His experience includes processing loans, originating loans, managing and training loan officers and selling mortgage loans to loan officers in a wholesale capacity for both Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase. My wife and I worked with Sergei for over 2 years while we bid on multiple homes in San Francisco. He worked with us as our budget shifted, the market moved and our target home prices went up and down.
My mom is a real estate agent in Seattle and she thought we weren’t getting the best rate and put me in touch with her mortgage broker. Once I dug deep with this new guy, he let me know that Sergei was actually getting us a fantastic rate and he couldn’t do anything to beat it. That was all we needed to confirm our faith in Sergei and we were able to close on the house and lock in a stellar interest rate of 4.37% on a 30 year fixed mortgage.

Sergei helped us out as first-​time buyers who had a fairly complex loan and purchase arrangement. We had a fantastic experience with Sergei, I am very picky and want/​need to know all of the details, even though we had a very tight timeline and were being outbid on our house purchase, Sergei took the time to explain every question that I had including the minute details around the APR vs EAPR vs the actual Mortgage Rate. I’m really impressed with his knowledge and how he was able to turn around the application and make our house purchase successful.
I’ve dealt with others in the industry on 2 other occasions and no one comes close to the level of personal service and knowledge that Sergei provided us.

Upbeat, determined, pragmatic, and reliable. Sergei makes the impossible possible. He has successfully refinanced us twice (and I am self employed with a complicated income stream), most recently adding a 2nd mortgage line of credit at the bottom of the housing market. If you can dream it, Sergei will do his best to help you get there. I appreciate even more that the last time I checked in, he actually suggested I go elsewhere because he thought I could get a better rate direct from a bank! I’m a client for life.

I looked Sergei up after a very long, unsuccessful attempt to refi my home with another mortgage brokerage. I had been through the ringer already, and the previous broker basically told me there was nothing they could do for me. Sergei helped us purchase our first home many years before, and I knew him and trusted him. I also understood that if it was do-​able, Sergei could get it done. Our case was not easy, we had purchased a second home at the top of the bubble, and had to sell our first home at the bottom of the market. We accrued a lot of credit card debt to close on our new home, anticipating that we could pay it off when we sold the first house. When the market crashed, we were unable to recoup what we owed. Our credit scores went down, and homes in our area, the Excelsior, were hardest hit. Sergei got us a fantastic rate considering what he had to work with. Sergei helped my wife and I purchase our first home in San Francisco over the past two months. Sergei was very helpful in navigating the complicated world of mortgage loans. He responds promptly to our communications: we did most of it via email but he was always available by phone when we had questions. As we were home shopping, rates began to rise and Sergei helped us lock in at a great rate under 4 percent.

As a first time buyer I was very clueless about the whole process. My real estate agent Debi Green referred me to him and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Sergei gives written estimates of different loan options and how much each will cost per month. He was happy to explain the pros and cons of each option and always responded to any email or phone call super fast. He even changed travel plans to be available for the closing. I also appreciated that he got a little bit creative with the loan option I chose which allowed me to get the very lowest interest rate! If you need someone to help you with your loan hes the man!

Sergei met with my clients, a mother and son, and qualified them for a purchase price of over $ 500K, with the mother making a large downpayment and the son obtaining the loan. This seemed unrealistic as I knew the son didn’t make much money. When I attempted to inquire about this the response was unhelpful and snippy. Fast forward to locating a piece of property for a much lower amount and come to find out that the son cannot qualify for a $ 70K loan. .. (what is the purpose of pre-​qual then?). Ultimately, even though the mother applied to co-​sign on the loan, Sergei did not proceed to get the loan. 60 days later, after no responses to e-​mails and no responses to phone calls, the loan is being obtained through another broker. Ugh! What a rude and disappointing experience.

I have known Sergei for many years through my work at an insurance agency, and had heard nothing but great things about him from my clients. When my husband and I decided it was time to purchase a home, there was no question that I would use Sergei to help us with our loan.

Sergei helped my wife and I buy our first home two years ago. We have since refinanced twice.
I like working with Sergei because he’s extremely responsive and proactive — he handles all the crappy paperwork and phone calls, and works around my schedule and preferences. So after meeting in person a few times to explain the basics of how a loan works, we did everything else over email, which I really appreciate. He filled out most of the forms for me, arranged for a notary and assessor to come to my house, and generally tried to make life easier so that things run smoothly. This is especially valuable to me as I tend to procrastinate and forget to do stuff, so having an ally to represent me to the banks is a huge help.
I’ve already worked with him three times, and hopefully I won’t need to refinance again soon — but if I did I would continue to work with Sergei.

Sergei was great!
A friend referred me to Sergei a few years ago and when the time was right to refinance Sergei helped me make this happen. Amazingly, he kept in touch with me over the course of those years to keep me updated on rates and see if I was ready (we were in the midst of a massive remodel project and had to wait to re-​fi until the project was complete).
Sergei was always professional, responded quickly to my inquiries, nudged me politely when I owed him information and worked around my crazy schedule. He got me the best rate possible and closing was easy.
I’ve used other brokers in the past and Sergei is a cut above. I’d recommend him to anybody.

Sergei was recommended by my realtor whom I adore and recommend unequivocally (Amy Clemens). Unfortunately, Amy is great and Sergei is not. Similar to Belinda’s above experience, he was unresponsive to emails, forgetful, dismissive and sloppy (he spelled my name wrong on documents even after my pointing this out and asking him on numerous occasions to correct it). I often had to email him many times before I received a response and at a crucial moment during the deal, when time was of the essence and he told me he’d call, he didn’t.
The absolute final straw was when I went to sign the closing documents and was presented with closing costs $ 5,000 more than I was told to expect. I’m not sure if it was a bait and switch, but Sergei said that the loan had changed, along with the closing costs, and that he had told me this, though he didn’t nor was there a paper or email trail which was strange when I had had to have everything notarized, fed-​exed, etc…
If I ever purchase another mortgage I will not use Sergei and highly recommend that you don’t either.

Buying our first home in SF, we were expecting a lot of stress especially in the current climate. It turned out to be a pretty smooth process and a lot of that was down to Sergei.
Knowledgeable, professional and an absolute pleasure to work with, Sergei made sure that we did not miss a step at any point in the process.
Despite the few lenders available for the specific type of loan we were looking for, Sergei managed to beat the rate, costs and time to close offered by banks previously recommended.
Sergei was confident he could deliver: there was no hard sell to go with him or any issues if we were working with other partners. He was happy to give us the benefit of his experience without any guarantee of getting the business and got us the deal we were looking for.

Sergei delivers. I am very grateful to have worked with Sergei for my condo purchase. It was unique situation which made it nearly impossible to obtain financing. Specifically, my condo is in a small building that had a high rental percentage. I had consulted with two mortgage brokers, one of which was a direct lender, and both said that because the property doesn’t meet the owner occupancy threshold, that lenders won’t give out loans. Thankfully, the listing agent referred me to Sergei. Sergei made the impossible possible by finding a lender who was able to issue the loan. My purchase is now closed and I am a happy owner. Sergei helped us out in a pinch. We called him when our other loan looked like it might fall through. What I really liked, initially, was that he understood that we still had to try to make the other loan work, but that he was fine with our keeping him on the back-​burner. In fact, he appreciated our honesty. (The problem was that the bank we were working with could offer us a better rate, but it had some technicalities and requirements that eventually made a loan impossible. Sergei found loans that did not have those requirements, but had slightly higher rates.)
Anyway, when we found ourselves loan-​less, he jumped right in and got us something, where the bank had come up with nothing – what a huge relief! He was always available by email or phone, even on weekends, and was happy to take as long as needed to answer our every anxious question. I would use Sergei again in an instant! He’s the reason we have a house right now.

We highly recommend Sergei, especially if you want an FHA loan in San Francisco. Our original broker couldn’t deliver on timing or intricacies of FHA for SF condos so Sergei took over and saved our transaction!!!
We found Sergei to be a real pro, amazing follow up, talks fast, thinks fast and clearly has the finest contacts available by the turn time he was able to deliver getting our HOA approved directly with HUD himself. We was open, always welcoming of questions and advice, and pushing everyone to get what needed to get done. Cant say enough about how stellar our experience was.
