured me about the 1 year warranty and the 90 day return policy. I was debating between two of them, and he told me that you’re able to readjust them. After he readjusted a pair, that’s what got me sold. I said to him, «You got me sold on these!» He also signed me up for the warranty to put into their system. Daniel, thanks for being such a great help. And plus by reading the reviews on Unilocal,I did not know you were the manager. Hope to speak with you soon.

Horrible run-​around service and inability to repair product they sold me.

Every time I’ve been into this particular location the service has been excellent! Whether I’m just browsing or looking for a certain frame, the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and just the right amount of helpful to make me feel comfortable with my decisions yet not rushed or ignored. The manager, Daniel, keeps the store running immaculately and the selection is top tier!
Can’t find something you’re looking for? The staff will check their back stock or even personally track down the item for you.
Their return policy (as set by corporate) is convenient for indecsive shoppers or for those shopping for gifts.
For the hottest shades and wide variety of styles mixed with on-​par service, I highly suggest visiting this location.

I’m not sure who the bad reviews are about because both sales associates that I encountered were totally AWESOME.
Well, the female more so than the male.
I wish I got her name but she was on the shorter side, had short brown hair and had applied her eyeliner so the tips had a winged effect. Her favorite brand of sunglasses are Oliver Peoples. We both didn’t really like Juicy Couture. She was pretty much my BFF for that time being, can’t you tell?
She was so sweet! I wasn’t even there to buy anything, it was more for my boyfriend than me. While he was perusing the sunglasses, she helped me try on some for fun.
YEA, she helped me knowing that I didn’t want to buy anything! It was fun trying on different sunglasses and finding out which one’s are popular, which ones were in the same «family», which ones look great on me.
She’s like the ever so awesome Magic Mirror. Uh, 10+ points.
My only major criticism is that they don’t carry Chanel or Fendi sunglasses, 2 of my favorites, but it’s probably because their own corporate policies and not Sunglass Hut’s.
But she made me feel really comfortable and I tried on all sorts of brands. Brands I would never consider and I actually liked some of them. If I was in the market for a pair, I know where I would go.

Came here looking for Ray Ban Aviators and dint want to walk to the other location.. what a mistake.
I was the only customer here. No one greeted me until 5 minutes later. I guess the conversation they had was THAT important.
The sales associate was knowledgeable about the products which should be the case since you represent the store. Tried a couple of offerings but nothing stood out.
I asked about different sizes and the associate must’ve known it wasnt going to lead to a sale because they didnt carry it and suggested I contact Ray Ban. When I handed back the sunglasses I tried on, the associate said, «Customers have to put back the sunglasses they try on.»
Sorry d*ck weed, how the hell would a customer know where the items go since they dont work there? I like sunglass hut but not this location.

My parents recently moved from a tiny little crack den of a house to a McMansion. Can you say upgrade?
While cleaning out the old house I found a pair of original Ray Ban sunglasses straight from the 80s before they were hipster chic. Unfortunately they were bent to all hell.
I took them here and they totally adjusted them for free and the sales guy was totally adorable. I don’t usually spend more than $ 10 on sunglasses because I’m cheap and tend to lose them. But the customer service here is bitchin’.

Service at this store is hit or miss, usually miss. I’ve been to this branch several times and I’d say at least twice I was disappointed with their service. Walk a few blocks up and go to the SGH on Geary St. instead. They have way better customer service, plus sometimes they have special promos going on that the other SGH branches don’t have. Right now if you go the Geary Street SGH Unilocal page they have a $ 20 off coupon, but you have to use it at the Geary St. store.

Customer service sucks here. This branch sucks!!! They lie to you about fixing your sunglasses, saying that you have to go to the Sunglass Hut where you purchased it from. Go to the one on Geary Street instead. They have the best customer service there and will help you out no matter what!

$ 10 sunglasses have always sufficed for me, so I’m not sure what I was thinking when I walked into the Sunglass Hut and tried on those Versace 2053-​B models. My low grade eye strain totally disappeared, and they felt light as a feather on my face. The wrap-​around style dark lenses offered complete privacy yet invited appreciation from various Italians and the style conscious. And there was just enough bling along the ear-​rests to offer an air of sporty cougar lady. However, since I was still wildly uncomfortable with the price I quickly but carefully tore them off and returned them to their perch in the nice, locking glass sunglasses case.
At the Sunglass Hut, you can’t just grab your own shades to try on, at least not until you’ve been screened by a salesperson for a bit. Some of their shades are between $ 200 and $ 1000 I’d say — I didn’t really ask. It just inconveniently seemed like every pair I was interested in cost around $ 400. But the salespeople hand you anything you ask to see, and they don’t think a thing about the prices of this stuff. All young cute 20s-​ish Asiatic type boys wearing black button down shirts with just the right amount of hair product, they are completely and totally indoctrinated into the cult of beautiful sunglasses. One wouldn’t think twice about such an expendture even on a college student budget. They’re super friendly too, possibly due to boredom in the rather quiet Sunglass Hut.
The bad part about the Sunglass Hut is that once you go in there and try on those sunglasses, you’ll never again be able to put on a pair of drugstore shades without pressing your palms to your temples and dropping to your knees in agony like the princess sleeping on the 25 mattresses with that tiny pea under her.
