Moldovan Academy

Love this school! My son is wrapping up his Pre-​K year at Moldovan and will be staying on for TK. The staff is amazing — they are all, without exception, attentive, caring, and experienced educators. My son is very inquisitive, and they have really satisfied his appetite for facts and learning. He also has a lot of fun with his friends and creative/​arts play, and the location/​hours/​enrichment activities can’t be beat. It is a very tight-​knit school community, and while the play yard is small, they take weekly walking trips to local playgrounds & neighborhood businesses, and make the most of their space with interesting configurable structures and activities. Btw, this is our second child (the first one went to a different pre-​school that was solid, but not nearly as good a fit for our family) so we do have a point of comparison. So glad we found Moldovan for our little one!

We have been working with both locations of the Moldovan Academy school for over a year. At the SF school my company
provides weekly bilingual music and yoga classes. All of my teachers love teaching there because their teachers are so amazing and kind. You can just tell they really love their work. I have been in this industry for 20 years and have worked with hundreds of schools throughout the Bay Area. I see a lot of schools and am not always impressed but their school is beautiful. It is so clean and bright with a great yard (for being in the city) in a great location! And the owner is so nice to work with! I hope we are able to continue our work with them for years to come!

My colleague, who sends his 2 kids to Moldovan Academy in Sonoma referred us to the opening of the Noe Valley campus, and gave the school rave reviews. We have been sending our daughter to Moldovan since their opening in September, and have been very happy with the quality of the program and teachers, who are very involved and enthusiastic.
The HighScope curriculum (plan, do, review) teaches our daughter key skills and builds confidence. There are other activities (yoga, soccer, music, etc) which create a rich experience. We’ve seen her development accelerate in the last few months. Another plus is the wonderful parents and their children, who play well with each other.
A great pre-​k find in San Francisco!

Ever since we met Kathleen Moldovan almost 2 years ago on the farmers market in Noe Valley we knew we wanted our son to attend this wonderful new preschool in Noe Valley. I started by visiting the Sonoma branch and immediately knew this would be the right program for our son.
The high/​scope based curriculum is a great way for kids to learn, while they think they’re playing! I love the fact that all fun activities they do, have a very well based reason. My son has learned SO MUCH already in the first months he has attended Moldovan. The progress is amazing! But more importantly he LOVES to go to school! He’s actually disappointed when it is a non-​school day… And when I pick him up after a long day, he still doesn’t want to go home! Now, that’s says something!
The teachers are fantastic! They go out of their way to engage the kids in large group, small group and even individually. They seem to really know and feel what every kid needs. And if that wasn’t enough, they added extra activities like Soccer Tots, Yoga and music class!
Kathleen, Cally, Sam and Katherine are really building a community around their school. There have been several family events already; fun parties where we could meet the other families. And every week there’s a report about the week including so many cute pictures. One day when my son was having a hard time, Kathleen sent me pictures on my phone all day to reassure me that he was doing fine and having fun. Fantastic!
In short: this is a great school! I would recommend it to anyone and everyone who wants to hear it!

We could not be more pleased with Moldovan academy! Our son has been there for a few months now and they have exceeded our expectations. I love the teachers. They go out of their way to fill us in on how the day went and are all very fun and professional.
A few other things I love:
— they are incredibly organized.
— I can see each day if my son napped or slept because it’s kept right at the door.
— it is clean!
— they host family nights and events that allow us to get to know everyone better.
Most importantly, my son loves it and he is learning so much. He is getting a good start in life here!
