Jennifer cut my hair this afternoon. I brought in a picture of how i wanted my hair to look and she gave me her honest answer of how she wasn’t able to give me want I wanted due to the current status of my hair. Instead, she offered advice on how to approach my haircut and my hair ended up pretty similar to what i wanted. Throughout the haircut, she was attentive, careful, and kept telling me what she was going to do next. I highly recommend Jennifer for your next haircut.

I came in with long hair a year and a half ago and asked for a pixie cut. Jen did a spectacular job and really took care to make sure it’s what I had in mind, checking in with me every so often. I have been going back for regular touch ups from Jen or Andyson, and even when it’s just a trim they don’t rush through the cut and they take time to make my hair look good. $ 40 is a great price for this kind of attentiveness. I’m sad to leave Sune when I move next month; it took me a while to find an affordable salon in the sunset I really like. Definitely recommend!

Jennifer is the best! I got a bad haircut from Friendly Cut and Jennifer helped me to fix it. I should’ve went to her in the first place, but her appointments are always full. So I decided to try Friendly Cut, but it turned out to be the worst decision I’ve ever made! Thanks to Jennifer, my haircut now is fixed, and I absolutely fell in love with the A-​line bob. This is the third time I get the A-​line bob from her. She did a great job and I received tons of compliments!

Been coming to Sune just for Andyson and Jennifer. This place is super kawaii with the pink and royal décor. When you first walk in, they have a whole selection of Korean skincare, makeup, hair accessories, and even some fashion apparel! They also sell brands like Misha, Skin 79, lashes, Dolly wink, and more. The salon is in the back, where all the magic happens. I like to get my deep condition treatment and hair cut here. They always start you off with their signature scalp massage while they wash your hair (super relaxing). They offer tea or water and have magazines for you to kill time. Andyson usually does my hair and he never fails in making me feel like a movie start when I walk out. Its amazing how they really do take their time to make sure the outcome of your hair is perfect. They also have a rewards program where you can build points and earn gifts like cosmetics or a free hair session, which is super! I recommend calling for an appointment ahead of time because they can get busy.

Love love love! My stylists name is Grace and she made my first experience there amazing. I came in needing a trim and came out with what I wanted. It wasn’t too short, like how some stylists go way shorter than you wanted them to. She also gave the best shampoo of my life. It was like a mini scalp massage that washed all my stress and troubles away.
I would definitely go back. Looking at all the photos they seem to have a decent dye job. I would love to try and get some highlights from them. Overall, I enjoyed it.

If you want a lovely service experience and a great hair style, that is not over the top… go to Sune. Sune has grace. The environment is relaxed and artful in a grounded way. The staff is professional and attentive in a sincere manner. I regularly see Grace. Her cuts are wonderful and grow out nicely too. When I had a need for an up do, Joyce took care of me. Both Joyce and Grace are very capable hair stylists and both are super humble about their expertise. The pricing is so fair. Going to Sune is a lovely experience. Enjoy!

This is pretty overdue. I came in to my appointment with Grace to get my hair colored and she did a fantastic job! I wanted blue originally but they were out of the color that day so we settled on purple. The entire process took several hours because of the bleaching but she was a rockstar with her patience and attentiveness. I got my hair colored in June and now more than 4 months in, the color is holding up really well. This is high maintenance but I love the result. Thanks, Grace!

I came here with my sister for a haircut since my cousin recommended this place. Along with a picture reference, I asked for a simple trim with side swept bangs, which was exactly what I got. I don’t know the name of my hair stylist, but I think it’s Eddison, he did a good job. It took about an hour which isn’t bad. Great service, and the people there are really nice. :)
In addition, I have looked through their Asian skincare products. The girl here from last time gave me gave me some samples to try after giving me some recommendations. I liked some of the products, so got them there as well. Price-​wise, it’s about the same as online.

I emailed Sune on Saturday night after my visit with photos of my hair and a short explanation as to why I was unhappy. I received a phone call asking me to come in as soon as I could as they wanted to fix my hair for me. They were very apologetic and understood my situation and said they would accommodate my schedule.
I could only go in after work and I knew they closed at 7pm on weekdays. They said it was fine and would stay late for me. I came in at 5:30pm and left at 10:30pm with totally fixed hair.
Grace and Jen paid a lof of attention to my hair and figured out the best way to fix the coloring. I honestly felt bad that they stayed so late and I am so happy with their customer service. They kept offering to get me food since it was late and they were extremely kind to me.
Now I can leave for my birthday vacation on Thursday confident because my hair looks amazing! I will definitely be back at Sune in the future because unlike other salons, they really do care for their clientele!

Got my hair cut here by Jennifer. She did a superb job! I basically just walked in and was still able to get my haircut just in time. I have thick long hair and she was able to thin it out a lot. At one point I had two people blow drying my hair. ⁵⁄₅!

I use to come here all the time to get my haircuts but I haven’t had the chance to do so in the last two years because this salon is out of my way whenever I come to the city. I wanted to come back last week because it’s summer and I finally had time to get a haircut. I was really excited to get a new hairstyle for $ 40!
I called early in the day but the girl who answered the phone said the hairstylist I regular go to was off. I was in need of a haircut, since my hair is dead and it’s growing out. I wouldn’t have any other time to come to this part of town so I asked for another hairstylist to cut my hair. I thought that it wouldn’t be too risky since the hairdressers here have been working here for a while.
I don’t like calling people out so I won’t do it here. The hairdresser who cut my hair made a horrible mistake. I give 2 stars because she was very apologetic.
I wanted a medium-​long bob. I showed the hairdresser a picture of what I wanted. I told her I wanted my hair to look exactly like that including the length. She said ok and without telling me where she would cut my hair, she cut it ABOVE my shoulders. From my previous experiences, other hairdressers ALWAYS show me where they would be cutting before they actually cut. Right after she cut it, I was so shocked because she did it so quickly and I couldn’t stop her before she did it. I immediately told her to show me where she cut and I said no, that’s not what I wanted! She said that’s what my picture showed and I showed her my picture again and she didn’t say anything! My picture clearly shows that the hair is way past the shoulders and almost to my armpit. She felt bad and apologized. She took the rest of the time carefully cutting my hair without making anymore mistakes.
Thank goodness my outside layer of my hair covers the inside short layer. If She had cut off the outside layer, I would literally have a bowl cut and be the new laughing stock. I am annoyed that I cannot tie my hair up high because the short layer that she cut won’t go that high up and I would have to straighten that part or it will stick out.
Will I come back again? I’m not sure. I would have to make a careful decision since cutting hair is always a fear of mine. Maybe I should’ve been patient and waited for my regular hair dresser to come back.

If you are not locally from San Francisco, this is the place to go for a haircut, wash and style! Will definitely be here next time!

I have had long hair for as long as could remember and was nervous when I went in for a short hair cut and a Japanese perm. I didn’t make an appointment, but Andyson was available and I was confident that the stylist here knew what they were doing so I let him cut my hair.
Although the haircut I wanted was very simple (straight edge cut) Andyson was very precise — he spent over 2 hours cutting and trimming my hair at every stage of the perm to make sure that both sides were even. He was very thorough when straightening my hair; he made sure every strand was as straight as it could be. Spent 7 hours there but it was worth it! The length was what I had imagined it to be, never had a stylist that could cut my hair the way I wanted to. Never knew I could rock short hair. Absolutely in love with my hair now! Thank you Andyson!

Horrifying experience with mediocre results. Cannot believe I paid $ 150 for torturing my scalp and I like the color I had better before coming here.
This review is for Jennifer. I heard good things about other stylists but I don’t know.
I give her a picture. She has no idea how to get my hair look like that and keep telling me common sense like your highlights will be light if I color it the same color as on the top… Well, obviously! Why do I need to go to a salon if it the same result as from a box??? She did not show me any color pallets just asked me, so you want a lighter brown… Basically, she ignored the picture I showed her. That’s not the worst part.
The worst part is when she was dying my roots. She and her colleague put the color mixture directly onto my scalp, was not even trying to avoid it! I have never been to a salon that does that. I can feel the brush brushing my scalp. My scalp is a little sensitive, usually itches a tiny bit while getting my hair done. But this time, the itch as UNBEARABLE!!! It was such a horrifying experience. When I complained, they said its because I washed by hair the day before… So I wasn’t suppose to wash my hair for 3 days so I can dye my hair??? The torture was over after itching to death for 25min. When I went back home, my face started to have some allergic reaction.
The color isn’t really what I wanted. The cut she was me was okay. If you come here, try a different stylist. For a full color and trim, it costs $ 130.

I came in here with several reservations. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but at 7:30 on a Friday evening I didn’t have many other choices so I gave it a shot.
I had my hair cut by Grace, and she did an amazing job! It was on par with some $ 40+ cuts I’ve had before.
For $ 25 I had my hair washed twice (the second, after my haircut included an awesome head/​neck massage).
I’ll definitely be coming back!

I heard of this place from a friend and I can see why she made it a priority to come here! I heard nothin but good things about Jennifer. She wasn’t my stylist but she’s really nice.
I had Andyson. I just told him how I wanted my bangs and he did them perfectly and took how sweet time to cut a little at a time to get my bangs perfectly. He was very meticulous. He may not come off as friendly but he’s nice. Andyson didn’t clean the hair debris off my face. But it’s okay. Just 3 minutes with the mirror is all it takes to find my face under all of that hair debris. Lol.
I had to come back for a bang trim after like a month and I requested Andyson but he was busy so I had Ken trim my bangs. He was really nice and attentive. He even cleaned the hair debris off my face. PLUS IN MY BOOK! He asked me if the length was okay. My bangs are the perfect length.
I recommend Andyson if you want the perfect side swept bangs right away. I recommend Ken as well! My bangs swept perfectly a week after seeing him for a bang trim. He’s so nice you’ll want to come back again: D Bang trim is 10. Haircut is 40. A bit pricy but worth it.
TIP: Go at least a week before Lunar New Year. I went today and they were super busy.
If you go with friends, bring a book. When I went, I had to wait for my two friends for 40 minutes before it was my turn.

It’d be unfair to give them one star because the service is always good. Quality is another story.
Went in for hair color and instead of giving me the hair stylist they promised, I was given somebody else (meh, w/​e). Took forever to decide color since they kept rejecting the ones I had wanted due to my dark hair and previous color. They never once gave me a suggestion — just kept saying «no this wont work». Real helpful guys. Ended up finally choosing a color that I like and they gave the «ok» to.
Dying my hair was a breeze until everything was finished EXCEPT my roots. They said to put more dye on — literally packed that shit on my roots. I asked them «are the ends ok? does it have enough color?» They responded «yes». What a shit load of lies. After the wash and blow dry, my top was completely golden while the bottom was medium brown. WTF. Even now I can see the cut off where the light meets the dark in my hair. Its a mess. Hopefully it will fade because Im not a happy camper. Really glad I didnt pay any tips. Was regretting it earlier, but not anymore.

I have never been to a salon with such great customer service! I just moved to San Francisco & wanted to try something new and bold, so I decided to go blonde. Andy/​Andyson was my hair colorist. Never have I ever experienced such a detailed stylist. He really was patient and took his time to make sure the color came out exactly as I wanted it. I was probably in the salon for 6+ hours & not once did I felt he rushed to finish my hair. I did a whole head color for $ 170, but I felt like that’s a pretty reasonable price because he had to bleached my hair 3 times + toner to achieve the blonde I wanted. Overall, my experience was awesome & totally recommend this place. This will probably be my go-​to place for haircuts/​colors. There’s a make-​up area that you can browse which I thought was cute.

Jennifer is the best! (but then again, I’m biased because she’s the only one here who’s done my hair!)
Asked for an ombré. and I got an ombré! Jennifer definitely listened to what I wanted and gave me her input because I asked. She did my ombré with highlights so that it wouldn’t look too funky when my hair wasn’t curled (which is pretty much all the time unless I’m going out/​special occasion). To top it all off, Jennifer was so sweet! She brought me magazines to read while my hair was getting bleached and whatnot. Last thing – I’m really ticklish, so head massages while my hair is being washed are not my forte, but this is a place that does them well!

I’ve been going to the same hairstylist for 5-​going on-​6 years — I’ve just never been able to get myself to trust anyone else with my hair! Even when I moved farther away and it was inconvenient for me to see her I still kept up my every 3 month appointments. However it’s just getting harder to see her impromptu when I’m passing through Vallejo and the experience I was getting from her since her business was growing was starting to decline slowly and so I started hunting for a new professional.
Enter Unilocal!I read some reviews about Jennifer and based all my faith in those few reviews that she could also perform miracles on my hair. I got more than what I had expected — one of the most relaxing hair appointments I’ve ever had.
First of all the service I received upon walking in was one of the best and friendliest I’ve ever encountered! I was offered some water and they offered to hang my coat as they led me to the waiting area. Then the actual hair appointment included not just a cut but a hair wash and a scalp massage! Worth every penny!
