Just a Touch of Makeup/ Terence Taylor

I just had the same experience as Penelope, but at the Laura Mercier counter! He is absolutely amazing. So, ditto to Penelope, and I’ll reiterate/​re-​emphasize that he gives you a flawless, natural look, leaving you completely recognizable, just with all of your blemishes gone and your best features wonderfully enhanced. Just absolutely lovely.
To add to the other reviewer’s comments… East asian ladies like myself, Terence has you covered! I have been to other makeup counters (Bobbi Brown, MAC, etc.), feeling skeptical of what they were going to do to my eyes. It’s always the eyes! It’s like there are a plethora of techniques for eyes with creases and bone structure with depth, but *wham*, you give a makeup artist some creaseless eyes and they seem a little dumbfounded, like, «Oh hmm, I guess since you don’t have creases I am going to just put a bunch of eyeliner on you and call it a day. Your options are smokey eyeliner or very precisely applied liquid eyeliner! If not eyeliner, then I will poorly try to create depth by using shades of brown that are much too dark! You will leave wondering if you look more like a panda or a clown, or a panda clown.» But, never fear, Terence’s application is subtle and soft. I loved it!

i can’t believe this is Terence’s first Unilocal.but the thing is, the man gets clients — without even having to advertise.
a lot of people find him the same way i did, i think: by chance, at the Chanel counter at Nordstrom’s downtown. we stumble upon Terence at random, and keep coming back on purpose. this is what i did for years — and then when i needed a makeup artist for my wedding, naturally i also thought of him.
turns out he does fashion shows, shoots, and weddings too. we did a trial (free! of course, at Nordstrom’s :)). then at the wedding…
a) i wish i looked this good every day! myself — only way better! flawless, and yet i totally recognize myself. (i thought it would be important not to look/​feel like a stranger on one’s wedding day.) also important that people don’t see you — and notice your makeup first.
b) at the same time, ladies, he gave me the eyes i always wanted. depth, definition, just a touch of glam… NO ONE DOES EYES LIKE TERENCE. it’s possible that i hired him for the eyes alone. but got the whole package.
c) i am so happy with the pictures! he told me that makeup needs more pop/​definition so as not to wash out on camera, and so he hit a middle line between looking natural to the naked eye, and showing up well (natural with pop) on camera.
d) special super bonus? Terence has a definite knack for making a girl feel like a bride. the angel treatment i didn’t know i wanted — until i got it, and loved it. he brought an assistant with him that morning (she was great too), but made sure that bride’s makeup was priority, and worked on me personally until i was done. *then* he worked on other people. it really feels like he’s there to take care of you, he’s in your corner.
Terence: more than your makeup artist, he’s your go-​to guy. *heart*
