Excellent food and service! Go for the sandwiches and the Vietnamese soup! Wonderful small café! Would go again if I come back to the area.

Picnix is a family-run(a very sweet family, btw) soup/salad/sandwich shop. They consistently do a heavy lunch business so it’s wise to call ahead if you’re in a hurry. My favorite item on the menu is the BALT(bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato) sandwich, which comes toasted and with a side of fresh fruit if you eat there. Co-workers rave about the Grace Kelly sandwich, and their chocolate chip cookies are perfection. They’ve got about 4 or 5 tables if you want to dine-in and on nice days, two tables on the sidewalk. Great little weekday lunch spot!

Ive only had the sandwiches so far, but they are really delicious! They have salads and hot food too that looks good as well, but I have not tried them yet. The staff is really fast and friendly. The coffee drinks are really good too. I like coming here when Im working in SF because I don’t have to spend $ 20 to get a quick lunch. Prices are very low for SF, especially for quality food.

Delicious salads! When three girls decided to catch up and have lunch after hot yoga and running, this place was close enough to us, and we agreed to explore their menu. We all ordered Five Spice Chicken with a variations of salads. All of us loved it! Good size portions and a price tag of $ 10 per order. One of my girlfreinds decided to have another lunch here today. Yum! Place is small, so no more than 3 people per table.

Picnix is a cute little hole-in-the-wall joint serving slightly non-traditional sandwiches, salads, etc. It listed as Vietnamese, but I’d call it more of a Vietnamese/American café fusion. I had the Thanksgiving sandwich here on focaccia bread(they were out of whatever bread they traditionally use) with turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and mixed greens. It’s hard to mess up this crowd-pleaser and Picnix was no exception. They seem to have an interesting array of sandwiches and salads at a pretty reasonable price point. I look forward to going back and trying other items on the menu.

Delicious sandwich, presentation and service. Nice atmosphere for a sandwich joint, too.

If you’re at the hospital, this is directly behind it. Its pretty much the only thing around. The prices are great and the food is decent. Anything that looks like it should be warmed up is going to be thrown in a microwave. Your best bet is to go for a salad and or a sandwich. Its not bad but its not great. It beats hospital food.

Tried their chicken teriyaki Vietnamese version… it’s pretty good, a little on the sweet side. Of course, it will taste better with rice. The barley soup tastes weird though. But it’s ok.

It was a perfect, un-ambivalent day, partly. The perfect place. The perfect face. Smiling happy people all dressed up and nice and happy. A day to feel good about. Sunny San Francisco sky. It was a perfect day. A sweet day. We sought out a Vietnamese place and landed here. Thoughts of spending the day laying on the grass in the sun and the shade eating olives and talking about the past as the clouds fluffed by. Will not ever happen. Ambivalence can take over when you don’t expect it. Grab a picnic thing and go, I guess. That’s what normal people would do. We thought it was a Vietnamese place.

Well my husband and I are sitting here waiting for two grilled chicken Vietnamese sandwiches. We came here to get a bite before a class at CPMC not knowing they close at 6. The owner happened to be getting into his car and saw that we were peering into the restaurant and asked us if we needed anything. We didn’t want him to open up for us, but he insisted and offered to make us whatever we wanted. Super friendly and by the reviews I feel confident our sandwiches will be delicious! Thank you so much for feeding this pregnant woman! We’ll be back!!!

OMG! Fast service, clean place, sandwich presentation was amazing! I got the grilled chicken sandwich, bread was toasted to perfection, no burn spots, soft on the inside, crunchy crust, chicken tasted very fresh and tender. Definitely coming back to try some of their other offers. Very reasonably priced being in the presidio, cannot ask for more for lunch or afternoon snack. Astonishing FIVESTARS!

DELICIOUS! Ordered 2 sanwiches from here the grace kelly and another sanwich that had salmon salad mix and they were so tasty. They were also alot healthier than stuff I usually get without sacrificing the flavor. Would definitely come here again.

Went here on a lunch break from class, I was really craving a bahn-mi. I was kind of disappointed, the bread was good and the veggies were good but the chicken was just no good. They pulled apart some roasted thigh meat chicken and there were grizzly parts on some of the giant pieces of chicken, when I take a bite of my sandwich and a huge piece of chicken comes out of the sandwich and I have a hard time chewing… I am not happy. I’ll probably visit but try a salad next time, but if that is the only time of chicken they use, I will try the salmon.

4.5 Stars Was looking for a place to eat a yummy lunch and came across this bistro! Really wasn’t expecting for such a bomb salad. I read reviews about the Saigon chicken salad, so obviously I had to give it a shot and try what it was all these people were talking about. I got a large salad, which cost me $ 9.25. I thought it was a little over priced for what I got, but after trying how delicious this salad was, I see why they charge so much for greens and some chicken. The salad contained cubed chicken breast with peanuts, rice noodles, sesame seeds, cilantro celery and greens in rice vinaigrette. The dressing is to die for. Really, I would’ve never expected such a plain dressing to have such a strong flavor. It really brings out the best in this salad and makes it incredible. The size was very filling, as well. Awesome little spot if you are around California street and looking for a place to eat.

Vietnamese five-spice chicken plate. That’s all you need to know! The flavor of the chicken here is SO good! The portion size of the plate is enough to fill me up, and I can eat A LOT. The staff here’s friendly too. This will be my go-to joint when I’m in that neighborhood.

Still my favorite place for chicken banh mi or tofu banh mi. It cost more than other places, but portions are large. i usually eat half and save the other for later. A sandwich and a drink cost $ 8.82 Family owned and totally friendly. Mom and dad cook while the sons take orders/deliver/man the register?

I was looking for a little spot to grab a lunch solo and a friend recommended Picnix. — Five Spice Chicken Rice Plate. It comes with cilantro rice and a side salad with dressing of your choice. YUM! Don’t worry the rice is not over powered by the cilantro. I THOUGHT I was going to have leftovers to take home but it was so good I had to stop myself from finishing the entire plate(felt a little guilty if I were to waste the to go box). — Arnold Palmer: half fresh lemonade + half ice tea. This one is a LOT sweeter than the orange version but I love how there is pulp in the juice. So refreshing. — Orange version of the Arnold Palmer: half ORANGE juice + half ice tea. Found this drink to be very unique. I may have to try making this drink at home one day.(Bought during second visit. Came by just for drinks with friends.) Great customer service: — I place my order to go but told the cashier I planning to eat part of my meal there. He told me to take a seat and brought my order out to me. — I thought I ordered the orange version of the Arnold Palmer(I asked for orange ice tea) not knowing that they had an orange tea. When I told the cashier I made a mistake, he was nice enough to add juice to my ice tea, even though I had drank more than half of it already.
