Food’s pretty good. Not bad at all. Funny waiter! If you understand Chinese, you might laugh all night

Typical chinese restaurant with a notch up with décor. Known best for their soy sauce chicken. If you are with a big party, be sure to pre-order in advance as they do sell quick and run out. Prices are average along the others on Noriega.

How many times have you gone into a Chinese restaurant and been treated like dirt. Rude waiters and waiting forever for a glimpse of service? Well not here. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive and understands how the customer should be treated. At one point they were dragging a hose into the kitchen and it was making scraping sounds against the sides of the door and the waiter came to our table and apologized for the intrusion… In a Chinese restaurant! Bravo for the service! Very good. The food was very tasty and the flavor of the dim sum popped in all the right places. Highly recommend

Dim Sum on a weekday. Service was a bit surprising; there were some odd things, such as chili sauce and soy sauce seem to be in short supply — needed to request the small amount again and again. On the other hand, immediate attention to an additional chair to hold my brief case & my guests purse was appreciated not requested and UNEXPECTED. Service was a mishmash of tremendously great, and terribly bad. Since I like mishmash, it was fine. Hilarious encounter w/a recent immigrant posing as a service person was the stuff of SNL, gotta just laugh and move on! The owners picture w/Mr. Ed(da mayor) on the wall, establishing«credibility». Thought the food(Dim Sum) was A-OK. not great, a couple of dishes a bit aged(cooked in a prior dynasty). Ordered a variety of Dim Sum dishes using the archetypal order sheet and pencil. Bill was $ 52.00 for 3 of us, w/the rounding tip of $ 8.00 it was a $ 20.00 ante for an a-ok Dim Sum lunch w/a few pieces left to take home. Nota cheap joint, but overall it was A-OK. Probably will be back if the Dim Sum mood strikes on Noriega, OR to sample their Cantonese fare; although their capitalistic restaurateur bent has caused Singapore, Malaysian, Thai style noodle dishes to appear on their menu. Its EssF so gotta love that international flare of fare.

Solid dim sum — gets busy by 11am, so if you don’t want to wait on weekends, arrive by 10:30! I’ve been here with family a few times previously, and I think I had remembered the food being a bit better than it was… but on my latest visit I tried quite a few items: Shrimp dumplings — good standby, wrappers seemed a little overcooked Shiu mai — a bit more seasoning could be good Shrimp and chive dumplings — I really liked how they executed these! Lots of filling and good pan-fried wrapper texture. Bean curd roll with pork — Texturally really nice but also a bit underseasoned Calamari — A little greasy and underseasoned as well, but fairly cheap at under $ 3 Chicken feet — Tasty! Just wish the portion were a bit bigger for the price. Salted egg yolk lava buns — Had to get these since they’re the specialty! Hot and sweet. Sesame dumplings with peanut flour — Lacked uniformity as you can see from the photo, but the filling was sweet and the mochi was good. Overall, more flavor would really improve the dishes. Their menu is very extensive, though, so it may just be a matter of trying different items — which I will definitely do the next time I come by.

We were kind of late for dim sum, but still few tables here. Looks like full of locals. I was hoping of dim dim carts, but not many places have carts nowadays. We checked off some regular dim sums from the dim sum card, 3 of us, we ordered 8 items. still have a bit left overs. Chinese Chives with Pork Blood — I am not a fan or pork blood, but hubby and mother-in-law likes it. Steamed Rice Noodle with Chicken and Bitter-melon — I like the rice noodle, silky, smooth and chewy. Next was our typical items: Steamed Bean Curb with Meat, Steamed Malay Cake, Chicken Feet in Abalone Sauce, Deep Fried Shrimp Ball, Fried Calamari. Only item I was very disappointed was the Chicken Feet in Abalone Sauce, chicken feet was hard! I think I will stick with my regular steamed chicken feet next time. Finally, my must get every time I can to any dim sum place(I should really learn how to make this): Runny Salted Egg Yolk Bun. This place did a very good job. I love it so much!!! I would come back for this bun!

This place even charges $ 1.25 per person for cup of water, never seen that in anywhere else. This is ridiculous! Never come back again, cheap place! Would give minus score if there is any.

Stopped by to have some dim sum since it was the closest place to where we were. Service was nice. The restaurant is not too big but they have large tables. Boyfriend and I had some usual good dishes: pork ribs, har gow, shrimp wrapped in rice sheets. Although we had some not so great dishes: the siu mai had a weird flavor of old meat probably from being frozen, the soup dumplings had no soup in them and the meat was all mushy along with the wrapper, egg custard tart’s pastry was not baked long enough to make it crispy but the custard part was not bad. The dishes ranged in price from $ 3-$ 5. Overall, sadly we were not super happy with our dim sum experience here. We couldn’t even finish two of the dishes.

Open on Labor Day. The dim sum was good. Pretty standard to what you will find in the Bay Area. Lowest priced dish is $ 3 and ranges to $ 11 noodle dishes. The sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf was my favorite dish. $ 5 for 2. The service is curt and just trying to run the business. Hence… All waiters are on the struggle bus. Running around to place dishes, bus tables, refill waters all while trying to take more orders. Overall: pretty clean. Service wasn’t horrible. But probably will not return.

I have to say that S&T is one of the best dim sum places I have ever dined in. What makes S&T stand out for me is that this dim sum place is not like other ones based on the fact that there are no ladies moving around with carts. Instead, S&T provides its customers with sheets of all the dim sum items and customers check off which items they would like and how many servings they want for their table. This ensures that you get what you want and do not have to wait around for the carts to come to you. I have had experiences where the carts never came to my table and I never got the items that I was looking for, but at S&T, you don’t have to worry about that! The food is always fresh and delicious! My boyfriend’s family usually gets the dim sum staples like xi mai and har gow, but I love their sticky rice in the banana leaf! They don’t skimp out on the meats and extra fixings in the sticky rice. I’ve been here twice already, and everything we have ordered embodied what dim sum is all about. I am absolutely in love with S&T!

Yum yum dim sum in my tum tum. :) This is my family’s favorite dim sum place in the Sunset. I came here on Memorial Day with a friend for lunch. It was delicious as usual. For two people, we split about 6 dishes and the total was $ 35 — not bad at all! Admittedly, not a dim sum expert and I get the pretty basic dishes, but they are absolutely delicious here — siu mai, har gow, fried shrimp dumplings, shrimp and chive dumplings(did I mention I like shrimp?). Siu mai is probably my favorite. Great flavor. I also got the chow fun which I found a bit average. The location is in the busy, Asian area of Noriega, so prepare to fight for a parking spot. The restaurant itself is your run of the mill Chinese place. It’s usually pretty packed, but the wait is surprisingly pretty short, especially if you have a small group. I highly recommend this place for dim sum!

The first real Cantonese restaurant I’ve been to in San Francisco. The Dim sum does not come cheap averaging $ 4 each while the cooked noodles, meats and vegetable dishes were between $ 10-$ 15. We ordered the Lobster Lo Mein Stir Fried Flat Noodles(w my black beans, onions and peppers) Salt n Pepper Squid Pork Flat Rice Roll Yeung Region Fried Rice Pumpkin in Blackbean Sauce The service for the most part was very good as one of the waiters kept making sure we were on point. The other waiter seeing that one of the people in our group had a time restraint, helped us to get the majority of our foods in time. Unfortunately the noodle and rice dishes were incredibly tasteless considering the amount of Block beans they used in two of the 5 dishes. I did find a long piece of hair tied up in the fried squid which I had to use my hands to untie and pull out. All in all, not terrible but I would give them another chance. It is great for those who like their food more on the bland side and/or like to play with hair during their meal.

They know how to dim sum. This isnt my most favourite place to get dim sum but its near my house and they make really good shrimp dumplings. Im not talking about har gaou but like the deep fried ones. Ugh. So good. I have been here several times and I dont have any complaints. They got all the basics down. Har gaou, siu mai, cheung fun, all dat good stuff. This place doesnt do the cart rolling around and you pick what you want. There’s a menu with all the stuff listed and you write down what quantity of the item you want. I dont really think that the menu is that english friendly but the staff isnt reluctant to help.

Stopped by here around 10:30 on a Sunday. It’s has all your standard dim sum fanfare sans the rolling carts. I felt it to be a pretty solid experience by SF standards. In my opinion, its as good as the places in Chinatown. Perhaps just a hair below Koi Palace. Definitely less crowded and without the monster wait.

Came here for dim sum and it was not very good. The soup dumplings(XLB) had no soup in them and they were really small and shriveled up. In fact, they looked quite sad. Their shiu mai was also very disappointing. On the menu it’s listed as «shiitake mushroom shiu mai» but the mushrooms were nowhere to be found. Instead, it was replaced with excess oil and soggy wrapping. The rest of the dishes were okay — xo noodles, deep fried taro balls, chives and shrimp dumplings. For dessert, we ordered their deep fried almond balls with egg yolk. It was interesting… it’s pretty much exactly how it sounds. Sweet egg yolk in the middle of a sticky/mochi type ball, and covered with almond slices and deep fried. It’s not bad, but at first the taste and texture is very confusing. If I’m going to be driving out this far for dim sum, I’d rather go to Hong Kong Lounge II which is much closer and much better.

I could care less how many famous people have eaten at S&T. I would never return again after eating there for dinner. This place is too dirty and too expensive for the type of food, service and ambiance you get. If you are a new customer, they sit you in the main dining room, where the décor is nicer and the service is a little better. Unfortunately, my grandparents have eaten there several times so we were considered the«regulars.» We were seated in the other room which was incredibly old, dirty and completely unappealing. Keep in mind, you get charged the same whether you sit in the nice room or the not-so-nice room. All the chairs in the other room were so gross — upholstery stained/soiled, ripped and disgusting. They have no shame as some of the chair backs have duck tape wrapped around them. We ordered 8 dishes, which was more than enough for our table of 7. Every dish that evening was incredibly greasy and laced with MSG. It literally gave me a stomachache. The portions are huge but not worth what you pay. Quality is just fair and none of the ingredients were that special. Service was lacking and I was unimpressed by the owner’s presence. She is the lady with the short spiky hair in all the photos on the wall. Overall, poor experience and regret having dined there(although wasn’t my choice). The total tab was $ 138. I could have spent my money at a different Chinese seafood restaurant and gotten a much better meal and experience.

This is the most authentic, Cantonese restaurant I know of in the city. Keep in mind that that includes the ambience, environment, noise-level, et cetera — you name it. Food: Good taste overall! I didn’t get very thirsty after dinner. Yes, soy sauce chicken is one of their signature dishes, beef cubes are good, steamed fish used fresh fish(you can tell immediately from the texture), crab dishes were humongous, and beef brisket in soup in a clay pot was good. Waiters and Boss/Owner Lady: Awesome! I love the environment! Warning: Don’t come with high expectations if you can’t handle the culture. Many of the regular customers are close with and know all of the waiters and Owner /Boss Lady. They are nice and just joke a lot. They have pictures with famous actors, singers, SF Mayor, etc. We’ve been coming here for years! Oh yeah, best to reserve a table.
