Riar Academy of Performing Arts is an exclusive Indian Dance Training Academy, specializing in both Bollywood Dance and Classical Kathak Dance. Learn from professionals straight from the Industry who have trained many of the major Bollywood celebrities!
Bollywood and Kathak Classes are held year-round for all ages and skill levels including Kids, Adults, and Advanced Placement. Riar Academy hosts 2 large student shows in December and June, and our students also perform year-round at many large-scale events throughout the Bay Area.
History
Established in 2012.
Founded by professionals from the Bollywood Film and Kathak Industry, directors Karan and Meera Riar bring their undeniable talent and experience to the Bay Area.
Riar Academy of Performing Arts is a professional dance training academy for children and adults of all ages. Team RAPA dancers can be seen performing throughout the Bay Area, including in the upcoming feature film, «For Here or To Go?», and at many more showcase performances, concerts, and events.

Karan and Meera R.
Business Owner
Bollywood choreographer Karan Riar has more than a decade of experience in the Mumbai Film Industry. His most recent work can be seen in the upcoming feature film, «For Here or to Go?». His work is also well-known throughout the Bay Area and has been showcased on many platforms including National Geographic, SF Giants, and NASA Ames Research Center. Karan’s international work includes IIFA, Filmfare, Star Screen Awards, and various television award shows, and he has choreographed all the major Bollywood Celebs including Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bacchan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, to name a few.
Karan’s partner, Meera Riar, is an expert choreographer, performer, and mentor of traditional Classical Kathak Dance. Her experience in the Lucknow Gharana spans over 23 years and 3 continents, and has led her to provide a comprehensive and certifiable Kathak curriculum that encompasses grace, discipline and FUN in all the classes.
