Dr. Laura is a true healer. She has helped my son tremendously with his enlarged adenoids and tonsils with his snoring near to nothing now. My husband found relief in his elbow after first visit.
She is kind, warm and knowledgable. She has never tried to sell us more than we need. Her healing comes from the heart.
I highly recommend her and so happy we found Dr. Laura.

I can’t speak to the actual services, we never got that far. I reached out to Laura Sheehan via her website to schedule an appt for my pregnant wife. We emailed back and forth a few times, she gave me an appt time and date, I confirmed, and that was that. My wife and I show up for the appt, and she had no idea who we were and didn’t have us down for an appt.
People make mistakes, I get that. Instead of being polite and professional about her scheduling mistake, she was rude and patronizing, which is unfortunate. Then she tried to tell me I didn’t confirm the appt. It was a very frustrating and disappointing experience for us.
She emailed me later that day, saying she lost employees and its been «disastrous» but it was too little too late– being stressed out is not an excuse to be rude and condescending to potential customers.

Nice Lady but I Not Real, Science Based Therapy
I am the kind of person who is very science and evidence minded, but also open to discovering all kinds of great things in «alternative» places, so long as they actually work and have some decent evidence to show it. As such, I was skeptical but open minded about Laura Sheehan’s chiropractic practice. If you are wondering if Laura’s practice is evidence based spinal therapy or something less efficacious, this review is written for you. I’ll jump to the end and tell you that Laura’s practice is in the «less efficacious» category.
Full disclosure: I am an MD student at a large public university. I have a BS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Math from another large, public university and worked in breast cancer research for several years at the university where I earned my BS.
Laura is a very nice person, and I believe that she genuinely wanted to help me. She reduced the price of my visit because I am a student. I paid $ 60 for one hour. Also, I made a scheduling mistake, and because of this mistake, she had to see me later in the day than initially planned. She was extremely kind and accommodating about this. Our hour was reduced to 45 minutes because of this scheduling error. Laura says this reduced the effectiveness of the visit, and I believe her.
First criticism: I felt no difference in my back pain as a result of the therapy, not during the therapy. I just don’t think her methods work, and to be brutally honest, they had the feel of something that only works as a placebo.
Second, I think Laura gave me a canned diagnosis and therapy régime. She did not do a proper history and physical. There are many many complex things going on in the back, and it takes some work to understand an individual patient’s symptoms are and what is causing them. Laura diagnosed me literally within 5 minutes of first meeting me. She told me that I had a C-​spine misalignment and that it was also causing every other health problem that I reported to her: stuffy nose, deviated outer ear canal, anxiety, and occasional light headedness. To me, this felt very much like a «magic cure» red flag. While it is possible that all of those things stem from a single cause, the possibility is remote, and it is absolutely impossible that Laura could make that diagnosis by talking to me for five minutes.
Third, Laura was very pushy about making more appointments. She recommended two a week for the first month and weekly to monthly follow ups for as long as it would take after that. While it may take many sessions to fix a back problem, my criticism is that when I told her that I couldn’t afford to pay for the amount of therapy she was recommending, she suggested that I borrow money from my family. Even after I told her this wasn’t an option, she insisted, at least three more times during the appointment. I found this offensive. Laura was pushy, like a sales person who knows the chances of closing a sale plummet once a potential customer walks off the lot.
All three of these things — the canned diagnosis, the ineffective treatments, the pushy sales approach — really came together to reinforce the feel of someone who has signed onto a system of dubious medical efficacy, Atlas Orthoganality, and is now pushing it as a product, not a real medical therapy. I think Laura believes in her product and has good intentions. But I also do not think she is objectively placing the best interest of her patients first.
I talked to Laura on the phone before I wrote this. I asked her to point me to the single best piece of evidence for her therapies. She directed me to a site with the study linked below. It is the best evidence that Laura had, and likely represents the quality of evidence that Laura was convinced by when she decided to become an AO. The article was written by the founder of the company that Laura got her training from. It was published in a journal called «Journal of Whiplash and Related Disorders» which is no longer in publication. I offer my opinion, and submit to you that I have hundreds of hours reviewing scientific literature for various academic reasons.
This is one single article, published in a journal that doesn’t really have a reputation, and written by an author with vested interests in the results. It’s not a double blinded study with any kind of control group. It only measured people who stuck around for 11 weeks. This is a classic selection bias error. The people who weren’t seeing improvements would clearly quit the treatment in leu of continuing to pay for expensive therapy that didn’t work. This is a glorified testimonial, not science.
I hope this is helpful, and that I have been fair. My next step with my own back pain will be to see a physical therapist.

This woman is a miracle worker and you should go see asap. So sad I don’t live in the same state anymore to receive her magical treatments

Dr Laura is a miracle worker! I started seeing her when I was 8 months pregnant and having intense hip and sciatic pain… So much so I went from very active to hardly being able to walk from room to room in my house! As someone who is not a fan of being «cracked and popped» seeing a chiropractor was not my first option. However after countless recommendations from multiple sources I decided to try. Thank goodness I did, dr laura not only worked to relieve my pain, she helped turn the baby when it rolled into a transverse position a few weeks later and most importantly she put me in optimal alignment which not only relieved my pain but I am convinced contributed to a smooth and easy labor.
After giving birth we scheduled a home visit and Dr Laura came to the house and adjusted me as we’ll as checked the baby to make sure he was in alignment.
Dr Laura’s approach is gentle, kind and informative. She has a beautiful way about her that puts you at ease while simultaneously getting to the core of the issue. She treats the whole body and is diligent about addressing every ache and pain.
She really is a life saver and I am so grateful to have been under her care durning such a sensitive time in my pregnancy.

Dr. Laura is the real deal.
I was in a car accident earlier in the summer, and got whiplash /​swelling in my shoulder and had dizziness. After having had a few bad chiropractic experiences in the past, I was hesitant to go to just any chiropractor. Luckily a friend (who had also been in a car accident) recommended me to her, and wow!
With an approach focused on centering the Atlas (instead of the usual cracking of the spine), and complementing it with a number of other gentle techniques (e.g., cranial sacral) — Dr. Laura has not only helped me quickly recover from the car accident, but for the first time in my life, my head is literally screwed on straight.
I’m grateful to have had Dr Laura help me heal!

Amazing healer who has helped me AND my children! She put me back together again after a car accident recently. She takes med-​pay. She is WAY beyond a chiropractor! Don’t bother with anyone else, Dr. Sheehan is amazing!

I came to Dr. Laura Sheehan on the recommendation of a seasoned doula. I came in after a Monday ultrasound at 37 weeks showed that my baby was breech. I had scheduled an external version at the hospital for that Friday but was hoping to prevent it. I saw Dr. Laura a number of times that week, and she not only did the Wilson technique, even with a limited duration because of the upcoming procedure date, but she also helped me tremendously with the ligament pain I was feeling under my belly. She also helped relieve the tailbone pain I was experiencing after sitting and walking because the baby was pressing on my tailbone. In short, on Friday, when I went for the procedure, they first did the ultrasound, and to my delight, the baby had turned. I did not have to undergo a painful procedure or require medication. Because Dr. Sheehan was so gentle with me, I am more confident that I will have the natural birth I want. Dr. Sheehan has been really helpful since then in also relieving kinks in my neck, mid-​back, and lower back. I found Dr. Sheehan to be very warm, very professional and very knowledgeable. I feel lucky to have been treated by her. I have brought my firstborn son a number of times, and he has always felt welcomed there too while I was receiving treatment. There are also puzzles and dolls in the room to keep him busy while I am receiving treatment.

I had some really good Chiropractor care with a woman name Laura Sheehan. I been having a lot pain in my back and hand, arm. Relieved the pain.

We saw dr Laura for cranial sacral therapy on our infant son. He was having difficulty latching when he was nursing and the when he would he would chomp down hard, causing my wife considerable pain.
The experience of watching him undergo this very gentle body work was fascinating. When he was born it was like he was a little out of focus. After his first session, it was as though dr Laura had adjusted the lense and his face actually changed, coming into focus before our eyes. A very cool thing.
Our boy slept through the majority of the sessions and after was calmer and more content with life for days after.

I had a bulged disc which left me completely immobile. My primary physician gave me pain killers and said if it did not heal itself surgery was the only option. Through Dr. Sheehan’s experienced care I was back on my feet and normal activities within a week.

I called Dr. Laura my «goddess» during my pregnancy. I had a fairy chill pregnancy, but my back pain was near unbearable in the last few months. My massage therapist recommended Dr. Laura and I am so very grateful she did. After one visit my back pain was greatly alleviated and i walked out of her office feeling physically and emotionally 1000% better. In the last couple months of my pregnancy dr. laura used the webster technique to try & get my breeched baby to turn. The little bugger wouldn’t cooperate and poor dr laura felt so bad. she really wanted the best for me and baby as she cared so very much. she also did some work on baby after he was born. I kid you not, after she works on him his cheeks get rosier and he takes a 3 hour nap after being adjusted! He loves it. If you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or have a baby/​child that needs chiropractic, please see dr. laura. I cannot recommend her enough (and I’ve been going to chiropractors for 20+ years!) oh — and her office manager denise is amazing too!

I know several people who have used Dr. Sheehan’s services. Not only is she a great chiropracter, she is also knowledable in many other health areas. Auto accidents, Mothers, and young children seem to be a great specialty for her. I would recomend her to anyone seeking better health!

I highly recommend Dr. Sheehan for prenatal and postnatal care for moms and babies — she is truly amazing and a very gifted healer.
I started seeing Dr. Sheehan during my pregnancy after I was hit by a car at 23 weeks which knocked my hips out of alignment (baby was okay!). The chiropractic adjustments along with cranial sacral work I received helped immensely with helping my body feel much better again, and helped me heal from the emotional trauma of the accident. I continued seeing her throughout my pregnancy every few weeks. Not only were her treatments helpful, she also is a very knowledgeable resource in alternative healing modalities and also gave me various recommendations on supplements to take during my pregnancy.
She also did a couple of home visits after the birth of my baby boy to provide some cranial sacral work for him. He had a vacuum assist and as a result we had troubles initiating breastfeeding and his latch was causing me a lot of pain. After 30 minutes of Dr. Sheehan’s healing hands, my baby boy’s latch was perfect and we’ve been happily breastfeeding since. I have continued to take him to see her a few times since for some fussiness/​digestive issues related to a misalignment in his neck and I am completely amazed with the results and her gentle care of my son.

Extremely friendly staff, nice office; though I felt a bit rushed through the appointment; there was someone still in the room finishing up when I arrived early as advised. Def a gentle touch and very nice but for the price not sure I can afford all of the appointment suggested. I had no idea she lost her Mom when I was seeing her. She was helping me to turn my baby who was breech, I ended up having a version procedure and he turned. I had a great natural birth and I attribute part of that success to seeing Dr. Sheehan. I had a great experience and felt the adjustments/​massage was well worth the price.

I thank Dr. Laura for my continuing ability to walk upright. I started seeing her when I was pregnant and had a terrible pelvic shear. After one visit I felt better, so I kept going for recurring neck issues after I got through the whole crank-​the-​kid-​out routine. Every now and then I throw out my lower back and when I visit her, it gets better within a couple days — if I don’t I can count on pain for at least a couple weeks. After conducting this quasi-​controlled experiment, I decided to stop fooling around and schedule monthly maintenance visits — and keep her on speed dial for when I throw my back out again (thanks, P90X). Shout out to the lovely receptionist Jen who gives me extra reminder calls to make sure me and my sorry old skeleton don’t forget my appointment.

I have been seeing Dr. Laura for over 5 years, as I’ve suffered from neck and headaches for over 13 years. I was referred to her, because she specializes in among other things, neck problems. Her treatments have drastically lessened the reoccurence of my episodes, which before her, were daily and all too consuming. She is a very knowledgeable & intuitive chiropractor. She has also helped support me through a long bought of infertility and provided treatments for my lower back prior to pregnancy and during pregnancy. Glad to say, she has treated my 3 year old daughter, for the first time, when she was only a few months old. Dr. Laura has a kind spirit and provides me with a lot of helpful knowledge about my overall health each visit.
I referred my mother to her a few years ago, who is in her 70’s and Dr. Laura was able to help her with her neck problem also.

I should have posted this 2 years ago, but it’s better late than never. :)
I experienced pubic pain about 15 weeks into my first pregnancy. I asked around and no one seemed to know the cause or solution. It hurt when I walked, when I turned around in bed, when I got up from a sitting position, when I swam… and it just kept getting worse. Finally a yoga teacher told me that it’s called public symphysis pain, and I should call Dr. Laura Sheehan.
I’ve never seen a chiropractor before, but I was willing to try anything. Dr. Sheehan was gentle, informative, very knowledgeable, and she fixed me in 1 visit! I limped into her office and walked out in 100% comfort. I went to see her periodically throughout and post pregnancy to make sure my hip and everything else stay in perfect alignment and pain free.
I’d highly recommend her to anyone. Also parking is pretty easy in that area. Big plus. :)

I’m sorry to have to write this review because I think Laura Sheehan truly believes she’s helping people but the fact is, I would never recommend her.
I saw her for some pregnancy-​related problems and she did exactly what I’d been warned chiropractors do — tell you that you have myriad problems and that you need to be seen twice a week for several months. I don’t doubt that I may have had more problems than just the one but I made it clear that at that point, I was just looking for help in this one area due to lack of free time and extra money.
I found her adjustments to be very painful and I always left feeling like crap. I would wait a few days, reminding myself to be patient, that perhaps it’s not a quick fix, but I would feel worse and worse.
I had to wait to see her every single time I came — in some cases, as long as 30 minutes. I know she’s busy but my time is valuable too. Finally, I found her office to be kind of dirty and I didn’t appreciate having to be worked on with another patient in the room. Actually, what I objected to was «Dr. Laura» simply not asking me first if it was okay. I probably would’ve been cool with it if I had just been given a choice.
Interestingly, I just met a woman at the playground who was telling me about a bad experience she had with a chiropractor and surprise, surprise, it was Laura Sheehan.

If you read my reviews at all, you’ll see that while monogamous in romance, I am truly polyamorous when it comes to my wellness practitioners. I am loyal and true, but to a great many chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists and skincare therapists. When you see excellent people, everybody has something worthwhile to add to the mix.
I’m so glad Dr. Sheehan has joined the mix. Her chiropractic and cranial sacral massage is centered around the mamas and the mamas-​to-​be, as far as I can tell. She specializes in pre-​natal work and has been able to diagnose a really horrible injury I have been struggling with for a couple of months now This injury finally hit a breaking point that had me in so much pain I couldn’t walk more than two blocks without nausea and dizziness one day last week. I even had to call in sick to work (something I’ve done only twice before in ten years, and the result of which was a rather cold and one-​sided Unilocal review of my own practice, but that’s another story). Fortunately I was able to get in to see Dr. Sheehan on a day my regular chiro is closed.
She took a look at me, ran some orthopedic diagnostic tests, and determined that my hips are unable to stay in alignment because of a past injury. While up to then, walking was excruciating, I am feeling well on the road to recovery after two visits to Dr. Sheehan. I have more visits scheduled, of course, because healing ain’t a quick fix. And while I will continue to see the other lights of my wellness life, I am truly glad that I found kind and gentle Dr. Sheehan when I did.
