I love this father and son team so much I can’t wait to buy another place so I can work with them again.
My remodeling work included two bathrooms, entire floor, and kitchen update.
Firstly, I was super busy flying for work when I remodeled my condo. I talked to several contractors before I came across Larry/​Jake, and immediately I knew I found the one. All other contractors asked me what I wanted to do with the condo. Larry/​Jake saw my place and gave me a list of possible improvements. I told them I’m busy so they took the initiative to be more proactive. They asked my design taste, and they came up with everything and all I had to do was «yup I like it» or «nope let’s try something else» (99% spot on!).
Secondly, they are very professional. Once remodeling started, Jake was very good about communicating progress and giving me detailed updates. This isn’t the first time I’m remodeling a place, so I know how things can quickly go wrong– Jake and his team was extremely detailed and particular about how to do certain things so the end product would look great. And it does. AND I get all the credit from my friends who visit my place!
Thirdly, they are flexible with budget. I could tell they are all about «quality» not about being the most cheap. When I expressed my concern around budget, they came up with many many ideas to fit my design needs yet wallet too. For example, instead of covering the entire bathroom wall with expensive tile, just cover one wall so it’s cost effective yet makes a statement. For kitchen appliances, Jake went far and beyond to find stainless steel appliances that look good, got good reviews, fit the original size, AND super affordable! I can’t imagine how many hours it must have take him to do that.

I have worked many times with this father-​sons team and they are solid, reliable, and hard-​working. It’s fantastic to have the design and build-​out accomplished by the same folks: this has cut down on cost and aids in communication. I have gone back to them over and over b/​c by now we have established a healthy working relationship and they create a product I know I can depend on. Repeat business: that’s the best endorsement anyone could provide in this competitive marketplace.

Last year, I bought an older house in Palo Alto and was looking for someone to remodel the kitchen and the two bathrooms. Pinnacle DB was recommended by a friend who had contracted them to build a custom home for her years ago.
Here are my comments:
Larry Tarter, the architect and builder, is very pleasant and easy to work with.
He listens to you and comes up with good ideas.
He foresees the progress of the project and is easily accessible.
He follows up after the project is done.
His crew is friendly, clean and they always clean up any mess at the end of the work day.
He takes pride in his work and is an honorable business man.
While his pricing may be higher, I believe that it is worth it.
I would highly recommend Pinnacle DB for new home or remodel.
