Specialties
Helping professional women keep healthier homes through my cleaning-related services. Especially those seeking relief from allergies, asthma or chemical sensitivities. Virtually toxic-free since 1985.
One of the first steps to a healthy home is creating conditions for safe, efficient cleaning. Just a few of the ways I can help you:
– Check for hidden hazards from cleaners, pesticides, and other consumer products. And safely dispose of any hazardous products you don’t use.
– Reduce your exposure to flame retardants through the Safer Sofa Foam Exchange.
– Use simple, preventive measures to keep dust, grease and mold under control. All the less cleaning help you’ll need in the first place!
– De-clutter. This helps you get the most efficient– and most thorough– cleaning possible. I can help you de-clutter one small area at a time, and thoroughly clean the space afterward. And offer referrals to professional organizers as needed.
The next step is keeping a clean-running home. I can help you with the following, providing a customizable task list as needed.
– Detailed cleaning, mainly focused on dust. Visits are twice-weekly, weekly, or every other week. A perfect compliment to other cleaning services that focus mainly on the kitchen and bathroom, and only cosmetically remove dust (that’s most services).
– In-depth cleaning projects. This extra-detailed work can get done on a rotating schedule, so nothing falls too far behind. You can add mini-projects to regular
History
Established in 1985.
Mine was one of the first cleaning services in the U.S. to go plant-based, and virtually toxic-free. And to mainly serve customers with allergies, asthma and chemical sensitivities.
Debra Lynn Dadd, the first to write about non-toxic and natural products for consumers, was my first product advisor. Shortly after, Debra became my first toxic-free customer. :) That was in 1985, before anything green was cool.
I’m constantly researching product issues, and re-evaluating the products I use.
I’m now planning my first blog, to share the best of what I’ve discovered.
In my local community life, I’m a disaster volunteer with SF NERT. And a tree planting volunteer, and tree caretaker, with Friends of the Urban Forest.
