Sima Salimi, DDS

She is the best, has cat like reflexes and one of the steadiest hands I trust going into my head, the view from the massage chair is amazing, her office is very warm and so inviting! It helps that Matt is awesome too.

A wonderful dentist and staff. They care about you and your teeth. dr. Salimi takes the time to explain any thing whether it’s a cleaning or a filling. The views from the dental chair are the best in San Francisco, as are the staff. Makes me almost want to go the dentist;) I like her conservative approach, erring on the side of treating the teeth rather than quickly jumping to dental surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Salimi and her staff.

I’ve been going to Dr. Salimi’s dental office for over 5 years now and couldn’t be happier. I’ve been through my share of shady dentists over the years so to find someone I trust, feel comfortable with and have had a consistently great experience with is rare. I appreciate that she does the cleanings herself vs. delegating to more junior people. Dr. Salimi and Matt (who also works at the office) are always friendly, professional, take their time and ensure your visit is positive. The office has gorgeous views of the Marina, TVs on the ceiling and the chairs massage you during the whole procedure. I would highly recommend Dr. Salimi for anyone in need of a dentist they can trust.

Consistently professional, quality and friendly experiences. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Salimi (and her assistant Matt) for years. They have taken good care of our teeth and it’s always a pleasant visit. As a bonus, you can relax with the massaging chairs and take in an amazing view of San Francisco. Highly recommend Dr. Salimi and her staff. They are thorough and compassionate healthcare providers.

The practice itself is immaculate, with a gorgeous view! Her assistant, Matt, is also the kindest, sweetest, and most talented dental assistant I’ve ever encountered.

I’ve been going here for a decade, and it’s been a great experience. Dr. Salimi and her team are friendly and efficient — and the space is excellent and relaxing. Cucumber water and a view over San Francisco plus great light make this place much different from your typical office. They’re very friendly, but not overly so – it’s always challenging to have a dentist who likes small talk when you have a pick and a mirror in your mouth. Even though I live in Berkeley — I’m still happy to make the trek over — highly recommended.

Hello my name is Len and I’m afraid of dentists. If there were an AA group for dental trauma survivors I might be the chair of that organization. I don’t know, maybe.
I went to see Dr. Salimi following the crown lengthening procedure I had with Dr. Gasper:
Actually, Dr. Gasper works out of Dr. Salimi’s office occasionally, so you get two awesome tooth docs in one convenient location.
Following the crown lengthening procedure that Dr. Gasper did to expose enough tooth for a crown Dr. Salimi placed a lovely crown on my rear molar. I’ve been chewing for a few days now and it’s awesome. She layed out the options quite clearly and was willing to answer any and all questions I had, even the really stupid ones. Long story short, I went with the gold crown, not because I plan on starting a career as a rapper, but because a) she had one, and said most dentists will get gold if its in the rear and cosmetics are not an issue b) its the closest thing to your natural enamel and c) won’t chip the way a porcelain tooth can.
It was a terrific experience and I’m thrilled with my new chomper. Prior to the crown and the lengthening procedure she did a cleaning and removed some rather heavy spots of calculus. I was told by the Endodontist I went to see in LA that these were permanent and could not be removed. She said nonsense… I feel like I got a second chance here!

I visited Dr. Salimi last week and I just wanted to remind everyone to floss… daily.
A friend recommended her to us when we moved here 4 years ago and we’ve been happy patients ever since.
Bedside manners (A+): Dr. Salimi doesn’t rush through the motions and sincerely tries to get to know you. She spends a good deal of time with you, explains things, and even does the cleaning herself.
Patient Satisfaction (A+): Once she replaced a filling for me, but it wasn’t set properly. So I came in, she looked at it, and made appropriate adjustments at no extra cost.
Conservative Treatment (A+): I’ve been to dentists before who were way too eager to drill a hole in my tooth. I like how Dr. Salimi said my filling still had some mileage in it and could go a long way. :)
The added luxuries:
–Gorgeous 5^th floor views of the City and the Bay
–Chairs that massage you while you get your teeth cleaned
–TVs on the ceiling so you can catch up on the morning news

We moved, so we had to find a new dentist.

Dr. Salimi has been my dentist since 2000 and I’ve referred a number of very happy people to her. She has great bedside manner, is friendly, and knows her stuff. I also love that she’s never pushy. All the work she’s done for my husband and me has been great and she always communicates about how everything will work– whether it’s getting a cap, filling, or doing invisalign. She also is fabulous with our toddler son during his appts. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Salimi.

My experience was first class, but my bill also fit what a first class bill would look like. Before I came into Dr. Salimi’s office, I gave the front desk staff my insurance information and made sure before I came in that my office visit would be covered for a routine, cleaning and x-​ray exam — they assured me it was and I came in for my visit in June. One month later, I received a bill for $ 272 because my insurance didn’t cover my visit and only paid for part of the bill. Now I’m stuck paying as much as I would’ve had I been self-​pay patient and and less $ 272.
Staff was very nice and so was doctor.

Been going to Dr. Salimi for over 5 years. She and the staff are great, and the office has a killer view of the bay atop the Marina. Oh, and did I mention massage chairs and LCD TVs? It’s the little things in life…

I have been going to Dr. Salimi since I moved to San Francisco 11 years ago and she is — quite simply — an incredible dentist. I have never had such an attentive and warm dentist and I really appreciate that I always see her and not an assistant. Her office is immaculate and he staff is very efficient and friendly. I have never once waited for an appointment, which is incredibly considering how many hours I’ve wasted elsewhere in doctors’ offices. I have and will continue to recommend to anyone!

I recently went to Dr. Salimi as a new patient. I had a GREAT experience. Dr. Salimi is the BEST!!! She is kind and gentle. My old dentist office was so busy, I would only see the actual dentist for 3 minutes at the end of my visit. With Dr. Salimi, she showed me the attention and expertise I was looking for. Did I mention she has massage chairs and flat screens on the ceiling? BONUS!!!
I highly recommend Dr. Salimi. I can proudly say that Dr. Salimi is MY dentist.

The first time I was there, she asked me why I did not go dentist often. I told her not all detist were gentle and I hadn’t found one that I was comfortable with after I moved to the city.
I told her I need to fix my bridge and she said for the first time patient she needed to give a full evaluation before she did anything.
But she did not tell me that’ll cost me about $ 90. I guess I would be ok with it if I was satisfied with her service.
The device I had to put in the month to take x-​ray somehow hurt my mouth a lot and I had trouble closing my mouth. The tighter I closed my mouth the more it hurt.
She kept telling me «it won’t hurt you, close your mouth. Close your mouth. Close your mouth.» I told her it hurt and she could only say, we were almost done.
She cleaned my teeth and told me my gum bled way too much (quote her).
The following day, my gum had a bacteria infection and was swolen twice bigger. It was Memorial Day long weekend. I had no help at all and I could only have liquid food for 3 days. It really hurt.
I would expect her to tell me what could happen with my gum bleeding so much that day. And tell me what I could do if bacteria infection happend over the weekend.
She was not professional enough with me.
I never saw her again after my first and only time there.

If anybody is looking for a great dentist that can make any dental procedure tolerable, it’s Dr. Salimi. I have referred my friends and family to her and now they love her too. Oh, and she has a cool office with TVs in the ceiling, so you can watch some tube while getting those pearly whites cleaned!

Dr. Salimi is, by far, my favorite dentist. I was never a fan of the dentist because of all my previous dentist experiences, but a visit to Dr. Salimi’s office erased all of those memories.
From the moment you get into one of her comfortable dentist chairs, you know you’ll be in for a good experience. She’s very thorough in explaining her procedures, which made me feel comfortable when going through with them. She has the most current dental technology to make her procedures fast and painless. I was very impressed by how efficient she was in her procedures.
Dr. Salimi is very personable, which I found to be rare when going to the dentist. She has a genuine interest in your oral hygiene and how to maintain it (which I admire). Also, her staff adds to the pleasant experience at her office, making it an overall great place to be for oral hygiene work.

I have been a patient with Dr. Salimi since 2004. She is GREAT and I would definitely recommend her practice!
Some of the things I like in particular:
— She is very up-​to-​date on latest technology and procedures (she actually teaches at USF and attends many many conferences)
— Gentle. Maybe I should have put that #1? :)
— Beautiful, upscale offices. I call it dentistry with a view (i.e. Marina and Bay)
— Honest and not out there to make money. E.g. she wouldn’t hesitate to refer you to another dentist for expert opinions.
*** UPDATE ***
Fast forward 6 years or so since I have first written this review, I now have 2 small girls (almost 2 and 3yrs old) who are both patients with Dr. Salimi.
Dr. Salimi is great with children, not just wrt gently familiarizing them with «going to the dentist», but also in terms of offering a kid friendly environment (books, videos, etc). Funny fact: my youngest daughter Sahar didn’t want to watch the video anymore but wanted to spend time «with daddy». Here’s the result:
. Everybody was happy and above all, Sahar got to see firsthand how fun the dentist can be. Also a special call out to Matt (or «Mr. Matt») who has been working with her for a while. He treats the girls like princesses.
