The pancakes were fluffy yet crispy. I’ve never had better scrambled eggs, I usually can’t get through 2 and plowed them down before anything else. The club sandwich was delicious. Grandpa on the grill and old school diner ambience. Cheap!

Good food at great prices. We had regular breakfasts, all were good. Cheerful, attentive staff. If you are looking for fancy décor, not your place. But if you want good food and service, this is your place.

When I first arrived in America this is where I came to eat. Country fried steak and eggs. This is your typical shitty diner that serves simple food. Love it for the authenticity. Good coffee and pretty good corn beef hash.

If you’re looking for a quick American-style breakfast with character, Olympic Flame café is it. The food is nice and greasy, yet delicious, and sure to fulfill your breakfast needs. I usually always go for pancakes and eggs, but the specials also look pretty delish. This place is underrated, as there’s a competitor diner on the next block that gets a ton of business(that’s not as good either, in my opinion). Not sure who runs the place, but every time I’m there, there seems to be someone barking orders to this lone cook, who churns out food like a General Motors assembly line. Definitely a must if you’re staying on or near Geary street. Likes: –quick food turnaround –relatively cheap –centrally located –wide variety of menu offerings and specials Dislikes: –cash only(but they have a shady ATM onsite) –looks a bit seedy/shady(but don’t judge a book by its cover!)

The place is run down and the waitress was charming. The food was nasty! The pancakes were rubbery and the sausage was gross. Orange juice taste like tang and they only carry slice bread. I was not happy. They only take cash which is sketchy. I was very disappointed with my sandwich, and hubby’s pancakes. Coffee was not great either. Take the few minute walk to dine in a better breakfast spot.

I want to give 3 and a half but four is close enough. Really good prices for decent food. I’ve eaten a variety of food here. The staff are prompt but the restaurant could use a deep cleaning. Really convenient so I go occasionally.

Awesome cheap breakfasts and they also filmed the documentary about the Compton’s Cafeteria riot here!(Queer riot that happened before Stonewall…)

Big food low prices. This is a traditional Greek diner from Saturday night live. Food is not going to be gourmet. But taste exactly the way it should for a diner. Cash only, TV in the corner & an old guy on the grill. Don’t order anything«special» and stick with the strait up diner food & you’re good. Guys will like this place more than girls — it’s in the reviews.

Initially comes off as charming hole in the wall but HAHA it’s actually disgusting. I’m not a picky eater ATALL, but for the first time in my life I just couldn’t bring myself to eat the«omelette» I ordered. I would describe it as wet, flavorless, and also not an omelette– it was more like a frittata or scramble kind of? Hot sauce could not save it. I decided to just eat my toast instead. Also flavorless. And cold. The waitress never brought me the coffee I ordered, instead refilling my boyfriend’s and leaving the table. I would have reminded her but I never saw her again, until she noticed we were trying to pay and leave w/o eating hardly anything. Also– SURPRISE!- cash only.

Great breakfast place if you are staying at one of the nearby hotels. Chorizo eggs were excellent.

Big country. Huge man: Huge plate: Two eggs, two chicken apple sausage links and one waffle substituted for pancakes by our friendly server at no charge. Extra $ 1 for egg whites. For $ 10 it could have been two meals. Proved to be just one after an epic night dancing. Delicious all around. Off pink seats and throwback diner vibe were just as tasty. Places like this are an endangered species. Would be a big loss to lose them.

Love this place. Old school, solid breakfast classics with no hip pretense. Totally awesome. My kind of place.

Food is okay, but they don’t take credit cards. Conveniently they have an ATM in the restaurant though. SCAM!!! Not impressed!

We stayed in the hotel across the street and after a night out we woke up late and wanted to find the closest and quickest breakfast. This place fit the bill. We had some halfway decent coffee, our mugs were refilled often. We ordered the spinach and sausage omelet and a gyro sandwich. Both were good, the food was brought out in a timely manner, even though they were busy. The restaurant itself is a bit rundown, service is no frills, but decent. Everything did come to a screeching halt when I tried to pay with a credit card. There was no sign outside saying CASHONLY. Then I saw the ATM machine and realized they have it that way for a reason. During our brief stay in San Fran, we used our credit card to pay for; parking, taxis, pizza slices, EVERYONE takes credit cards, Square has changed everything! But the fact that they conveniently have an ATM machine makes me believe the owner has some kind of arrangement with the company that services the machine? Anyways, minus two stars for the inconvenience and the $ 1.50 fee.

This is a great place and exactly what SF needs more of to keep it affordable. Really great omelette cooked perfectly and friendly service. Coffee was decent and you are out the door for less than $ 15…breakfast yesterday was $ 35! Give this place a try, eat an omelette and let me know what you think!

Old school diner. Like mels diner but without the franchise. I came in here on a Thursday morning. The place closes at 4pm so I rarely see it open as I get up late. Waitress is very frank and attentive. Ask her about Russia. I had a three egg omelet which was delicious but could have had less grease. Made me feel nauseous but that was my own fault for finishing it. Less grease please and it’d be five stars.

If I could give any restaurant a 0, I would do so for this restaurant. My friends and I came here on a Sunday for breakfast. We originally wanted to eat at Tommy’s, but unfortunately, they were closed until 11. We decided to give this place a try, which was a huge mistake!!! I really wished we checked the Unilocal reviews prior to eating here. My boyfriend and I ordered the NY Steak with scrambled eggs and potatoes. We asked for our steak to be cooked medium, but that’s not what we were given. Instead, they cooked it well done. Not only was it cooked incorrectly, it was also very tough. It definitely wasn’t quality meat! What made it worse was that we found a hair in our steak!!! Soooo gross!!! And if you wanted to know what our eggs tasted like, it tasted like nothing. Super plain, no seasoning. My friends omelet was also a let down. She had only 2 bites and decided that the regular white bread toaat with butter was 100% better than her omelet. I will never come back! I’d rather starve than eat at this place! — yes, its THAT bad!!! Also, this place is dirty…

This place is GROSS!!! I would call the service horrible but it was more like non-existent. My group had to get our own straws, own refills and walk up to the counter to get our check… twice! The burger had a weird spiced taste and the ketchup is watered down. The fries are undercooked, limpy, super oily and bland. I asked for no tomato… reiterated it again, and what do you know… there was tomato on the burger. My friend had eggs and said they were fine. Bleh.

We waited way to long to be served, then some bizarre guy whispered to ask what we wanted to drink, i thought we’d never understand what he wanted. Then there was an old piece of tea bag in my water, and the french toasts were very dry and tasted like an omelet. Pancakes were good.
