San Francisco Smog Test Only

Damn they’re fast. !5 minutes flat and I was done for $ 69.99. And the dude let me park my car there while I went to lunch for an hour. That means I didn’t have to unload a pound of coins to some dang machine called the meter. Wait, that means I had to continue lugging a pound of coins in my handbag then. But I guess I could consider that lifting weights, right? Okay, whatever, the clear thing is, they’re good, they’re bored (3 of their staff members were sitting on the couch doing nothing, waiting for some action), and they want your business. Get you smog check done here, cuz they will do you good.

Excellent Service, excellent people.
The guys at this test stations were very nice and fast. Really an excellent service, i think the price is more o less the same as other stations.

Bruce Pon from Bruce’s Automotive recommended this Test Only smog center in SF. Basically, it’s a test center located in the garage of a Shell gas station. I called ahead for an appointment and they told me to just come on over as they weren’t busy. As I approached their station, there were maybe 3 or 4 cars ahead of me, but I still got out of there in less than 30 minutes (probably closer to 20 minutes)! I watched them perform the diagnostics such as the gas cap and exhaust pipe sensor tests.
Their price was pretty standard and they didn’t seem to fail any cars during the time I was there. High volume seems to be the name of the game here as maybe 5 cars got tested while I was there.
The oddest thing was as I initially pulled up and I saw the «mechanic» emerge from behind the hood of a car smoking a cigarette. That always makes be laugh in disbelief.

I was referred here by Chris Lee at Expert Auto Care. Most painless smog check I’ve had ever. I drove in near closing time, handed Henry my DMV paperwork, and was out in less than 30 minutes total and in time to make my dinner date.
