Avril Swan, MD, has been practicing medicine in California since 2000 and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She graduated from Mayo Medical School and completed her residency at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Swan’s style is strongly collaborative and based the belief that given knowledge and support, that most people can make intelligent decisions about their own health care. She believes that stress, state of mind, and environment are important factors when addressing an individual’s health concerns.
Though she practices comprehensive family medicine, she has a special interest in and expertise treating eating disorders.
History
Established in 2003.
Dr. Swan joined Dr. Daphne Miller in 2003 and since that time has developed her interest in integrating traditional western medicine with alternative modalities to provide the best care for her patients. She has completed education in nutrition, primary care homeopathy, and medical acupuncture. Dr. Swan attended medical school at the Mayo Clinic and completed her residency in Family Medicine and fellowship in medical education at The University of California, San Francisco. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco and is dedicated to improving the clinical education of medical students. Dr. Swan is board certified through the American Board of Family Medicine.
