Scott Rose is the best realtor in San Francisco.
I live in SF, which has an insane housing market. I did not have a very big budget and wanted to buy a home back in 2012 but the realtor we tried to contact before said they do not work with people below a certain budget amount (oookaaay…). That dissuaded me from pursuing a home.
Fast forward to 2014 and I went to Redfin to look for homes because I think we were ready to buy one. Thank goodness I did that and Scott responded through the redfin site. Despite a still modest budget, Scott worked with me as if I’m buying $ 5M dollar homes. He provided information knowledgeably and patiently. I had a lot of questions and he always responded quickly. Within a week, I was already putting a deposit on a new construction.
That new construction was delayed for almost a year and my husband and I were very frustrated. Scott always calmed me down when I would go off the handle every time the builder said they were delayed again. He has great relationships with other realtors, the builder, our lender, etc. so I always received the best information so I can make decisions. At the end, we are glad we stayed with the purchase because we like our new home and it has appreciated considerably, again thanks to Scott’s knowledge of the SF neighborhoods.
We love Scott. He is patient, knowledgeable and personable. I appreciate his very down to earth nature because the San Francisco market is overwhelming. He will guide you throughout the complexity of the process and will always have your interest at heart.

My wife and I met Scott and Tanja when we started our search for a new home on Redfin. It’s hard to describe how incredible they both are. The San Francisco real estate market can be daunting, challenging, and difficult to navigate. From our very first meeting until the day we were handed keys to our new home, Scott made sure to guide, support, and educate us every step of the way. What immediately struck us on our first meeting with Scott and Tanja, was how laid-​back, friendly, and kind they both are. After having met other SF agents with gigantic egos, we were immediately put at ease, and knew that we had found the best agents to work with. They are both very down-​to-​earth. As first-​time home buyers, we had a pretty strict budget. Scott was always understanding of this, and never pressured us to bid more than we were comfortable with. San Francisco is an incredibly competitive market, and having the right agent truly makes all the difference. Scott was always ahead of the game — sending us listings and encouraging us to go to open houses that we didn’t even know about. This really exemplifies how much Scott thinks about, and cares for each of his clients — he’s always working for them! When it came time to close the deal on our new home, Scott coached us perfectly, and knew what it would take to get the job done. Scott also made sure to keep a great working relationship with our lender, regularly following up with them and staying in communication to make sure we had a smooth close. Scott even went the extra mile and recommended fantastic contractors for us to work with to remodel a few things in our new place. I can’t say enough positive things about Scott and Tanja. Simply put, we wouldn’t have a new home without them, and you can’t find a better team of agents in town!

They were amazing and got us our dream house! Tanja did a great job negotiating for us and giving us the right guidance around time and price. She also ‘listened’ to us really well and was able to pick out places that fit our criteria. I strongly recommend working with them.

Tanja is professional, genuine, pragmatic, kind, and thorough. When helping us to buy a new home last month, she went through the disclosure packet in such detail that she found an error that the seller’s agent had made which could have cost him his closing fee. Being Tanja, she pointed this out to him, and he was so grateful that it helped our offer to stand out amongst the fifteen that were received.
She is also great with people, and she has a natural ability to read people and situations. Her ability to make a genuine connection with the sellers and their agent was a huge part of what made our bid a success.
Tanja also owns several properties and has lots of hands-​on experience with construction, remodeling, and owning rental properties. She really has the full picture of the San Francisco real estate market, which is especially helpful if you are thinking about buying a property that needs work or that might have income potential.
Tanja is also extremely hard working. The house we ended up buying was on lock box, and she very patiently agreed to show it us on multiple occasions. At one such visit, her children were returning from being away all summer that day, but she showed it to us anyway before rushing directly to pick them up at the airport. Since then, we’ve continued to stay in touch with various updates to the house and she’s put us in touch with all sorts of contractors. She’s just an excellent resource for all things related to home transitions even beyond the actual sale/​purchase.

Sometimes you take too long to get around to something and this is one of those times. About 18 months ago, I used Tanja as my agent for purchasing a condo in Diamond Heights Last night, as I was sitting at home enjoying what has become a wonderful oasis from the urban hustle, I realized such great service deserves a shout out. So here is my first ever Unilocal review. And I am pleased to give it, even after so much time.
Tanja Beck ROCKS IT as a professional real estate agent. She works harder than any agent I have ever dealt with, making sure the [property fits her client and that the deal for that property works for her client’s situation. She even takes on the work of the agent on the other side when that agent slacks off. She negotiates hard on behalf of her client and makes sure the paperwork gets properly lined up. seeing the deal all through to the end. No hassles for her client and definitely puts the client’s interest before her own. I say this from my experience with her as my representative.

Do yourself a big favor and work with Tanja. She is brilliant! She knows the SF real estate market inside and out and she is tireless in her efforts to find the right place for you.
I had a very limited budget, was a frightened first time home buyer, and Tanja moved heaven and earth for me. She is honest, cares about her clients, and is the hardest worker I’ve ever met.

Tanja is fabulous. She was patient while I turned my nose up at almost everything in my price bracket, and rushed to fresh properties at a moment’s notice if they seemed like a deal. She also drove me everywhere, because I didn’t have a car. She tipped me off to an area I had never considered, and recommended I view a property I had dismissed, which I now own, and LOVE. Not only that, she went way beyond the job requirements — telling a snotty neighbor to move their car so we could test the garage door, (while I hid behind it), helping to stealthily move an appliance in order that I could qualify for a lower mortgage rate, setting up appointments with contractors and even meeting them at the property for estimates, so I could keep the job I needed to qualify for the mortgage. I am exceptionally charming, so don’t expect she’ll do all that for you, but I highly recommend you avail yourself of her skills and determination!

GO WITH TANJA — you will not be disappointed! Efficient, perfectionist, professional, warm, knows the right people, knows the market!
2 Months is ALL it took for Tanja’s team to get us our condo. She listens and is smart and suggests and makes perfect decisions on the type of places to see. I have never worked with a more professional person in real estate.
She is not a schmoozer, and will give you the low down on the property and when needed she will remind you of your expectations which as we all know fluctuate when we see properties which will almost fit our budget:) You know we all have moments where we know we can work extra and make those slightly higher payments.

Tanja and Scott and the rest of their team helped us learn how to shop for a house, what we could afford, how to put in an offer, and eventually close. We were first time home buyers before we met them, and we knew nothing. We felt like they took care of us and were patient with our ridiculous questions.

Phew, I’m glad there’s only one other review! Sometimes I feel awful for not writing about great service but if everyone knew, the secret’s out and all the friends I’ve referred may not get the same quality of service. Being just the second reviewer means this will still be low on the search results and I still get to review a real pro.
Two years ago I attended one of their first time home buyer seminars. That was the peak of the bubble and prices were way out of mine and most regular folks’ range. Instead, over the past couple of years I put into practice what I learned. In July when I sort-​of had a 20% downpayment and I’d found some properties I liked, I contacted Tanja. She got the ball rolling. Actually it was more like an avalanche. The offer was accepted the same afternoon, how crazy is that?
I didn’t even have time to feel buyer’s remorse because in a month and a half I moved in already. I’m planning on throwing a housewarming party this weekend and she’s right there on the top of the invite list — and even if she’s working I sure hope she’ll pop by for a bite & a drink!
