Peters Design-Build

I had the very good fortune of working with the team at Peters Design-​Build to renovate part of my home. The focus of the work was redoing part of the living room, primarily the fireplace. As promised, the firm was a on-​stop-​shop: they produced an amazing design based on a few ideas I had, then executed on it perfectly. They had to deal with issues including incorporating the work into difficult dimensions of my home, which they did flawlessly. And when one of the subcontractors created problems for the team, they made it their headache, and not mine. A top-​notch result, along with top-​professionalism. I can’t provide a higher recommendation!

We recently remodeled our downstairs office and it was our first major project as homeowners. Working with Ben was great. He was easy to work with, and although we were new to this kind of project, he took the time to make sure we understood the process which we really appreciated. All sub-​contractors were professional and went above and beyond, even if they were only at the house for a day. Having this project around the holidays and with two young children at home could have been stressful but I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out and the quality of work. I would recommend Peters Design-​Build without hesitation.

We just purchased a house in Novato. My husband is an architect himself, so he had planned to modify many areas of the house. Ben Peters had re-​framing the wall, add and removed the wall, rebuild two staircases. His estimation was very accurate. He gave us good advice.
Ben got the job done quick and neat and exactly what we wanted. He made sure that the place was clean every time before he left the job site. Ben is a very honest, skillful person and good personality.

New to the bay area with the Coast Guard, and on a bit of a budget after spending everything on the purchase of our house in Crestmont, my wife and I had several estimates on the work that was noted on our inspection report. We were referred to Ben by an acquaintance of my wife’s, who raved about his work. Ben struck me as extremely open and professional from our first meeting, and he beat all other estimates for the wide variety of jobs to be done on the house. As someone who is only slightly «handy,» it took a bit of explaining for me to understand the details of the extent of the work that needed to be done, why some things may or may not need to be done, and all the options in the middle. Ben was very patient with us, and easily accommodated our requests, changes of mind, as well as the fickle weather!
From replacing siding, designing and constructing a kitchen bar, building a platform for a sloped ceiling fan, and putting through a number of new outlets, to hanging a chandelier from a 20-​foot ceiling and refinishing the deck, Ben was thorough and performed outstanding work. Never before have I been so impressed with a general contractor who provided true quality work for such a reasonable price, and all while helping us make informed decisions rather than dictating the plan.
There’s likely to be a bathroom remodel in our near future, and we plan on keeping Ben at the top of our list.

We have contracted with Ben Peters of Peters Design-​Build multiple times over the past 10 years for various projects at our residence. He is courteous, professional, reliable, and has a great eye for design. In addition to top quality workmanship he is responsible, detailed, timely, honest, and clean (no mess). His work includes window & door installations, cabinetry and millwork.
We enjoyed touring a spectacular showcase home remodel & addition Ben built in Oakland, which included full kitchen & bath renovations. My husband & I will continue to contract his services and refer him.
