Rita is an amazing make up artist and I’m so glad I found her for my wedding. I found her while looking through Unilocal and found her work to be exactly what I was looking for. During my trial run I was so impressed by how she was able to create the look I wanted without much adjustment needed. I have had other make up artists do my make up in the past and would have some issues with the heaviness or just the overall look but Rita really understood what I was looking for. I got so many compliments on my make up during my wedding day and I felt beautiful. If your looking for a super talented, nice, and easy to work with MUA, Rita’s your girl.

First of all, let me start by saying that Rita is the best. Really. I’ve had many makeup artists (Asian MUAs too) do my makeup in the past and I’ve always found a few things I didn’t like and I would end up fixing them myself. But Rita’s makeup was flawless. I was in shock when I saw myself in the mirror! I looked freakin’ beautiful! This says a lot as I’m pretty critical of myself.
I live in San Diego and she used to live there too. She is a very well known makeup artist in the Asian community in San Diego. She has raving reviews. So when my husband proposed to me last year, I contacted her immediately. But soon I found out that she moved up to SF area… so I was seriously bummed :(Then later on my husband and I decided to have a wedding in Sonoma since most of his family lives in Bay Area. I had to contact Rita!!! And luckily she was available for my wedding day! Yay! She was very accommodating with my trial day/​time.
When I met her for the first time, I was so excited because she is such a beautiful girl yet she is so down to earth. She is easy going and easy to talk to. Rita is genuinely a nice person. My trial was a breeze because she did a couple of different looks and I liked them all but the one I chose was just how I imagined myself to look in the wedding but way better! I ended up staying longer than my appointment because I had to wait for my husband to come pick me up as he took my family for a sightseeing tour in San Francisco area while I was getting my makeup done. But we were having a great time chatting, so time went by fast. She was obviously nice enough to let me stay there with her and kept me company. She even wrote down some nice sightseeing spots for me :)
She arrived on time on my wedding day and again we had a great time chatting while she worked her magic on my face. I was almost sad that I had to say goodbye to her once she was done! LOL! Oh, and my makeup lasted all day (well over 10 hours) even though I have oily skin. All I had to touch up was my lips after eating and drinking.
Every time I see my wedding photos, I keep thanking her in my head for making me look unbelievable on one of my most important days. And the best part is we still keep in touch! Even though we live far from each other, we send texts to each other once in a while. I gained wonderful friendship from this! If you are in the bay area or have a event in the bay area, just give her a try. I guarantee you’ll be happy. She is a true professional with serious talent.

Rita uses individual lashes instead of the usual ones. They are more labor intensive on her part, but they look a lot more flattering and they don’t look fake. Another thing that shows her professionalism and pride in her work :)

Rita is so sweet and such an amazing MUA! I contacted her super last minute to do makeup for a fitness photoshoot I had and she was able to accommodate me in her schedule. She asked me what I wanted and took it up a notch by making me look amazing for my shoot! I could not have asked for anything better! I love love love how my makeup looked. I will definitely be contacting her for any future shoots. :)

Rita is amazing!!! I am so picky when it comes to getting my make up done. I usually hate when other people do my make up. I got my make up done for my sisters wedding and I had the girl re do my eyes 3 times. It was a disaster. So when it came time to find someone to do wedding make up for me and my bridesmaids I was searching for the best. I definitely found that with Rita.
Rita was recommended to me by a friend and when I contacted her she was not only the sweetest girl ever but her prices were the most reasonable I had found. She was extremely accommodating in arranging a trial since I wasn’t in the area. When I met Rita for the trial I was so at ease. She did a great job and when I had a suggestion she knew exactly what I meant and fixed things to my liking without a problem. She confirmed with me before the wedding and was prompt on the day of which really helped my stress level. Each girl that got their make up done by Rita was raving about her. My mom wasn’t scheduled to get her make up done because she is picky as well but once she saw RItas work she got her make up done too and loved it! We all looked beautiful and got tons of compliments! Not only that but our make up stayed on from 8AM to 11PM I only had to touch up my lips throughout the day. She is the best and I hope I get to work with her again in the future!

If you’re looking for someone who can hone in on «the look» you desire for your special event, Rita’s your girl! I’ve used Rita for three very special, photo-​ready events. From natural-​beauty at my best friends wedding to edgy-​sexy at my going away party, she’s made me look my prettiest. Every time I post a picture post-​Rita make-​up, it gets the most positive responses/​likes/​comments from my friends. Above all, she’s a great communicator and just gets it. She’s an artist and I’m lucky to have found such an amazing make-​up artist, emphasis on ARTIST. I’m even flying her to LA for headshots… she’s so great, it’s worth the investment. =)

Rita is not just the nicest person you can imagine, she will go out of her way to make sure you are satisfied. I just wanted something different than what I do myself and something subtle enough to work during the day, no more pointers than that, and she did an amazing job. I did the makeup for a photo shoot with our baby, it was a surprise for my husband so I didn’t tell him until I got the pictures later.
When he got home from work that day he looked at me and told me I look beautiful (and then got worried and said «you always look beautiful of course, haha). He didn’t know I had a pro-​makeup done and I didn’t tell him, just let him believe that I just woke up a bit more pretty that day ;)
She is also flexible with place and time, anything to accomodate you. We were at my place and she did my makeup while I was feeding my baby!
And the photos came out gorgeous :) I will definitely use her services again!

Ambiance: ¹⁄₁ Rita does on location depending on how far in advanced you book her, and I booked her super last minute so I ended up going to her place, which was very calm and relaxing before my big day. She was extremely friendly and made sure to ask questions on exactly what I wanted, despite me booking TWO days before my event!
Service: ²⁄₂ Even though she booked me last minute, she was so accomodating! I think I changed the time on her by an hour literally the night before, and she was so gracious about it. After my make-​up artist dropping a bomb on me and stressing me out so much before my event, going through Rita was a breeze.

I had my make up done around 8 PM, and it literally lasted until 10 PM when I finally had to take it off! My biggest problem with make up artists is the fact that they usually just care about the present results, and do not really prep for when the person is actually at the event. Because of this, on so many occasions I’ve had my false eyelashes start peeling off four hours after my make up getting done. With Rita, this was not a problem. My eyelashes stayed intact, my make up was done flawlessly and it stayed flawless.
I am literally the pickiest person when it comes to make-​up, and I was NOT impressed by all of the other make up artists around the SF area when looking for an artist. Rita’s portfolio was the only one that caught my eye, and I am definitely glad I went to her. Highly recommend, would not go to anyone else in SF.

Awesome makeup artist! I did a bridal makeup trial with Rita. She arrived on time, she’s friendly, and professional. In fact, we started chatting like old pals within minutes. I had a change of mind the last minute before walking down the aisle, and Rita was still able to make me look amazing. She also worked on my mom, mother in law and 3 bridesmaids. My mother in law and my maid of honor were not Asian, and she was able to show her expertise across the board. Everyone really loved their makeup. Book her now! You will not be disappointed.

Rita is truly an amazing make up artist! She did my make up for my engagement photos and for my wedding. I was so blown away with how beautiful she made me look! I usually do not wear a lot of make up, but she reassured me that a little more was needed to show up well in photos as well as last all day on my wedding day and she was absolutely right!
Rita also works very efficiently while still doing an amazing job! On my wedding day, Rita did make up for my 8 bridesmaids, myself, and my mom in about 5 ½ hours. I was very impressed because I thought she would have needed an assistant to at least help prep, but she effortlessly finished everyone’s make up on time and made everyone look absolutely gorgeous! Rita is also very kind, sweet, easy-​going, and down to earth and that’s what makes working with her such a pleasure! I would definitely recommend her for any occasion! She is awesome!!!

I booked Rita in October of 2011 for my July 2012 wedding. I sent her a follow up email with the timeline of events for my special day. I received notice from her 10 days before my wedding that she would not be able to fulfill the services that she had been booked to do. She had since relocated and couldn’t fulfill her obligations she had made prior to her move. She claims she had been trying to reach out to me for months… funny because I have 15 emails back and forth from her since last September, along with her cell phone number. Rita did, however, emphasize that she didn’t want to seem like she was flaking, did offer to help me find another makeup artist, and stated that logistically it wouldn’t work for her to complete her clients in San Diego mainly due to the costs associated with the travel down south. However — cancelling 10 days before my wedding for a July bride?! What if I never contacted her? What if I was waiting for her to show up the day of my wedding? Lack of communication, unprofessionalism, and a vendor cancelling 10 days before your wedding leaves me speechless. Brides — beware.

I have known Rita for few years now and her makeup skills never cease to amaze me. Not only does she have the talent to transform faces into beautiful masterpieces but she is also gorgeous herself. She is a great listener and will do whatever she can to understand your needs. Rita has the ability to make your face look naturaly flawless and beautiful without overdoing it. I highly recommend contacting her for any of your makeup needs for any occasion. :)

What can I say about Rita… she is AMAZING! I can’t recommend her enough for any special event you would need. Not only did she do my makeup for my wedding, but I also had the pleasure of working with her again for my sisters wedding. She really is the best out there and anyone who has already worked with her knows how fabulous she is. Professional, so easy to get along with and really just one of the best.

After a few different hair and makeup wedding trials, I was wary of doing yet another trial. Well I’m glad to have found Rita. Needless to say, I stopped searching and even cancelled my other appointment. I don’t usually wear a lot of makeup and I loved how Rita gave me a natural and romantic look without the cake face. I especially love how she does the fake eyelashes. It looked so natural without the cheap fake look. I also loved the fact that Rita was very reasonably priced.
It was such a great experience with Rita. She is very down to earth and so easygoing. It helped to make a stress-​free day for the wedding.

Rita is absolutely wonderful! She did my make-​up for my wedding and she made me look and feel beautiful. She has amazing talent and will make you beautiful. She listens to what you want and knows what works best for you. On top of that, she is efficient! Rita did a wonderful job for my wedding day makeup. I heard about Rita through my friend who had recently gotten married. My friend’s makeup for her wedding was beautiful and in looking through Rita’s other work, I was very impressed! Her work was exactly what I wanted for my wedding day look.
I met with Rita for a trial and she asked me what I wanted for the day of, she is extremely friendly and listens to what you want. She starts off with lighter than usual makeup so if you want her to apply more dramatic or darker makeup just let her know. Her motto was it’s better to start off lighter so you can add on, rather than darker and have to go backwards.
On the day of the wedding, Rita was on time and was very fast! She did a fantastic job and I felt very beautiful! I did not want to look overly made up but still wanted to look good in pictures and she definitely accomplished that. The makeup lasted all day even through my crying. It was a hot day and still the makeup stayed on, but did not feel cakey or heavy.
Overall I was extremely happy with Rita. Her services are priced well and she does a great job on makeup! If you want to look beautiful for your wedding day or any special occasion, Rita is the one to call! I wish I had more events to attend where I need to have my makeup done by Rita!

Rita is soo awesome!
I was introduced to her by a family member way back in ’05. I was looking for someone to do my makeup for my wedding and i gave her a try. I ended up using her for my Engagement photos, Wedding shower, and for our Wedding day for me and for all of my 9 bridesmaids.
She takes her time (but not toooo long) and is very detail oriented. One of the things I really like about her is that she is a great listener and makes sure you really feel comfortable with the look she is going for. Not to mention her prices are super reasonable for the quality of her service.

The results from the trial were flawless and they did emulate the photo that I brought to Rita. However, there were some changes that I suggested to Rita.

I’ve been Rita’s customer for a long time and used to buy all my MAC makeup through her. I’ve always prided myself on the ability to do my own makeup and do it well. Regardless of all the tricks I learn or skills I obtain — Rita still manages to take it on a whole new level. When Rita does my makeup, I know it’ll be flawless and best of all? It stays flawless. Rita did my wedding day makeup and since we decided to do a first look, we started makeup early in the morning. By 8am my make up was done and we were off to do first looks and bridal party pictures. The ceremony wasn’t until 2pm so I was nervous of how my makeup would hold up through the 6 hours before the ceremony and through the rainy/​sprinkley October day. When we arrived at the Church, I rushed to the bridal changing room to touch up my makeup only to find that there was no need to touch up! My makeup was still flawless; six hours after Rita applied it. It withstood my near-​tears, made it through the ceremony and I was STILL flawless when we arrived at our Wedding Reception; 9 hours after application. By the end of the night, my makeup still looked picture perfect — maybe a little shine because I have oily skin but nothing a little dab of powder wouldn’t take away. Rita’s work is amazing and she’s incredibly talented. I’d recommend Rita to anyone and would definitely hire her again. Even if you think you’re great at doing your own makeup — Rita will blow your work out of the water. Trust me, she’s worth it! She’ll make you look FLAWLESS :)
