You would be very lucky to use Roamin’ Rovers — they are THE BEST. Bill has been walking our dog for years — he is the most wonderful person. Our dog Goldie is so happy, she can hear his car pull up and gets very excited.

What can I say? I will just reiterate what everyone else has said. From the first time we boarded Sophie with Bill, we were sold. He is truly the San Francisco version of the dog whisperer. He has always been amazing with Sophie. He is incredibly calm yet very much in control. It is obvious he loves what he does because it is evident by the ecstasy Sophie is in when she sees him upon pick-​up. In addition, Bill is ALWAYS available whether we schedule the boarding in advance or last minute. In addition, I am thrilled to be able to go away without any thought or worry that Sophie is being cared for in the best way possible.

We boarded our 4 month old Bernese Mountain Dog with Bill at Roamin Rovers for the first time for 6 days. Where do I begin? First off, Bill boards in his home, equipped with a yard and plenty of dog bed options, instead of some packed, crazy, loud kennel-​type facility. He was able to take Otto on short notice, his rates were SUPER compared to other SF sitters, AND he was able to accommodate Otto for an extra night due to our delayed flights home. When we got Otto back, I swear to god he was better trained than before we left. We wouldn’t trust Otto with any other dog sitter.

I just got a new puppy who is still too young to be boarded anywhere. But from ten years ago, I remember the great kindness that Bill showed my old Labrador Retriever, Zack. Zack was always a wonderful dog, but in the last year of his life, he was much more difficult to care for due to great difficulty getting up and moving around. I tried to stay at home, but when there was no choice but to board him, Bill simply said he had taken care of Zack when he was young, and he sure wasn’t about to stop just because he was old. I’ll never forget that.

Roamin’ Rovers, aka Bill, is fantastic. He loves the dogs he walks. He doesn’t just walk dogs to give them exercise. He thinks about their social needs, their behavioral issues, and their health. If you can get him to walk your dog, don’t pass it up.

Bill has been a dogwalker since before it was, you know, a thing. And boy does he know dogs and the City and the best places to explore the City with dogs!
I’m pretty sure my 5-​year-​old Lab mix Iggie likes Bill way better than me, but I try not to be too offended. Dogs seem to just gravitate toward Bill, like they know he’s one of theirs. Or that he’s happy to take them out and about.
He does boarding, too, and I’ve seen all the happy dogs there, but since I have willing roommates, I never board Iggie. Plus, I’m pretty sure he would have too much fun and never want to come back.

Roamin Rovers is the best dang dog walking service in the universe. He’s been walking my dog (s) for years and years, and our pup goes nuts when she hears his truck pull up to the house. He is kind, gentle, flexible, and accommodating of my schedule. Not only does he board Lucy when we travel, he has «boarded» our other dog, who was not allowed in our apartment, for two years now and has given her a great loving home – and given us visitation on holidays (as long, that is, that his son isn’t taking her on vacation with him!!!). If you love your dog, you need to call Bill!

You call a pager number with no outgoing announcement. You get a call back in about five minutes. It’s bill (uncle bill as we call him because he takes good care of patrick and maggie, our cats). He’s close by and will come pick up our keys so he can get in when we go out of town. Whew we say, we waited to the last minute but bill’s done it again. A gentle, bearded man comes by with two happy dogs in the shell. And then he’s gone. He’s bonded and insured. He’s bill.
